I am "crushing" on New EDTech classroom. I think your tone, cadence, etc. when presenting is SUPER! Thank you for making such quality and useful videos.
Hey Sam... This is the first of your videos I've watched... Excellent pacing along with the student & teacher screen views is so helpful! We've made it through our first semester in-person, but it looks like after our holiday break, we're going to be either hybrid or fully remote. THIS is a great start to my own preparations for those teaching scenarios. I subscribed, so I'll be checking in regularly for new info as I grow my remote-teaching skill set. Thanks for such high quality videos, I can't imagine the time this takes along with your regular teaching responsibilities!?
Sam, your tutorials are a so helpful and user friendly! We have been using breakout rooms for a few weeks now. I’m just try to figure out how to pop in and out. I use a few devices simultaneously. I use the school desktop to present and set breakout rooms up. I’m also signed in on a laptop ,so I can still see my students while presenting.I have used jam board in the past, set them up and shared them with my students, but I am looking forward to trying it this way during a Google meet.Thank you!!!!
THANKS SO MUCH. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AS THEY ARE VERY COMPREHENSIVE. ARE YOU SAYING THAT THE EXTENSIONS FOR BREAK OUT ROOMS DO NOT WORK? INTEND TO TRY IT OUT FOR A STAFF MEETING
Sam, do you have the tutorial for breakout rooms in meet? I would like to know how to manage fixed groups, random groups and how to save the grouping for later activities!
Hi Lindsay, Yes, Dualless is good. I also like Tab Resize, which I talk a little bit about here in this video on Chrome extensions: ruclips.net/video/JlwiJLODKhk/видео.html
Thanks! Your videos are always so helpful! Do you know if there is a way to chat one-on-one with a student so I can touch base with an individual without everyone seeing the message? I'm not seeing anything and maybe it's not available yet, but just wanted to ask! Thanks, again!
thank you for the tutorial. The tile view only shows nine of my 20 students even though I’ve clicked on the option to show more. I’m work from a Mac. Why can’t I see more students?
Thank you. We have a problem of ending meet meeting together. Studens are allowed to stay and party alone :) Are there any possible ways to end meeting for all?
I cannot figure out how to get private comments from Google Classroom. I created a folder through filter option. Now I don't see them at all. Thank you, if you can advise on this issue.
The loomie live camera doesn't work at all. I have windows 10 and laptop is only 2 years old. I have downloaded it twice and restarted my laptop after downloading. It will not work. What are some other troubleshooting tips?
When I present my screen during Google meet, my students often complain about feedback noise. Do you have the same issue? Do you have suggestions? Thank you as always.
Hi Marty, try using headphones to see if that works. What's likely happening is that the mic on the other end is picking up the sound and sending it back through. That should go away when you use headphones.
You might need to go to your settings and make sure that you’ve selected your computer’s speakers for audio input/output. Or try opening up another program and playing the sound so that it registers and plays from the speakers.
I just wanted to let you know that I do have breakout rooms in my Google Meet. I've tried them a few times. My students are only 2nd graders so it's been a challenge.
Hi Melissa, Google seems to be slow-rolling out some of the features (like breakout rooms) to new accounts, but they aren't available for most users yet. Glad to hear you have them, and yeah, virtual learning with 2nd graders is definitely going to be a challenge, regardless of the tools you are using!
You don't have to use the new features like the Jamboard integration, host controls, and layout choices. They're just there now if you want to take advantage.

Thanks! No, just saying that the new breakout room feature is being slow-rolled out and isn't available for all users yet.
I missed your last live-session! 😭😭😭. Thanks for sharing all these strategies with us!!
Hi Regina, you can still watch the recording! Hope to see you at the next one!
@@NewEdTechClassroom I'll be there! Promise!

It's coming soon!
What is the easiest way to split your screen?
Use the extension dualless
Hi Lindsay,

You're welcome! No, unfortunately right now you can't send private messages in Meet, only Zoom.
thank you for the tutorial. The tile view only shows nine of my 20 students even though I’ve clicked on the option to show more. I’m work from a Mac. Why can’t I see more students?
Try hitting "control - " to see if that will show additional students
Thank you. We have a problem of ending meet meeting together. Studens are allowed to stay and party alone :) Are there any possible ways to end meeting for all?
You should just be able to remove participants (as long as you're a moderator) before you want to end the meeting. Best of luck!
Watching all the way in Jamaica
Thanks for watching!
These boys are the best in bringing awareness to this new norm of teaching

Hi Larissa, sorry I don't quite understand what you're trying to do. You can also reach me at newedtechclassroom@gmail.com
the generate link in the gclassroom doesn't work.. tried it before and my students cant just go inside meet
In that case your best bet might just be to create the link directly in Meet and then post it to your GC.
The loomie live camera doesn't work at all. I have windows 10 and laptop is only 2 years old. I have downloaded it twice and restarted my laptop after downloading. It will not work. What are some other troubleshooting tips?
Hi Milton, I'm sorry to hear that! I would definitely try reaching out directly to Loom.ai if possible!
I. Am requesting help since parents prefer google meets
Yeah it’s good to be familiar with both.
When I present my screen during Google meet, my students often complain about feedback noise. Do you have the same issue? Do you have suggestions? Thank you as always.
This happens to me since I use two laptops. I mute my microphone in my secondary laptop and that fixes it. If you are using one device then idk
@@yvonnecarrillo5494 thanks. Indeed I only have one device. Will keep searching fedora solution. Happy thanksgiving .

@@NewEdTechClassroom and we can't chat or send an announcement into the breakout rooms from the main room, which is a shame.
This seemed to have become much more complicated.

I prefer zoom
So do I 👍🏼
