  • Hello everyone. I know this video is not of NYC because I was on vacation this week with family. In this video, I take you for a short walk through Tuskegee University which is a small town in Macon County, Alabama. Tuskegee is famous for several events in African-American culture including:
    - Being the birthplace of Rosa Parks and Booker T. Washington.
    - Home of the famous Tuskegee Airmen (Redtail's) and more.
Tuskegee University was pivotal in these events as it helped pave the way for so many who were looking to better themselves.
    I hope you enjoy!

My 2 cents is the Chapel. they have built a number of buildings since I was last a student in 1988, & even taking my kids to visit back in 2000. But being a clergy man, the house of worship is my favorite, as we used to sing in Tuskegee's beautiful choir.

Great and thank you for covering my alma mater, 4th gen grad. However, you might want to say that "according to....." and enter the ranking site you used, because we obviously don't agree that Xavier of all schools is a top 5 HBCU, lol. But more importantly, you named Dr. Washington as the founder, but he was not. It was Lewis Adams, and he was pivotal in conducting the candidate search for our beloved Dr. Washington. Please correct that info as it is rather important to credit Mr. Adams.

I myself may not attended the Campus though,
As I remembered clearly, back in 1987,
There was a Job Corps Center, just a path down from the Campus from "Rec Building"
there were 5 Buildings: Center control, And Four Dorms at those times.

If you like to study hard, be challenged, love prestige and live in a quiet rural setting, then you will love Tuskegee! With a car though, you can get away to Montgomery or Columbus if you just need to go clubbing or something.
