Thanks to Mimi's gentle biting and grappling, Kiki is learning how to use her teeth and claws safely. This can also count as training for her hunting skills. Very cute to see.

Those of us that have kitty cats and dogs know there are things that the parents teach the little ones. They're not adults. They aren't their children. She was bored to kitten tears and is really getting into this idea of have a little nosh, hit the road jack and get outside of the box and see what's out there in her expanding world. I think because Momma lost the other kittens, She can get Overprotective, as Kiki is starting to get more independent. TBH, sometimes She gets a bit rough with Kiki. There could be many things goin on there, confusion with losing Her other babies, Overprotection of Kiki's growing independence, and maybe even anger, from Her loss. I might be seeing too much into it, I don't know, but it makes sense.
@@viviennejordan215 I think mom is rough because Kiki needs a few lessons . If Kiki had a sibling they would play with her. She doesn't have any so mom has to teach her "life skills for cats". When kittens play together it gets rough at times. Mom may be trying to. Deveope her skills. Just a thought. I had 3 kittens I watched play and they learn their skill from each other. Kiki is by herself, but remember all kittens learn life skills from mom. Even how to use the litter box. Mom is the teacher. Just a few thoughts.

@@patreese4616 I agree here as well! I wanted to add, as kittens grow, things between mom and the babies change. In addition to teaching her How to be a Cat 101, it looks like Mimi was making sure she used the bathroom before she had her meal, (hence why mom cats lick the kittens around the butt area lol). But when the kittens get a little older, they want to play and be feisty. With all that unused energy (since Kiki is still recovering), mom's gotta lay down the law from time to time! I'm glad they were being monitored anyway, though, just in case!

If Kiki had sibling they would play the hunt, jump on and hold her down. She's mom. Lessons for the hunt. Just a thought.

I have seen similar behaviour from tigresses and lionesses with their cubs. If you read carefully I said: "not ONLY playing with his finger" if I dare to give my advice is because i have a lot of experience, I am part of an animal rescue team in my city and we work with Vets. In the first place the parents cats were too young to couple plus a diferent of races that is why the kittens died or were borne dead only Kiki lived but with a lot of problems, you only say : " oh how cute, oh they make my day, oh how lovely" only thinking of you and you, never stop thinking if it good for the animals or if it's good for the interst of the youtuber only!!!!!
Yikes! Mimi is being a bit to rough with her baby! She’s a very young mom, so please watch her roughhousing. I had a horrible experience with a cat of mine years ago where she ended up killing her babies. I DEFINITELY don’t see that here but I’m saying that little Kiki is not the healthiest and she IS an only kitten. PLEASE keep an eye on her and mama because Mimi IS a VERY young mama! Your doing a good job, you just may need to be more vigilant in watching how Mimi interacts with little Kiki.

Mother cats sometimes get annoyed with their kittens (because of all the attention), maybe that is happening here. Usually kittens can play with one another and mom can have a break, but of course Kiki is an only child.

Kiki needs to be put into her own space away from Mimi for a while and given her own food and shallow litter box so she weens off Mimi. Mimi may continue to become aggressive towards Kiki if she is not weaned soon. Kittens need to be transitioned onto kitten food at Kiki's age (usually earlier). Mimi needs to recuperate and put weight back on. The only way Mimi will be able to continue lactating is if she is pregnant again (upon viewing past videos this may be the case). Coco is not neutered and will act on instincts towards Mimi as early as 4 wks after she has given birth and he will also potentially mate with Kiki when she has reached sexual maturity even if Kiki is offspring. Furthermore, the material used for lining the Kitty box is dangerous for Kiki's little claws as they can be snagged and an injury could easily happen. These videos are extremely cute and entertaining however, I am concerned about the wellbeing of these animals and I hope that the owner can ensure their future health and safety.
