    Just watched the rest of the video... the wife and I were in stitches at the 'santa face' during the toboggan runs 🤣😂 Looked absolutely brilliant!!! We had fun in northern Norway this time last year and are getting ready for a trip in a couple of weeks to Svalbard this year. Can't wait now after seeing this. Cheers!!

    Definitely a Red Squirrel mate. When in there winter coat some are quite often grey. Only know cuz a friend is a wildlife photographer and does a lot of filming with the Squirrels up in Scandinavia

    Fun fact: That another Transit on the parkup at 0:24 has a small high roof extension. This is mandatory in Finland if you want to register a low roof van as a campervan. Rear cabin height has to be at least 185cm high and there are numerous other requirements also. Companies that build campervans in Finland are even lowering the floor to meet that height requirement.
    All this is because of high taxes on vans with seats in the back

    Now I'm watching your older videos chronologically backwards. Cool that you got to Siida, the Sámi museum. I visited that about 10 years ago but last time when I visited in Inari in 2021 it was closed because it was under renovation, so I wasn't able to go there again. That's a very interesting museum. Nice that you found that tire shop in Ivalo for fixing your issue.
    My good friend who used to live in very urban area in Helsinki made a huge life change and moved to Ivalo several years ago. He's very happy there now.
    That was cool in two meanings when you climbed to that sightseeing tower on Kaunispää fell after 18:00 in the video. I have been there too, but there wasn't any snow that time because it was September.

    Another great video, we’ve done that toboggan run many times it’s epic!! We’ve not managed to get back there in the last few years, you should have stopped at Annie’s bar in the town - great burgers 🍔

    It's definitely a red squirrel. Only red's have ear tufts (although juvenile reds don't yet have the tufts). Grey's have a white edge to the tail hairs - sometimes seen as a 'halo' effect at outer edges of the tail. Hope this helps bud! Thanks for another AMAZING video!!!       Just watched back the beginning. The clicking noise is the small fuel pump for the diesel powered engine preheater which was running at the start of the video to heat up the engine before starting and driving off

      The first video of each of my 3 arctic series shows the journey from the uk and the Arctic.
      Generally the channel tunnel and drive north through France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and in in Sweden

      Nope, studs are amazing on ice. But in the middle of winter mostly compact snow on the roads so it’s the tread doing the work. The transition between autumn and winter and then winter and spring. There is a lot of ice around the roads would definitely would need studs to be safe

      I don’t believe there are any car ferries from the UK to the Nordic’s anymore. I think the furthest north they go is Amsterdam. I personally dismissed that option myself as I found the driving to be cheaper, quicker and easier.
      There is a ferry from Denmark to Norway. Which is overnight and can cut out a few hundred miles of driving.
      Also there is a Germany to Sweden one as well

    Alex, loving the videos on this trip. I’m in mid Norway, no northern lights yet, but heading north. Are you still running 65psi on bfg ? Or did you drop pressure for the snow/ice etc?

      I’m still running 65psi all round. Not had a need to drop it yet, but the option is always there. Enjoy mild Norway and northern when you get up here

      Nope, my transit is only rear wheel drive. Whilst I would love the AWD version. But the Transit in snowy conditions with those tyres and being heavy rear wheel drive vehicle handling has been excellent.

    Don't worry, your pronounciation is great. For Inari, it would be something like [ in-uh-ree ], which is how you're pronouncing it so you're on top of the Finnish language game!
    I challenge you to drive to 'Aavasaksanvaara' and pronounce that in front of the sign.

      Yes, but they are meant to dig into the ground when breaking. The meant to hang over the edge, that’s why the toboggan tapers in at the front

    Pronounce for Ivalo and Inari
    Try to say it ”Ivalo”, with one A, like short A
    Same with Inari, short A
    Many foreing say Ivaalo, Inaari 😂
    So they stretch the A, we write and say it same way in finnish
    That why we have words with two aa, oo, ee, ii etc. if we want to pronounce it longer
    If that makes any sense 😂
