    Thank you, that was a very good comparison between the two pens. You helped me make up my mind!

    Thank you for very detail of comparison! I have 4 Staedtler pens for some notes and I'm happy with the fluidity of their ink. After watching your video, I appreciate the look of Stabilo more because the wood-color barrel looks comfort to me than metal-color of Staedtler. Also the simple design of Stabilo cap (with out the clip) makes it easy to storage in any jar (we all know these pens should be kept tip down so the ink doesn't run far away the tip). But I think I won't buy these 2 brands more because I'm looking for some pens that is not water soluble.

      You're right... pen storage should be done either with the tip down or with the pen in a horizontal position. And it does make it harder for pen spacing if the cap has a clip. I only use Stabilo and Staedtler when I need to blur the lines for a more watercolor effect. But for note taking, where by all means we need our notes to stay permanent, I use a fountain pen and permanent fountain pen inks. There are lots of good brands out there, and in so many beautiful colors too.

    Thanks, this has helped me make my decision on which set to buy. I may stick with a cheaper, generic imitation since they all seem to bleed thru the same amount and I don't use them very often.

    Hi Ginger, I like both brands, for me the Stabilo fine liners have been around for so many years, and I still like them, but I do prefer the Staedtler fine liners, I find them easier to hold for any amount of time and they don't feel as "scratchy " as the Stabilo, plus I feel they have more color saturation. Have you tried the Uni EMOTT fine liners yet? Oh my goodness, they come in all sorts of beautiful colors and you can buy them in small sets of themed colors. They are smooth , full of color, and have the best storage system, a hard white plastic holder that stands upright with a snug spot for each pen. The one drawback with these is they tend to leave a little dab of color at the end of what you write or draw until you get used to using them. They are a little pricey and don't come in as many colors as the Stabilo and Staedtler but they are fun to just play with. Thank you for your review, hope all is well. Blessings, Linda 😊🤗🙏🙏🙏🎨🖼

      Oh my dear Linda. Upon reading your comment, I rushed to Amazon to search for the Uni Emott. Oh gosh, I fell in love! But I had to contain my excitement. The price point is so steep especially with shipping fees added. The Japanese do make the best art supplies. I've been dreaming of traveling to Japan just to get a haul of watercolors, pens, fountain pens, and markers from there. Thanks for the art tip!

      @@GingerUmali Hi Ginger, you are so welcome, I can't remember if I had warned you about the steep price point, they are expensive here in the U.S.A. as well, It has taken me two years to occasionally get a set of four or ten, or e few looses stock. It's funny you mentioned wanting to go to Japan to buy art supplies, I have thought of doing that (if I had the money) . Japan makes some of the best supplies, especially liners,markers and such. Hope things are going great for you, God bless.🤗💖🖼🎨🙏

    a new friend of mine gave me 18 stabilo friends for my birthday (how did she know i love stationery?!) i tried out a pink one to write in my journal... IT WORKS SO WELL. the ink did not run out one bit. i'm so thankful to have these pens, and they'll be super helpful for lineart!!
    i've never tried staedtler pens so i have no personal opinion on them😂

      hey, now that (im assuming) you've been using them for a while do they last pretty long? i've been down a rabbit hole of drawing with these super cheap fine liners i got at the dollar store, but my only issue is that i wish the ink lasted a bit longer so i'm looking for an upgrade lol

      @@xeon2773 hello, to be honest i haven’t used them as often as i thought but i use the black one the most. i last used them for a school project recently and the ink is still very vibrant! so i’d say they last quite long, definitely recommend.

    What kind of gesso do you use to prep bible pages? Also, how to you apply it? Thanks for this video. I am trying to choose finalizers now. Be blessed.

    • @GingerUmali
      @GingerUmali  2 месяца назад

      I only use Liquitex gesso and apply it thinly on some pages because I don't want the writing to be completely covered. But most of the time, I use Liquitex gloss medium which is transparent. Blessings back to you too

    Thanks for the comparison Ginger. I was unaware Stabilo also made pens. I use their pencils occasionally. How unfortunate they both ghost and bleed through on thin paper.

      Thanks for watching Rae. I felt bad too that the pens failed the bible paper test. It's really quite difficult to find a fineliner that works on thin paper. Only Sakura Pigma microns worked for me.

      Thanks for watching Melissa. For bible journaling, it's best to use Sakura pigma micron pens with the thinnest nib of 005 or 01. I've done a more comprehensive review of pens for bibles and tested them on thin bible pages. You can check the results here ... ruclips.net/video/ARRms9xml8o/видео.html ... I hope this helps.

    Staedtler is my choice. Staedtler is 100% cruelty free..... no evidence that Stablio is also cruelty free and doesn't test on innocent animals. I encourage people to do research on brands you are supporting because what they do to these animals is absolutely sickening. If you ever need to see what's going on before it comes to the consumer, Google it. You will change your mind. The torture needs to stop. Pass it on
