I'm glad SoS came up with their own versions of these bars. I tried ordering the standard ones earlier this year and SoS said they haven't gotten any in a long time
thanks again for the great infos ! I only did the lower brace as the other one wasn't available anymore, but if I had to add it, I think I'd pick the aftermarket model that can be installed above the battery tray, without removing the bumper or the radiator
Thank you! It will be a couple weeks for my next videos since I just received my transmission back. I need to work on getting it back into the car and up and running again before i can make more videos. Won't be long though! thanks for watching!
Oh man I just installed the lower tie bar and it cleared and didn’t touch anything after bolting everything up. However, after putting the car back on the ground , I find that the factory front swaybar is literally touching and resting on this new front tie bar that I just installed. 😮 Your swaybar looks like it is offset back a bit. Which front swaybar are you running? Car is a 91 NSX btw
Interesting. I have a type R sway bar. Maybe call sos and see what they say. I know they sell a spacer kit for aftermarket sway bars but stock should clear. So not sure why yours is touching.
@@ChrisLumNSX I am having the exact same problem as the guy in post #77 in the NSX Prime thread titled: "NSX-R bars DIY install procedure". It is on page 4 of that thread (in the DIY forum). He posted some photos of the factory 91 sway bar sitting right on top of the lower chassis brace. This looks exactly like how mine is right now. I just ordered the spacer kit from SoS but not sure if I will be using it. From their product pic, it looks like the 3 sets of small spacers are used to bring the battery tray lower and the pair of bigger spacers are used to drop the tie bar. This lowers the whole setup a bit but would also decrease ground clearance. At this point, I am leaning towards upgrading my front sway bar. I think the NA1 NSX-R sway bar is slightly smaller at 21mm vs the NA2 NSX-R at 22mm. Are you using the Type R sway bar from the NA1 or NA2?
Didn't drive it yet, my car is still down as I've just got my transmission back from the builder a couple days ago. I'll get my car running next week hopefully and will film a video of my reaction to the various mods that I've been doing.

Same! the OEM bars are so sporadic in production--that usually mean they're on the verge of being discontinued too.

I've seen those and they look like a good option as well.
I need to check the bumper hooks after watching this.
Perfect timing!! Ive been waiting for the oem nsx-r ones, but ended up buying the sos ones.
Cool, let me know if you have any questions when you install them!
nice videos, looking for more NSX clips from you!

Great video, makes me want to get them too 🤔
Go for it!
SOS comes out with a new product. 2 days later: How to install NSX-R Chassis Braces on the NSX
Chris Lum is a Legend
Haha I just happen to have a lot to do to my car
Love these install videos, so helpful! 😊👍
Glad you like them!
You can vinyl wrap the bar black so you cant see it from the front.
I actually prefer to see it!
The OEM NSX-R tie bar has 1/4 - 1/2" clearance with the battery tray bar. I wonder if the SoS copy is a little off? Great video BTW.
Thanks, not sure what the reason. Could be my car too. I'll have to see if others with the SOS bar have the same results.

@@p9r4ex8dykI just measured mine and it looks to be 22mm
Did you go and drive it, and feel the difference ;)

Slow down bro! I cant keep up! T_T
Its hard to believe that this will do anything noticeable. I like it though =P
People actually say it makes a big difference
@@ChrisLumNSX Guess I'll throw it on the list!
Definitely do! they're not too expensive either.
Hello, at 16:48 do you know what page in the service manual that has the torque specs for those bolts?
Sorry I don’t know off hand. But it will be in the front suspension section.
Thanks! These videos give me motivation to work on my car in the garage on the weekends which is where I’m at right now. 😊
Awesome that’s why I make these videos!
