ELDs are THAT bad. I've run both paper & ELD and there's no "not having to work so hard" with an ELD. I much preferred being able to run when I wanted & sleep when I wanted with paper. I'm not talking split sleeper berth; I'm talking loose leaf logbook and a paper shredder in the truck.

Hello Kurt! Im retired now and when this ELD crap first came out I felt exactly as you do now. I had a good job and had too much time in it to quit, so I had the pleasure of ELD life. And partner that with the autoshift transmissons that mega carriers went to because of the drive train warranties on new equipment, I soon realized that I was perfectly happy not shifting gears or drawing lines. Yes, I was one of them that dead against both of those. Be safe out there

I have a degree in military history after I drove Truck for a few years 12 to be exact and I have interviewed probably 300 veterans of all phases of military life, some of them went through some horrendous experiences and some peeled potatoes in fort dix respect to all of them

I live in Indy and we got the full eclipse. They said it was terrible Monday afternoon for the traffic leaving town . I have a beautiful picture if it. It got dark at my house just south of downtown Indy for two minutes

The bunny used to give out ice cream bars to all drivers back when I went in and out of there, then opie would've got some ice cream😂, congrats to Troy for the bird, live the idea that you have them shooting trap my youngest son used to do that also, I never got the opportunity but have a dad who in his younger days was a avid hunter and made all of us take the safety course and get licensed to hunt, stay cool and hope to run into someday
Sometimes elds ,are a pain in the backside. I got a call to cattle, last night. No elogs it was a good night. I got to be a driver instead of a steering wheel holder.

I dont blame you for not liking the dark Opie, my night vision isnt what it once was anymore either. lol Kurt, I think you helping him control his exit speed getting out of the truck is making a big difference, he isnt limping now from what I can see! It may have been that jarring landing he was doing that kept throwing him out of whack. Keep the shiny side up man!!
i would check out that repair job just in case someone missed tightening something. Not to put any mechanic down but that was a lot of work done just to be sure. Good to see you and opie back on the road, safe travels brother.

Electronic logs well paper logs were much better. Going over five miles per hour will start it. And at the end of fourteen hours That's it. Well with paper a few extra minutes at the end of the day no problem. Need to go to Wal mart with paper it's nothing with electronic log well it's a big mess to enter it as personal convince. Then explain all of that to a scale house worker? Paper was much better. Wild Turkeys I hardly see them anymore a few years back there were well over two hundred on my farm acreage but something happened to them?
Kurt I know you've already spent a buttload of money on that truck but you got to get rid of that Cobra radio and get your Striker 447 back look up Wolfman CB shop derail is the Sun and he's got a channel too they're in Carnesville Georgia and you can actually order online from him but you got to get rid of that old Mike and get a new coax because that is one talking radio horseshoe told me that because I want to raise from them I have a 9:55 at home for a base radio and I want to Striker 497 in my truck when you're ready check them out❤❤❤

I’ve been driving 47 years. I wouldn’t want to go back to paper. Still put 500 to 850 miles a day.
