I completely agree that he is as successful as he is because of how hard he's worked. Saying he's talented (in my eyes) is not to say that he gets by on dumb luck and only what he's born with, it's that he has put in the work to make himself successful in such a way that he doesn't need gimmicky lyrics or auto tune to be successful. Both he and his music are genuine.

I think Ed is kind of the crowning glory of what's going on with young singers right now. Emotional, very tolerant and incredibly gifted. Look what he sings, who he sings with and how beautiful the songs are. Just hold my gut. .

he is simply one of the best artists in the world. giving a complete performance with just his guitar without fuss. for me as a dutch boy it's hard to understand much of the music they've been producing in recent years without first looking up the lyrics on the internet. whatever he sings, he speaks very clear and correct English, which I immediately hear what he sings without looking up.
I am so glad Ed decided to continue creating lyrics and music. Ed had already reached the level of a consummate song-writer and musician, but he took his music to an incredible high level of joyful aesthetics!!! Every recent song is a piece of art on its own!!! 💖
