I think Campagnolo went through a bad patch in the late nineties and early 2000's. I have noticed on a number of the record components from this period that some of the aluminium seems to be rather soft, and some of the design of the components leads to metal fatigue. I am thinking especially of the Record brake calipers which seem to suffer from cracking of the nuts on the back of the calipers which are alloy and have grub screws drilled into them, which when they rust tend to expand and split the alloy nuts. The Record rear derailleur tends to crack across the top knuckle, possibly due to it being too thin and being over-tightened by users. Great camera work on the video though, very clear to follow.
I seem to remember that the first year that 9 speed Chorus came out, it had the same geometry as the 8 speed Chorus. The next year, they changed the geometry (cable pull rates) to be the same as 10 and 11 speed.
My Super Record has that same issue with the stopper part having sheared off. I will post my fix on utube....if I can fix it! ThisChorus is clean & lovely but still won't work, alas.
I have issues with the chain not being tensioned enough by this exact derailleur, would replacing the tensioning spring fix this? And do you think the RD-SR008 tensioning spring is compatible with this derailleur?
Are you sure the chain isn’t too long? Quick search reveals, that particular spring referenced, is suitable for 9s campy derailleurs, therefore we could presume yes it is.
@@atboy4342 Not sure if it is actually a problem with the chain. I rebuilt the entire derailleur and it seems to be working fine but the chain seems to be jumping over the sprockets under load. Gonna try fixing the cassette next. Thanks for the video, it was very useful in my project!

@@arsenypesterev8738 Sounds like something worn out, chainrings-cassette likely
