I live in Balwyn North and am extremely concerned about jamming in 10k more social housing units into comberwell junction then this idea to jam more social housing into Kew junction is just as bad. I am trying to get to the CBD using tram 48 and it’s been absolute gridlock. Kew junction and barkers road backed up for kilometres. This journey to travel only 10 km will take about 90 min. It will get far worse with this change. The state killed the east west link. It never built the Doncaster rail and doesn’t plan to. The council has blocked parking at the rail stations. The state wants to jam in people but where is the new freeway. Where are the new trains, road lanes and trams? Where are the new schools? Where are the new medical clinics? Where is the additional playgrounds? The land is extremely expensive here as it has all been developed. No funding at all for that. I say Jam all these people into Nillimbik where land is cheap and plentiful, close to the city, and there is space to build all the amenities. Australia is one of the least densely populated countries on earth. Plan to put people in places that can handle it rather than expensive locations where nobody will ever afford or pay for all the other improvements that need to go with it. I will not vote for any candidate who supports this current path

Should we not protect our land if we have/own our land and home?
