Not really. He is saying both tier I & II grads do the same thing in the company and have same roles but the salary is different. That's not at all the case. On paper designation of a software engineer is going to be of SDE-I but someone from T1 college would directly be working on core priority projects while someone from T2 would be doing merely data entry of codes.

Go and see minimum cs placements. Even top IITs cs have minimum placements of like 7-9 lpa. The only college with 15 lpa+ minimum placement for cs is IIIT Hyderabad due to its amazing curriculum and no reservation policy.
It doesn't matter what your salary is when you start. You just need to give your 100 percent at whatever you do and enjoy your work

If you are from Karnataka then apply for government engineering college there fees are very less 17k per year, if you are eligible for scholarship then you get 15k, total being 2k only per year.
Note :- maybe fees are increased now.

Im from iitr mech, 24 ctc, most of my batch is placed in product based companies, even in microsoft amd amazon, get into top 7 iits in any branch, you will get enough opportunities

What is Service based & product based, Can someone give an example
Product based companies are those which make their own products and earn money through them eg Microsoft, Amazon, etc.
Service based companies will provide technical/IT/geeky support to other companies eg TCS, Accenture, Wipro etc. It is harder to get into product based companies and they also pay higher than service based company. But top service based companies are good for starting career and the focus should be on learning and upskiling so that you can promote/change job with higher package.

1. Where you graduated out of.
2. How skilled you are in general.
I don't understand why people bash those who say they are getting higher salaries. Also, when they quote lower salaries, it suddenly becomes realistic and believable.

State government college mile jaha 15-30k mein 4 saal btech hojaye toh fir karo warna abhi halat acche nhi he ki lakho daaldo degree pe, engg fresher job market is bad.
I am from IIT and not even a single company is allowed below 6 lpa. In case of IT companies generally package is above 12 lpa whether it is service based or product based.
After the placement session is over and a pool of students are left to be placed then only college allows company with lower packages to visit the campus.

Many times in campus placement companies don't allowed students to sit who are having more than one year gap after 12th.. But max companies allowes for 2 yr gap. But I would suggest you to take lower nit good branches. You will not regret after 4 years..

Merit rank in entrance exams gives you free rank in universities. Free seat means waiver in college fee but he has to pay all other fees. Payment seat means one has to get into college without a rank. But people are interested to bring him down in the name of caste even though they have no idea of his caste.
