Nice design, but I'd say that your "competition" is more like, Nikken & Big Daishowa SK collet chucks. Nikken and Big have both demonstrated the advantages of the SK design over wider taper ER/TG style collets. I think the real test is in comparing this product, to those.
Ummm...no. while there are better systems for tool holding than this (regofix Powrgrip comes to mind, among others), I can see from the description of the video that this actually is a better designed holder geometry for the ER style collet. The trapezoidal threads are functionally superior regardless, and the fact that the collet nut receives compression fully from the top on the entire surface of the collet is just a better system mechanically speaking, aside from the other small advantages of this.
