Clementi, one of the best composer of the classical era, father of the modern piano. Far ahead of all the other contemporary composers. I am preparing my new recital with Clementi sonatas and work on his music every day is a blessing.
Clementi is highly undervalued... but he composed not only wonderful classical sonatas (I like them more than Mozart's) but also more deep pieces like this one, as a precursor of Romanticism.
Mozart referred to Clementi as a 'charlatan'. Certainly not true. Clementi composed many pieces of outstanding beauty and quality, and was well-respected as a good man by his contempories. His op.36 sonatas are gorgeous! As is this lovely piece.
Mozart himself was a cheater and liar. He decorated himself with strange feathers. Lately it has been discovered by Musicologists and Historians that, for instance,he isn´t the composer of "Jupiter Symphonie",or the "Pariser Symphonie". The true composer of these two Sinfonies is an italian, from whome Mozart copied them. He did not write one single not of them. A Plagiator
@@Nuraghes100 Mozart was NEVER a cheater nor probably a liar. You need to read some accurate bios before making comments like this. Also WHERE IN THE WORLD DID YOU READ THAT DE DIDN'T COMPOSE THE JUPITER SYMPHONY????? You're full of rubbish!

@@davidjohnson9796 David, cool down man. Yes, what Nuraghes writes is actually been around for a while: some musicologists have been dismantling the myth of Mozart for some years now and yes, doubts have been raised as to whether Mozart did actually compose those two symphonies (I think the composer they think might have composed them was Andrea Luchesi) and many other pieces. Whether that is true or not, or to what extent, I frankly would not dare to say.

1978 and this excellent recording? Full body and rich sound. I like Maria Tipo she plays so good.
Clementi's last, and perhaps finest, piano sonata, given a magnificent performance by Tipo.
There is so much beauty in the darkness of this piece!
Discovering Muzio Clementi and falling in love with his music!
Maria is magical with Clementi
Thank you upload! Brilliant both composer and pianist!
meravigliosa sonata/sinfonia !
stupenda MariaTipo
Maria Tipo is the best pianist of all time ... she is a sweetness to the ears.
There aren't words. Simply wonderful!!
so there are words
Che bel suono produce!

It's a wonderful recording. Thanks for sharing.
I thought Clementi was only a classical composer, but in this piece he's almost in the romantic era!

+JoeCembalo Very true yeah, real Clementi's problem is that everyone look at him just as a "Pre-Beethoven-Guy"
Try his 4th Symphony, sometime.
He started it with Beethoven
@@JoeCembalo I agree!
Thanks for uploading!
The first modern pianist/composer!
Celestial tinkling - I wish it could go on forever, not just 222 years.
Phenomenal! ❤
So nice a composition and play...

very nice ! !
Amazing.
exquisite, thank you! Will study it.
veramente
Still a classical piece in every way, though a highly emotional and poetic one at that.
És una sonata completament romàntica. Hi ha passatges que anuncien Chopin i modulacions wagnerianes.
I la Tipo ,autèntica aristòcrata del piano ,hi obra meravella!!

The date of composition you state (1800) is incorrect. I was written in 1821 although Scarlatti's influence is evident throughout
a socks-knocking performance!
