I’m new to the church and my priest lent me a book about the life of st. Innocent. I’ve only just begun but already I’m moved by his faith and bravery being the only one to volunteer to go to America because he it was God wanted of him. I have so much to learn. He is the first saint that I’ve studied. That’s how I found this and wow. Im so happy to be on this journey. Thank you 🙏

As I was listening to this, Satan attempted to attack me by saying “commit suicide to see if hell is real!” This restored the faith I had lost from the depression I experience, CHRIST IS RISEN❤☦️
@@richardkasper5822 That is not necessarily the case. God sometimes allows even great saints to retain certain flaws to keep them humble. Depression can be caused by many different things, and some suffer it their whole life. Whether it is a temporary or lifelong cross, as with any cross, it is meant to draw us closer to Christ with total dependence on Him.

Wow this is the extreme opposite of "On the Aquisition of the Holy Spirit by Fr Seraphim of Sardov ".... i guess the answer lies in finding the middle ground of each.
Odd question… Are there two narrators? It sounds like it alternates between a British speaker and an American speaker. Both voices are nice, but it is also kinda jarring tbh! Thanks for your work.
Living in perfect paradise, with a perfect happy life, in direct communion with God Himself, was not enough for Adam. He chose to sin against all that eternal perfection. What does that say about the nature of humans? It appears God created broken creatures who cannot possibly measure up to His expectations - even under the best possible life that God could offer. But God created a solution to our imperfection through Jesus Christ, in whom we can be transformed into a creation worthy of eternal life. I do not see the point of our existence if our very existence, in itself, is a failure. That is like producing a line of products that always fail inspection, and will all have to be completely changed into something else if they are to function as intended - or be thrown in the trash if they remain as they were made. I honestly do not understand the point of this fallen humanity. But I am a stupid creation and cannot know the things of God. It is likely that these very thoughts are being influenced by Satan, who God allows to use his supernatural, extremely powerful influence over us (see Adam) to prevent us from being fixed. Indeed, I do not get it.
I am not sure if we are able to “get it” but I have reached an age where I see how part of how we are made leads us into trouble- and perhaps that was what tripped up Adam and Eve. It seems to me that humans are extremely curious and awfully clever. We love discovering things and figuring them out - seeing what would happen if we did this or tried that…..which is how we discovered atomic energy but failed to take into account what the consequences of what a nuclear bomb would mean to our future. Or the industrial revolution- how trains and machines lead to cars and planes and space ships - and global warming….. Or the wonders of computers and the internet that now is destroying our children’s mental health and the fabric of our society…. Is it any wonder that Adam and Eve wondered what would happen if they ate that apple? So is that curiosity and clever problem solving ability a bug or a feature? They say that God - who is outside of time knew that the fall would happen when we were created and knew that Christ would need to come and save us. Perhaps the only way that this clever and curious part of us - that is one of the most wonderful-creative parts of being a human being - needed to be and perhaps could only be tempered by learning self denial. The most difficult part of being a Christian is exactly that. The reason people stop (or never start following God) is because of that. After a life time of trying and failing to live a Christian life it seems to me both the most difficult and most important skill we need to develop is exactly that - to deny what we think is the right course of action to follow Gods will and do what He wants us to do. The orthodox say that the spiritual growth we begin here in this life continues in the next - maybe it is this ability to deny ourselves that is the key to entering it. It sure seems to be what the Saints have mastered. I guess what I am trying to say is that perhaps we shouldn’t despair and feel like horrible failures- like babies that only learn to walk by falling down 100’s of times - if we can learn to trust that if we just keep getting up and trying again when we inevitably fall - we will gain the spiritual skill set we need to move into the next stage of human life with God - perhaps this is all part of the plan from the start.

Glory to Jesus.
Once you've fully accepted Jesus your depression will melt away very quickly. You'll lose your fear of death and the devil becomes just an annoyance.
