Almost definitely...also about the magnets, my brother had this set when I was a kid we left it together for years, after a while the magnets weaken and the bottom panels just wont stay on. I think my dad just glued the magnets together at one point 😂. I have no experience with the build so I cant say for sure but perhaps the complaints on the magnets come from long term display problems.
Very pure display set. I wish all modern UCS sets were designed with this mindset. With modern building techniques it would be more stable and you’d get less iffy moments in the building process, but still enough to make it a real challenge for ULTIMATE COLLECTORS.
Henry DeGroff fair enough. But that’s really if you find the source material boring, which it is a fairly faithful recreation of. I mean the source material is meant to be bland, that’s the point.
@@henrydegroff4282 Definitely the 2014 model is far more accurate and far less clunky than this one. Being bigger doesn't necessarily equate with being more detailed and true to the source material.
Having seen this set up close I feel the extra pieces in the new one are mainly going to come from a much sturdier technic frame which enable the ship to be lifted, removing the magnets from the design, lots more tiles and greebling, and sorting out the gaps between the sections :) :) pretty excited to see it!
@@littlefoot4417 im not sure, the lower bits just a hanger bay, so dont know what sort of room they could put in, but i guess it would be simmilar to the super star destroyer, but i didnt really like that interior. Awesome stuff! Really hoping for Prequel UCS stuff in the future from LEGO, and maybe a new minifig-scale Star Destroyer or Republic Gunship (now THAT would be awesome!).
The biggest flaw with this set is the internal structure being wildly inadequate to support the front end of the model without bending. But it looks great otherwise.
Not to flex or anything but I have built the Lego UCS Millennium Falcon and I am just 12, as well as other UCS sets. (Took FOREVER) Again, not trying to flex. Anyways, love ur videos Ryan. Ur videos improve a lot of people's days including mine. Keep up the awesome work
the building technique on the side blasters isn't illegal but it defiantly is bad. the T bar piece connects into the top and bottom dish and then the rest is stuck into the frame. everything is connected with the lego system. unless you built it wrong but probably not
It took me 26 hours to build this set. He forgets to mention this set is before LEGO presorted pieces into bags. I spent half my build time sorting through the nearly all grey pieces. However this is the best Star Wars LEGO set ever!!!
As much as I’ve coveted this set over the years I’m hoping it will look as dated as the original UCS Falcon in a few weeks time. It’s an exciting time to be a Lego fan!
QUESTION. is there any room to put in maybe 10 magnets in stead of just 5 ? And I heard that the bottom part falls down if you get it of the stand. True ?
I have one of these unopened in the lego shipping box. Bought it on clearance at the Lego store when it was on it's way out, and haven't been able to bring myself to open it after seeing what it's worth. Guess I'll have to get the new one to actually build one, lol.
I had to modify the front to add a third stand because after a few months on the shelf, the nose of the ship actually starts to bend downward under its own weight.
3 Executors end to end would be 3 kilometers short of the Supremacy's "wingspan" if you can call it that. Ball parking the rest of the ships mass. I'd say five times the piece count at least "roughly 15,750 bricks". and about 12 feet across by 4.20 feet long.
@@bakernation I don't remember the height of the ssd but I know the msd is about 3km high. I'm sure they would also include at least one micro resurgent class to go with it like the corvette in this set.
@@aydinlutmergp4885 Yes it would more than double the current leader "UCS Millennium Falcon". But like I said that's a conservative estimate if you want the same scale as the UCS super star destroyer, it would probably be like 20-25,000 bricks.
@@aydinlutmergp4885 I like the idea of a micro Resurgent could include 3-4 of those and a micro Raddus model. The set would cost like 3-4 grand and would need a palette for the box 🤣.
I've had this set since release. I feel like it too me much longer than 8 hours to build. The unfortunate part about the build... The frame "handle" that you grabbed to move it, has bowed significantly, and will need replaced. It wasn't designed well to hold all of weight, for such a long period of time (almost 17 years). The magnets did fail after a couple of years, which did cause the fins to fall off and break apart. While this is still one of the best sets that I own, I am mildly ashamed to say it is not currently in very good condition. A lot of rebuilding, and falling apart over the years has caused me enough frustration to leave it in it's broken glory.

Personally I think this set is kind of boring, and the only thing it really has going for it is it's size.
