The world is full of critics who have nothing equivalent to show for their own lives in action or experience. At least this band puts itself out there, takes that risk and accepts that challenge day in and out. If they don't like this band they're welcome to listen to someone else and most of us won't hold it against them. If other people happen to enjoy it I'm not sure why they're so quick to rain their sour opinions on another person's good party. This isn't a question of right or wrong, after all, and life's a little short for such battles when the goal is enjoying your preferred form of music. This sort of mental activity would be much more useful in numerous other places as evidenced by the fact that the world still has a lot of real, urgent problems to be solved.

Sadly since, I have lost over 28 friends, seen babies born addicted or with fetal alcohol syndrome. This is such a beautiful song, BUT at same time hurts the heart. So many chose to live that life because they find it easier to get high then to get right. I had my share of fights with that life addiction is nothing to joke around about and it is hard to walk away when it's a life you live for a long period of time, however if you truly want to change and you want to change for yourself ( because that's the only way the changes you want to make will actually last a lifetime) you will change. No matter what your drug if choice may be you can quit you can walk away from it you can choose to live a healthier life. Every hit you take every issue you draw back every capsule you pop or bump you snort is a cop out because you have no real reason to even want it at all, excuses are not reasons and excuses only deny yourself a chance to live another day. Our bodies were constructed to be able to heal ourselves naturally anything we consume that is poison to our mind bodies and souls can be naturally cleansed from us as long as we take the steps to start taking care of ourselves. Sleep is the number one thing that our bodies and minds need to heal next is hydration and then nutrition those three things are essential to having a healthy mind and body. Exercise whether it be walking jogging sex or a gym membership help aide the three by keeping your mind clear and focused, working finding a job or volunteering helps with regaining social skills and also helps regain trust in not just yourself but others as well. You choose your path in life you make all your own choices no one decides for you we were all given free will to make our own decision in life so when you say everything happens for a reason your right but you need to know you are the reason everything in your life happens no one but you can decided to walk away and start living life on life's terms. If you've already made the choice and your struggling right now just know life is hard it was never meant to be easy and anything worth having will never come easy so keep fucking going don't stop don't look back the past will only haunt you if you allow it to the future you want is there so keep reaching for it and you'll eventually be able to grab a hold of it. If your still knee deep in your addiction look at the glass as being half full not half empty. Just because your knee deep in that life doesn't mean you can't let go and walk out to the other side of life the side of life where you can be proud of the person you are the side where you can be with your family your loved ones that are waiting for you that want to help you even though you think they don't right now they honestly do we can't help those who won't help themselves first you have to take the first step no matter how big of a step it is you have to be the one to take it no one can do it for you. Don't let life keep passing you by it's still here waiting for you to live it no matter how long it takes you or how hard it is for you to get here it will always be here waiting for you. Please if your feeling suicidal in any way there are so many places to reach out to your worth it you have meaning and purpose here you just have to believe in yourself you have to believe that no matter what happens today or tomorrow that you are more then worth it you can an will be the person you truly want to be if you truly want to be that person. I was there because society, the school I went to, the people I’ve met in my life, and my father especially never gave one fuck about me so I resorted to cheating millions of years of evolution with chemicals just to be happy. First it was weed, then cocaine, then lsd, then magic mushrooms, then xanax, then methamphetamine, then fentanyl, and I’m sure more chemicals out there are waiting to go inside of me but I’ve never quit drugs. I’ll never quit because the damage is already done and I’m just waiting for the day I die. If anyone from Nickelback is ever reads this comment I thank you and all the other artists I listen to for giving me immense happiness without chemicals, with just sounds that resonate in my soul. But I thank god everyday for my mom(my dads gf) cause she helped me get through some tough situations. But through all me experiences it helped me see how much addicts struggle everyday and it has made me the person I am today.

I have a childhood best friend, we grew up together. But as we got older both of us went our separate paths. I went to college, started a career and got somewhere in life. However she went the opposite, bouncing from home to home, smoking, snorting, shooting any type of drugs she could get her hands on. She tried everything to get those drugs. Stealing, murder, robbery. to this day shes still in that hole. I've tried desperately to help her but all my attempts have been futile. She's like a sister and I never want to lose her, but I feel like her life will be cut short if she doesn't stop. And that scares me more than anything. This song reminds me of her so I listen to it all the time.

siberian mustang thank you so much for commenting. It really means a lot. My dad is actually clean now. My "egg donor" on the other hand I don't speak to so who knows if she is clean or not. But I thank god everyday for my mom(my dads gf) cause she helped me get through some tough situations. An I thank god everyday for my amazing fiancé because he brings a smile to my face and wipes away my tears. He is the one who showed me this song. But through all me experiences it helped me see how much addicts struggle everyday and it has made me the person I am today.

Drugs ruin people because they're addictive and shouldn't be messed with anyways. And it is sad to see a once great person who used to have drive and ambition become this sad careless hopeless shell of a person.
There's no worse feeling in the world than watching someone you care about piss their life and their talent and intelligence away and you would think so too if you ever went through it because those are the kind of wounds that take awhile to heal.

And when someone is killing themselves on a drug, it's time to walk away. You have ZERO obligation to stick around. Wether it's family, or friends. A person can only help so much until it's no use. The only thing you can do as a decent human being, is walk away. Do no allow them to take you down with them. See, you're already in that thought process. You hate watching loved ones give their entire lives and first born sons to these drugs? WALK AWAY. That will be the most helpful thing you can do. If thy can't see that you are that point, then they need more help than you will EVER be able to give them. At some point, being addicted to drugs is NOT a victim anymore. They have chosen their paths and you need to choose yours.

I have a childhood best friend, we grew up together. But as we got older both of us went our separate paths. I went to college, started a career and got somewhere in life. However she went the opposite, bouncing from home to home, smoking, snorting, shooting any type of drugs she could get her hands on. She tried everything to get those drugs. Stealing, murder, robbery. to this day shes still in that hole. I've tried desperately to help her but all my attempts have been futile. She's like a sister and I never want to lose her, but I feel like her life will be cut short if she doesn't stop. And that scares me more than anything. This song reminds me of her so I listen to it all the time.
