I had to do this one time, but that taught me a valuable lesson. I keep my vehicles longer than most people do so every 2 years I remove and replace ALL brake bleeder screws. I've found that in that time period it's too short for them to become seized and it's an easy job that's not very costly. You won't even need to bleed the brakes unless you want to as part of the vehicle's maintenance.
Whenever I open a bleeder , I wire brush the threads and put a film of anti seize on the threads . Also on thermostat , exhaust and other bolts that rust .
I replace mine with titanium bleed nipples and do a brake fluid change every 2 years
If doing the job at home start applying a good penetrant to the bleeder screw a week before you do the job. A couple applications can save you a lot of screwing around and expense.
Any recommendations for a good penetrant?
@@lucasjennings6084Brakeleen or WD-40
Kroil, it's pricey but would have saved all that work
I had success by MIG welding a flat washer to the bleed screw and then welding a nut to the washer, the heat penetrates quickly and then quickly cool the area with wet cloth. The nut had good leverage the heated and cooled screw lost its adhesion.
you know what's worse?
when the reverse drill bit brakes off in the hole... that happened to me a week ago..
good job getting yours out.
A similar thing happened once and we had to replace whole brake caliper..
Happen to me too I try heated and cool with wd 40 and I break the easy out bit in the bleeding screw had to buy new pairs of caliper
Don’t forget to use a little anti-seize when you put the new blender screw in
Great job.
Boil a kettle and pour hot water over the alloy. Saves burning rubber seals.
What is the alloy.
how long do u do tjis for? then what
Happend me today. Hammerd in a dewalt torx bit and sprayed som penetrating oil on the bleder screw. Then the torx snapped off.. time to weld a nut on and give it another try
Huh.. Found out after getting a raybestest caliper set on I noticed the bleeder was broken off. They where nice to include a new one in the box 😒
Good job. The worst is the music, then this happen.
if you are using heat, pour lots of water after you stop heating.
Ese perno sale más fácil !!!
Designed to break so you have to buy new calipers.
These is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo true 😂😂😂😂😂 that's how they make money 😂
A little anti-seize would go a long way
Saan po shop niyo?
Saan location nyo?
leaving WD40 treatment for an hour and then boilwater pouring then extraction be easy
Aerokroil for rusted fasteners. But in the case of the bleeder shown, threads seemed pretty good - it was gunked up down the bore below the threads. Somebody needs to service those a little more often...
I change fluid and bleed every two years - just simply exercising that fitting helps prevent problems later, and always keep dust caps on/replace any starting to crack. I suspect that fitting had been naked for many years.
Can we drive the car without changing calliper bleeder screw
Crappy drill
easier to buy a caliper
Yup as long as it's for a go cart
Junk caliper.
