For whomever will want to know - there IS a 50 pack of these available, and after driving me insane and chasing down the answer, I can tell you that the only difference between the 50 and 48 is that the 50 pack has an additional black and peach.
My toddler got ahold of mine and lost a few of the caps. I found them like a month later and the pens would barely write but I dipped the end in water and put the cap back on to see what would happen. The next day they were good as new! :)
I don't consider myself heavy handed but the nibs of mine always wear down and flatten before the pens run out of ink! Looking forward to the thunderdome I might actually try some new fineliners!
If you put lid on make sure you hear it click before finishing. This way it doesn’t stay loose at all, as was your experience. Hope this helps. Thanks for a good insight into the pens. Beryl Lucy. Uk.
I found you a few days ago and have watched about 30 hours of your videos. I love your honesty and humor! You inspired me to buy a Scribbles that Matter Bullet Planner and I’ve been going HARD on it! Thank GOD for Amazon Prime! I started uploading to my channel again and now I’m not afraid to be who am...and not give a Fuuuu😉!
First comment! I love these pens. Only ones I use for my bullet journal. I buy them individually because it felt like less of an investment when I first started out. It's so hard to choose between all the shades though.
I have been using the Staedtler pens since I started my first bujo back in May 2016. I really love them. I bought a 20 pack back then and still use the same ones. The only pens I’ve replaced have been the black (I buy a 6 pack separately) and the biggest downside that I’ve noticed to these pens is that the nib (?) will disappear into the metal after lots of use. They also lose their ease in writing because the nib becomes flattened, making you have to write at a specific angle in order to get the ink to properly show. But honestly, they only do this after I’ve been pressing too hard while drawing borders and such. I never noticed it with just regular writing. Cindy, I’m so glad to see your thoughts on these (and I might have to get a bigger pack now) because not many people seem to film with them. I’ve always wondered why. Thanks for what you do!
My triplus have a very fine number impressed on the barrel :\ That number corresponds with the color chart on their website. It is very hard to see tho
I can confirm Just mari's comment. There are faint numbers at the bottom of the pen. For instance, there is a "036" on the "Indigo Blue" and a "008" on the "Gray". To match the colors with the numbers, refer to the MODEL NUMBER of each fineliner on the SPECIFICATIONS page on JetPens.
I bought a grey triplus fineliner for inking and I was surprised by how much I loved it! Thanks for making this video, I was not sure how good the rest of the color set will be. You did an excellent review! However I am still curious how well they blend with one another.
Fyi... there is a 24 pack of “amazon basics” that are pretty awesome for cheaper pens... not that you want to add to the thunder dome 😂 but I got them today and I’m impressed. Range of color, dries fast but doesn’t have color names like these
Cindy, I'm a Stabilo girl as you. However, since I use some fine liners for studying and coding information and I try not to be distracted by anything, I prefer Staedtler because they don't have that orange body (it really distracts me... Unfortunately!). I buy mine (Stabilo and Staedtler) easily (I'm living in Portugal, Europe), they are quite affordable here. I advise you to try the Schneider Line Up. Although the triangle shape, they are extremely smooth. AND... Each color has got a name ;) would love to see a review on them from you. BTW, I absolutely love your videos!
I have the 48 pack n the missing colors out of that pack are the six pastels and six nature colors! Target used to carry those two six pack sets awhile back!
Cindy, can you do a review on brush pens? I have started watercoloring finally to help cope with my life. I want one that travels well. If anyone has one they love to travel with, let me know!
tri like triangle, plus like... well... plus LOL Theyre my favorite, not gonna lie!! ((I also have the triplus color (their standard felt tip pen) which I use for coloring books =)
Hey Cindy, As another suggestion for the thunderdome, there is also the Staedtler pigment liners. I find they’re similar to Microns and they don’t have the triangle barrel. They hold up longer for me compared to others but I’m curious how they’d survive your iron grip.
I don't know about in the US, but in AUS, when you buy them individual they do have the colour number on the barcode. not very helpful if you don't buy them that way tho (and who would when its so much more expensive) but just thought it was something to note.
Just wondering if you like the pens minus the barrel shape, could you put a rubber pencil grip around to soften the feel? Probably too anoying but just a suggestion.
Not sure about this because I’m not familiar with art definitions, but aren’t water-based and water-resistant the opposite of one another? And they’re water based, so I’d automatically assume they would smear with water. But, as I said, I’m ignorant about art definitions.
I love the look of these pens but being a person who doesn't color code much I don't think it would be something i would buy. unlesstey have a pack of 48 blacks
I have the 48 pack and it is just as good to use to coloring in stuff with as it is to write with them. I really like them. In Sweden the 48 pack costs around 35 dollar.
hi cindy, nice video. but actually they have a number but it's hidden on the bottom of the liner. it's kinda tricky to look at it at first but it's a lovely pen, one of my favorite💗
paperpirate These are almost identical to Stabilo 88s, and most reviews that I’ve seen comparing the two have found that to be the case. I have both, and really can’t tell any difference. They’re both from German-made companies, so it’s also a good quality product. You wouldn’t miss anything if you didn’t try the Staedtlers.
I've been using these pens for at least 8 years and I have never had a problem with the caps falling off. :( However, after my very first purchase, at which time the stand up case worked perfectly, every time since the stand up case is jenky (did I spell that right?) as hell. I feel sad that you don't have the same amazing experience I do when using them. Also, I can't believe . . . you killed the black right out of the gate. LOL
Personally I don't like the triangle shape either, it feels unnatural/uncomfortable. Also they do have numbers on them, on the pen barrel at the bottom. It's small and craved into the plastic so it's quite easy to miss.
Great video - I went through that same thing of trying to match the colors. They have the number stamped on them at the bottom - it's barely noticeable. If you go to www.staedtler.us/en/products/ink-writing-instruments/fineliners/triplus-fineliner-334-triangular-fineliner/ you can match the colors, except for the neon.
Everyone is jumping on the Arteza bandwagon. Just wondering if you've tried any of their products, brush markers, fineliners, watercolor pencils, watercolor paint? If not that's my suggestion. I bought the 96 count of fineliners before they had the pretty tin they come in now and a lot of them were defective. So they sit in a pen case mostly unused. Maybe the quality is better with the pretty tin, because everyone that tries them swears by them and I'm just like....eh.
Kim Possible Don’t do it!! First of all: you can’t pass up German workmanship, especially if you’re going to invest in art supplies that will/might need to last a long time, will have to last just as long in your artwork, and will have to set and maintain a high standard. Second, and this is not a comment against you, but Arteza: a quick Google search, and I couldn’t tell you where Arteza products are made, but I can tell you that they have a high disapproval rating, regardless of what people are purchasing. I am an art supply whore/nerd/collector/what have you, and after my own research I personally wouldn’t suggest anything other than the Staedtlers (Stabilo 88s are a great duplicate, but again - German engineering! 😉).
Well, after my research and buying some Arteza products, I had no issues. Things work just fine, especially considering I don't make money from my art, but I want things to work properly. Did you contact Arteza about the problem, or did you decide it wasn't worth the effort? I ask because every account I've seen of people complaining about a defective product had their issue fixed.
I didn't, it just wasn't worth it in the end. I've had them for a while and I've barely used them or any fineliners, for that matter. I've tried using the ones that work in my bujo to get some use out of them and I'm still just like, eh.
I wish you people would unwrap Mummies bubble wrap & find things out for yourselves for a change. If you can look it up on RUclips, you can look it up on Google, Amazon, need I go on? Or how about supporting your local art supplies gig? By the time you ditch delivery charges there’s not much difference & you’d be helping keeping a small business family keep their floaties blown up. But first things first... G-O-O-G-L-E. You can do it!
yeah these pens are great besides the effing cap.. it feels like a fail in design when they don't think about that the best way to store the cap is on the end of the pen.. i've seen the 48 pack several times and everytime i see it i want it, but i don't wanna pay for it x) but i own a 10 pack and i do enjoy the actual pen so i think it could be worth the money if i start using them more.
I HATE THAT THE CAPS DONT STAY ON THE BUTT OF THE PEN!!!! Also, they say they are for coloring books too, but fuck coloring with these things. They do NOT look good. Not like you're used to with a Copic or a Tombow, that's for sure. I loved your review though. I really find your reviews quite accurate as I also try many of the same pens/markers you review.
When I am listening to a video and suddenly someone uses the f word, I'm outta there. It seems disprespectfufl to those who find it offensive, plus it aint classy. It's an ugly word and I go to art videos for beauty. Bye!
For whomever will want to know - there IS a 50 pack of these available, and after driving me insane and chasing down the answer, I can tell you that the only difference between the 50 and 48 is that the 50 pack has an additional black and peach.
thank you! I'm gonna pin this - haha
I brought the 42 package at Target for 34.99 its kinda pricey but whatever
There is also a 60 pk on amazon xx
My toddler got ahold of mine and lost a few of the caps. I found them like a month later and the pens would barely write but I dipped the end in water and put the cap back on to see what would happen. The next day they were good as new! :)
amazing o.o
I don't consider myself heavy handed but the nibs of mine always wear down and flatten before the pens run out of ink! Looking forward to the thunderdome I might actually try some new fineliners!
Capn Polo I have this same problem!!! I’ve hade my pens for 2 years, but some of them have worn down. Frustrating!
Try Stabilo finelinelers, I'm heavy handed too and they seem to withstand my heavy hand more than the Staedtler pens.
Y’all get like from me because this was more informative than the actual video so thank you
If you put lid on make sure you hear it click before finishing. This way it doesn’t stay loose at all, as was your experience.
Hope this helps. Thanks for a good insight into the pens. Beryl Lucy. Uk.
I might need to buy these, despite the triangular shape. Thanks enabler Cindy!
When I get pens without numbers I number them myself with stickers because it drives me nuts not knowing for sure what color I'm getting >_
Miss Ross I plan on doing it on these fineliners and the Crayola Supertips too. Best solution!
I love your ocd 😭
they have numbers on bottom but shes blind i guess
" This one is brand new.... fu?k. " 🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣

I wish my Michael's wouldn't always be sold out of them though!
I got my pack of20on amazon check out some of their specials xxx

These are my favorite pens. I also have the dual tip.

Yaaaaaaaaaas Queeeeeeen, love mine just the 20 pack but bought pack of 6 0.3 nib I live them xxx huge love n hugs xxxxx

Have you tried the Schneider Topliners? I use those and I really love them.
If you look reaaaalllly, reaaaally closely, towards the butt-end of the fineliner, there should be a tiny number imprinted on the barrel!
I really like the way you do your reviews!
I have the 48 pack n the missing colors out of that pack are the six pastels and six nature colors! Target used to carry those two six pack sets awhile back!
Papermate Flairs pleaseee. Great video btw
Can you take a look at the crayola jelly pens?
If you do keep pressing down hard, the tip will get shorter as well. That's the main reason I don't use them anymore. I love all the colors though.
They do have a number on them. It's barely visible, but it is there :)
I did not know about the triangle barrel of these. Good to know I’ll skip them :) thanks!
How do they write on overhead transparencies?
What is the type of book/pages you’re using? I.e what are the search terms I can use to find it online/in stores.
Cindy, can you do a review on brush pens? I have started watercoloring finally to help cope with my life. I want one that travels well. If anyone has one they love to travel with, let me know!

Anybody know what the best set with metalic colors like gold would be? Can't seem to find anything about them anywhere
Just wondering if you like the pens minus the barrel shape, could you put a rubber pencil grip around to soften the feel? Probably too anoying but just a suggestion.

That’s drawing pen. It’s meant to write fatter when you press hard and write thin when you’re not.
hi cindy, nice video. but actually they have a number but it's hidden on the bottom of the liner. it's kinda tricky to look at it at first but it's a lovely pen, one of my favorite💗
Always wanted to try these, but I always feel like I'm cheating on my trusty Stabilos!!!!

these don't work for me when i write at an angle, so i can't use them. it's a pity because i do love them
I found the number near the top of the pen
I've been using these pens for at least 8 years and I have never had a problem with the caps falling off. :( However, after my very first purchase, at which time the stand up case worked perfectly, every time since the stand up case is jenky (did I spell that right?) as hell.

i wasn't even pushing that hard, I swear! hahahaha
Take a look at the Zebra Sarasa Vintage 5 set. The item is amazing and you will probably like it.
Can u tell what's the price of this
thanks for this :)
There are numbers imprinted on the base of the barrel, but are extremely small and hard to see. These numbers correspond with a color chart on line.
Personally I don't like the triangle shape either, it feels unnatural/uncomfortable. Also they do have numbers on them, on the pen barrel at the bottom. It's small and craved into the plastic so it's quite easy to miss.
I think you have the warm sepia and brown mixed up in your bujo
dude, it's entirely possible. i came so close to throwing ALL the pens at the wall when I was trying to figure shit out.
Great video - I went through that same thing of trying to match the colors. They have the number stamped on them at the bottom - it's barely noticeable. The 42 count was numbers written on the back of packing. But the colors doesn't match the name 🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆
HOW TO BUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and how much money is it

Jet pens also sell a permenant version
yeah these pens are great besides the effing cap.. it feels like a fail in design when they don't think about that the best way to store the cap is on the end of the pen.. i've seen the 48 pack several times and everytime i see it i want it, but i don't wanna pay for it x) but i own a 10 pack and i do enjoy the actual pen so i think it could be worth the money if i start using them more.
The way you hold a pen is why it bent.
Fineliner I just use papermate flair best fineliner ever.

But thing is in my country colors are numbered 🤔
these are kind of scratchy on the paper tbh
SHTET ler, not Statler.
I hate statetlers!! Every time I write with them they skip.
Different brand than staedtler. ... unless you can not spell!
loved all of your vids, but disliked them all unfortunately, DO NOT SWEAR.
Why do you have to cuss? There are so many other ways to get a point across the have to say F!@# often? What is the point?
Burley Man Maybe this isn’t the video for you, my dude.
