Woodturning - A Tippling Stick

- This weeks project is a Tippling Stick, called that as you can carry a "Tipple" in it anywhere you go. The wood for the stick is Black Palmwood, I tend to use this or Ebony on most of the sticks I make. Metal is Pewter.
My website - mjturning.com
Very nice. Such fun to watch it all the way through. What a perfectly balanced tool, it makes you prone to stumble, but then it also helps keep you upright. Genius.
Thanks William 👍
beautiful idea mate..... really I want to be like you
Thank you 👍
I haven't seen a Tippling Stick since I was a kid! What an amazing job you've one on this one! Just looks like a very sleek cane... but it's got that secret in it too. Nice job, Matt! 💜
Thank you! Cheers!
Parabéns Matt um trabalho fantástico.
Oooo tornànin krallarida burada😁
👍👍
Looks so amazing! I love how you just add your own flare to everything! Keep it up man! 👍
Thanks Jake

Second, official stats just in
Beautiful design 👍
Bu isi amator olarak bana sevdirenlerden bir kral da sensin 👏
Thanks
I too had no idea, either (what it was) other than knowing what tippling is. Fascinating video! I love it! I want one!! :)
Thanks Nancy
Beautiful idea my friend
Thank you so much 😊

🤣 So it’s basically a walking stick with a hidden alcohol flask in it!!! Lol!!!
Last
Well first actually
Bloody Amazing work - when men carried walking sticks that were dual purpose - might need a bigger glass test tube for me LOL
Thanks, gonna need a bigger drill first :)
A beautiful mind creating beautiful art is something to behold. Thanks for making my day and kudos again from the Fiji islands.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Matt, really enjoy your videos. A question if I may, do you have a plan or video on your steady. Cheers from Australia
Thanks Jenny, no video or plan, but I will be making another next year, this was made for my last lathe and has been adapted to fit this one. The design could do with a little bit of improvement so I will post something next year.
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers man!
Keep up the cool builds!
Thanks! Will do!
Matt! I have no idea what a Tippling Stick is supposed to be. I am stumped 🤯 I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!!
When you have the chance please enlighten me 🌺💋🍁😉🙂
It’s a stick with a hidden place for vodka 🤩
A tipple is an alcoholic drink. In Britain you might be asked What's your tipple? when a host is offering drinks. Which drink would you like?
Thanks Audrey, what Janet said 👆
This project looks so high end. Your skills are really on another level my friend
Thanks
I have a beautiful tippling stick the glass tube is about 27 inches. This one looks better than mine, pure wooden handle one. Perfectly done and fantastic to see your work & skill
that's a beautiful piece of work, thanks for sharing... cheers
Thanks
EXCELLENT ! There's perfection! Do you have more VIALS so that you can insert your preference of the day, that sounds cool in My head anyway! I would make one if, I had the tools and skills !
That one was a perfect example of "Handmade by Matt Jordan". That had to take awhile I'll Bet! So Awesome! Cheers Matt! 🍻😀
Thanks Al 👍👍
This is a beautiful stick but with my luck I'd have to explain to a police officer, while sitting on a park bench, why I have a cane sticking out of my face?
"I'm nippling my tippling stick, pickling because I like the tickling, Officer."
If we put half the effort we put into getting drunk into solving problems, we'd already have colonies on Mars.
Pass the bottle, mate.
I love this! Makes me want to go places with! 🥃
Thanks Gina
I've never heard of a tippling stick before today. Sweet! It looks great also!
That’s a pantload of work just to hide booze…. Beautiful work albeit, but seriously just tuck the booze in a boot.
Clever idea with the solder, my luck would have been when cutting it off at the end i would have skidded up the shaft and made it look like teeth marks 🤭👍👍
Essential survival tool in this covid world! Great work Matt. :)
Now that's classy.
Thanks Gabriel
Wow very classy! What a beautiful piece of art
После этого не гоните на Россию за отравление Скрипалей! Вот она та самая трость с Новичком!💯
dude, had no idea what a tippling stick was... now i wanna make one but instead of booze it holds a lighter and a few joints hah
The whole time I’m thinking, now where is he going with this? Amazing!
Thanks Helen
Nice presentation
Thank you
En son tüp icindeki sıvı ne işe yarıyor
Just wanna say I love your stuff man
Thanks
Thats beautiful. How hot does the pewter need to be for its melting point?
Do wood workers wear masks while working?
Yes, depending on what I'm doing depends on the type of mask, minimum would be FFP2 though.
That is one classy piece right there, awesome dude.
Thanks
Absolutely stunning. Thank you EVERSOMUCH.
Glad you like it!
Your projects that mix wood working with metal working are my favorite. Throw in some molten metal and casting process and you have just created the full experience for a CRAFTSMAN. Beautiful job. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mike
First of all, I had to Google what A Tippling Stick was, but then watching you create it and seeing the finished product was amazing! Great Job! Not that I have a need for such a thing, but if I ever did, THAT would definitely be the one to have. HA! Take care.
Thanks Lynn
Saoulot, mais bon super magnifique la canne, bravo à toi .Ph 🤣🤣🤣🍷👍
Beautiful work of functional art. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bill
Superb work Matt. You brought so many different skills to a beautiful piece. I'm also very partial to a tipple.
Thanks Alan 👍
What if this stick use by front man in squid games
What was the skateboard wheels jig used for ?
Well, TIL whatever it was you made - it’s stunningly beautiful, but I’m still lost for what it’s for…..

I'm sorry. I was with you up to the point that you pulled out the engineering lathe; that's just showing off. Nice piece though. :-)
Thanks Glenn
Ah Penderyn Whisky Now that makes for a good walk! I live about half hours drive from the Distillery.
I was lucky enough to obtain some of the first around the 2004 mark, long since gone :)
You sir are a genius. Love your crazy attention to detail.
Thanks Anton
2:21 I realized this is not in USA:) 10:31 Then I realized it is for sure not USA:) Very classy!
Thanks Alex 🙂
BRILLIANT
Thanks Siam
Nice work on the palmwood, such a nasty wood to work, the result, however, is definitely worth the effort.
Thanks 👍
Lot of work for a small, hidden flask.
Want one for Christmas 🎄🍷🪵💡
This video got me thinking. Can you make a pool stick cue. I just got into pool and this sparked an interest!
I can and have, however there is a slightly different process with the settlement of the wood as its turned.
Очень да же☝️❕Удачи и творческих успехов 💪❕
👍👍
Yapay zeka cnc bu sanatı ortaya koyamaz. Harikasın 🙏
👍👍
Perfect. Apart from the last part. 😁
Beautiful work
Nice choice of Single Malt, could only be improved if it was the peated version :)
Thanks, not really a peaty man, much prefer the lighter, however the first bottle I bought myself some years ago was Lagavulin, so I dropped myself in it with that .

Thanks
Very awesome beautiful job. Do you sell them and if so how much
Thanks, not sure yet, probably around the £250 mark
Beautiful work as always.
Thanks Jason
some of the sounds reminds me of 2001 movie for some reason, nice one btw :)
Thanks
The metal turning (?) Sounded like something from a 1950's sci-fi movie 🤣.
Will we see more of that in future videos?
There's a bit of a whistle from the variable speed drive, so I've had to edit the sound the best I can.
Sorry and yes as and when need the metal lathe will feature
I would love the opportunity to purchase your work!
Thanks, link in description of anything for sale at the moment
A very nice work!!!
And now I know what a Tippling stick actually is. Quiet awesome work.
как всё сложно то, а))))))))))))
Always unique!

Hey Matt,
Great project, could use one of those with the weather we are having.
I see your based here in the UK and just wondered who you used to supply for Black Palmwood? - Always looking for good suppliers of different types of timber.
Cheers Fella

Always start with a design, otherwise you won’t stop turning, as seen. Good luck!
💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Will it go up on your website? Let me know so it doesn’t sell out n
Hi Don, it will go up, just not got round to it yet, thanks Matt
only 1 drink((((
Ahh....so that's what a Tippling stick is! Excellent work. I'm fond of Penderyn as well although the Scots seem to have a problem getting the concept of a Welsh Single Malt!!
Thanks, anything distilled outside of Scotland tends to get a raised eyebrow, some of the Japanese ones are pretty good too 👍
Alcogolic stick
Where do you get these huge spindle blanks?
Company called exotic hardwoods in the UK - exotichardwoodsukltd.com/
Never mind I just read the information.

Can you make a baseball bat with official measures?
