By your comment, you had similar symptoms? Did everything disappear after 8 months? Including the post-acute signs? How long were you on benzodiazepines?
They are only bad if you misuse them. My doctor told me that taking them two to three times a week maximum is not a big deal. Benzos are like alcohol on a pill since they target the same receptors. Three beers a week aint killing you.
This is a common misconception. Benzodiazepines are harmful once physical dependence develops, and they are not comparable to alcohol in pill form. Using them as little as three times a week is enough to develop physical dependence. We've had many people reach out to us for help after being harmed by frequent, intermittent use.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Our intention is to provide information and raise awareness about benzodiazepine tapering, neurological harm, and the many other potential harms associated with it. Many people have found our content helpful in making informed decisions about their health and in validating their experiences with these harms. We understand this topic can be distressing, and it's natural to feel scared. That doesn't mean we should stop talking about it, and we won't.

@@giannisrevealer3588 checkout Ashton Manual by Dr Heather Ashton. Might help.
@@blairsterling6141 Same here. 27 years also. You need something to help you sleep more hours because 4 hours could make your health worse. Something non addicting like Vistaril. Especially if you reduce and go down from 1.0mg. All the best, take care
@@allencollins6031 I know about the Ashton manual. There is a chance that i will switch to diazepam although clonazepam is long lasting too. Thank you 👋
Let’s talk about cold turkey cause I was abusing Valium it was pure hell didn’t think I would get back to myself it took 8 months then had a last year after taking some antibiotics for tooth ach .. been off benzo almost 4years stilling fighting now I’m having memory problems that’s the most terrifying for I fought so hard to get to where I’m now . Like take my hands my feet not my mind . I just started working out eating more heather since most meds or things can put you in a setback. I’m hoping things get better with my memory 😢
Love Brown how r u now
i don't understand half of these comments, the english is so bad. "then had a last year after taking antibiotics"
@@ex4mple69 I had a setback may bad
I have this bad feeling, like something moving inside my head, like electricity, is that normal?? Now am 5 months clean, also I have a tachycardia
It's a money thing. Bug pharma knows what this garbage does but it makes money
Pure poison. Unbelievable hell.
Allen, when i asked some psychiatrists which is the equivalent dose of 4mgs of Klonopin to switch into Valium they said " 23mgs of valium". The Ashton manual says different. And because i was on Alprazolam before, 2mgs, i think the dose is between 30 and 40mgs of diazepam. It's difficult to say exactly the equivalent dose. But it seems most of them are clueless. One doctor told me 17mgs of diazepam. I said yeah right. Unfortunately we got into this without any warning or informed concent 😥
@@giannisrevealer3588 yes they are clueless. They are clueless for even prescribing this stuff long term.
@@allencollins6031 I’m scared I’m down to last 7 mg Valium taper
@@giannisrevealer3588 - I believe the Ashton Manual states that 4 mg of Klonopin is equivalent to 80 mg of Valium!!!
@@Janet_Price 😯 That's a lot. But diazepam stays longer in your system
Can someone explain why she switched from xanax to valium? How does this help when tapering?
@@tinadixon8186 Thank you for explaining this. I’ve been reading very mixed reviews about switching over to longer acting benzodiazepines. Some people favor this, while others do not. And not everyone responds in the same way when tapering off benzodiazepines. It’s complicated for sure. Thanks again for your response to my question.
Google the Ashton manual to understand. It's to do with the half life of Xanax and diazepam
Diazepam have long half life that make taper easier.
The withdraw process can be done in 1/10th of the time using intense physical exercise. In my experience, at least, intense exercise and eating fruits and vegetables(and avoiding sugar!) are the 😊keys to overcoming benzo withdrawal. It was the toughest thing I have ever d😊
Charles I have parkinsons type synonyms and I am freaked out if it's parkinsons. I am 15 months off. Did u have such symptoms too???
@@aashish551 Yes I did. For the first 2-3 weeks I had the shakes pretty bad. But a buddy of mine got me started with walking. His comradery and the 20 minutes walks were essential to my mental, physical and most importantly spiritually recovery. I recommend AA or NA, along with prayer and exercising with a buddy.
@@aashish551 I did. I was even sent to a neurologist, but he said it was from medication, and not Parkinson's
@@aashish551that's what my doctor put me on him for I don't have Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis but I have tremors end shaking
Im on adco-alzam aka xanax for a week. Can I quit? How long will the withdrawel symtoms last?
My dosage is 0.25
My Dr s don't understand.. I'm gonna educate them. These videos should help if they care enough to do their homework.
Exactly like me
It took me 7-8 months I think under my psychiatrist help. But had to have seizures? Had to learn to walk, talk and chew every step down for first 10 days
I'm 29 and I went off 5+ years of Xanax almost cold turkey, and it literally almost killed me physically. I had stroke-like symptoms for weeks, even lost my ability to walk and talk. By your comment, you had similar symptoms? Did everything disappear after 8 months? Including the post-acute signs? How long were you on benzodiazepines?
@@NicknameNiko how many days did it take for you to begin e4xperiencing withdraw symptoms.
@@NicknameNiko what stroke lik symptoms did u have and how are you now?? Plz help me if u healed?? 1:36
LOL. "Had to learn to walk, talk and chew " "under my psychiatrist help"
Yeah he sure was a lot of help
@@NicknameNiko Why would you do the absolutely **worst** way possible to get off a psychoactive drug? lol don't complain please.
2 years. cold turkey.
Elaborate plz
21 months cold turkey
They are only bad if you misuse them. My doctor told me that taking them two to three times a week maximum is not a big deal. Benzos are like alcohol on a pill since they target the same receptors. Three beers a week aint killing you.
This is a common misconception. Benzodiazepines are harmful once physical dependence develops, and they are not comparable to alcohol in pill form. Using them as little as three times a week is enough to develop physical dependence. We've had many people reach out to us for help after being harmed by frequent, intermittent use.
You’re not helping! You’re only scaring those of us who still take them.
