I’ve really been praying for you guys since yhe first moment I head you were going to Belize. Last time my wife and I were there (Ambergris) we were stalked by a fairly large crocodile (not alligator). It kept following us in the mangroves and later out when we swam out of the mangroves towards our boat. It was large, persistent and then aggressive when we got back inside the boat. It did not like that we were now out of reach.
And we hear many similar stories. So please stay safe out there!

On Caye Caulker there were very few cars, mostly golf carts and bicycles. There is a bar there called “the split” that had picnic tables in the water. I found conch shells everywhere while snorkeling just off the beach. We had a “vacation pet” dog that stayed with us the whole time, we fed him all our leftovers. I loved riding my bike from one end of the island to the other in the morning listening to all the different birds.

Belize is one of the first and only places I've spear fished. I was like man they make this look so much easier on RUclips. Glad to know the fish are just super smart there 🤣

Saltines and fresh ceviche is the favorite of this old man. Very versatile dish. I can make it on my boat in Florida or my condo in the mountains.

I love Belize! Great Video as always. Quick tip on putting squid to sleep is just to squeeze them behind the eyes and before the tube. Puts them to sleep real quick.

Stir up the sand with your hand this sand swirl will draw the porgy attention enough to close in for a shots. Once the porgy big eyes lock on you. You will never get close. You have to call them in but they are one of the wildest fish in the ocean but taste so good

That used to be my "back yard." A good portion of my childhood was spent in the Mexican village of Xcalak. My stepmother was born in San Pedro. I believe that I had to go to Belize when my infection got bad from a bite.... Anywhoo, great blast from the past. Stay safe.

The way we hunt porgies here in Belize just don't look at them. Keep them in your Peripheral vision and you can pretty much pet them. 🇧🇿

It’s worth taking the boat ride to caye caulker as well. Spear fishing the reef off Caye Caulker last year was a bucket list item for me!
we rode by there on one of the other days. seems like a fun spot!

Great change of pace with Belize for an island getaway. I don't feel like it was just a spur of the moment thing either. I'm so looking forward to My vacation this year. Those brown patches of corals are Elkhorn. Common in shallow water - seen heaps of the diving in Tobago🤙🏼

I hope you can see why I said I miss staying in Belize now. I wish y'all had made the trip down to Caye Chapel. There was usually some great spearfishing around the channels through the reef at Caye Chapel and Caye Caulker. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Those islands are like my second home. Of course it has been 25 years since I have been there. I've never stopped missing it.

the people made the trip! everyone was so welcoming and kind. lots of different cultures, we went to one of the local garifuna restaurants the last day, was unbelievable. I talk about it a little in the next episode.
diving around eagle rays in Belize with my dad is still one of my best diving experiences. Very cool to see the KWW out there 🤙
