Love your play through, question the guy playing this from NJ is playing on a 25.5 scale ESP. How is he doing this is a 25.5 enough to drop to G & G# I saw him move last night same guitar. If so what guage do you think he’s using on his low E?
Very nice, I want to learn some Norma jean songs myself, would you ever consider placing the tab on songsterr?.This app really helps new guitar players.
Oh man I wish I had the time to do tabs, would love to be able to contribute to the community in that way. I've done some for other songs but it takes me way longer than to make these vids. I usually just sit down for an hour at a time and bang these out by ear. I did a tutorial lesson on Spearmint Revolt by Norma Jean, if I did some more of those would that help??
@@KevinEDF Deadly I'll do some up! Just drop comments on any of my vids that you'd like to see a tutorial for. And any new song requests as well! I'm always looking for new stuff to do
Question, around 0:45 the left guitar has this really odd textured, dissonant harmony. It sounds also like some kind of squeak. What is that about? It is my favorite part of this song.
Just 25.5" standard scale on this one, using 10s. Bottom string was definitely floppy, but made for an easy bend on the low part of the riff! If I was playing in this tuning all the time I'd definitely be using a heavier gauge for the low string, but I use this guitar for a lot of different styles
1:25 for the pitch wham riff
So satisfying
@@iron_tyson That whole riff is definitely the standout of the song for me
Behold the Messiah of the rifflord, for he hath blessed us with another juicy 2 minutes of banger riffage!
Riffage for all!
Dank as always dude!
Much appreciated thanks, this album has some wild riffage!
killed it!
Thanks!!
Dope, Mate!
Thanks!! This whole album is a beast!

He's probably using a heavy bottom/medium top set!

They are just sweeping a wah over while playing the riff! Sounds awesome though I agree!!
Is that a baritone? What guage are you using in the low?

I don’t think they use the whammy just octave up and slide up and down the neck
Yup that's how I first learned to play it, decided to use the pitch wham just for fun after. But sliding is the way to go as well!
