Personally, the popular people I follow that criticize Christianity also criticize Islam. I’ve also never met someone who gets onto others for criticizing Islam but will turn around and criticize Christianity. Personally, I would wager that the vast majority of people who criticize Christianity are also willing to criticize Islam. The main reason why Christianity gets the most flak is that in the west (where a lot of us in these circles are) Christianity is by far the most popular religion and there is a lot of history that involves Christian, not so much any other religion.

'tell it like it is' idk about that one, he's heavy leaning on the christianity victim complex in this video. atheists generally dislike all religions to a degree, just most of the atheists in the western world tend to be more exposed to christianity than other religions (go figure, historically christian countries have atheists exposed to christianity more causing more pushback against christianity) i very much doubt religious detractors in the middle east are that concerned with christianity.

I truly cannot understand how it flies over people’s heads. I don’t believe Christianity is real or true, but there are 210 million Christian’s in my country alone (63% of the country) that do. Regardless if the faith is real, these people believe it is and they influence politics and society with their religious beliefs. That’s what many people have an issue with. To not understand that is to be ignorant of what people actually believe.
I just don't know what's real and what's been fabricated by the manipulative "Christian" I knew for most of my life. Kudos to those within the religious spectrum that's actually in it to be loving and kind and not hate other people.
The truth is that God loved you so much that He wanted to give you eternal life and peace in your heart, so He incarnated into man to live the life of a mortal person and die, as each of us should. But he was resurrected, and now you too will be resurrected in a new immortal body. the question is, will you be at peace with him, and therefore in harmony with yourself, when you are resurrected?

As a non-christian, I can speak for most everyone regardless, that if anything, Satan, or Hel, or whoever your religion believes is the devil, really ain't the guy to bow to. (I'm part of the Asatru religion. [Norse religion])
Have you heard of Gnosticism? They believe that the serpent in the Bible is the good guy because they prioritize knowledge over all other virtues. They believe that anything that restricts freedom as there devil, which usually is just my God. I say this point out that every religion holds up one virtue as god and puts down one virtue as the devil. Just because a religion puts a virtue as the devil, doesn't mean its right, as they are not all the same devil. That is why the gods fight in most pantheons, because only one virtue can be the greatest. Christianity says God is agape love (unconditional self sacrifice) and the devil is pride. I think this is correct philosophically and that is one of the many reasons I am a Christian. Sorry my knowledge of your religion comes from a Marvel movie, and I am sure that is not even close to the real thing. What virtue would you say Odin personifies? And well we are at it, what does Hel personify?
@@viperstriker4728 Lol, it's okay. I was raised Asatruar, but the marvel movies are what most people seem to know of. Honestly, it's hard to put a virtue on our Gods because we are taught that they too make mistakes and that they represent multiple things. Odin would generically represent war and death, but as for virtues he represents wisdom and fairness, for the most part. (However, the actual God of fairness is Forseti, not Odin.) Hel is thrice as hard to personify because we are taught that she is neither good or bad. Neither munificent nor hateful. She just is, for she lacks pity and empathy towards mortals, and she is shown to be harsh towards matters of the living and dead. She does not involve herself emotionally or ethically in mortal concerns, which is why I can't pin a virtue on her.
@@SpookyPharaoh13-gx1un Hel sounds like apathy, which is often said to be the opposite of love. I find it weird that would not be considered bad coming from a Christian worldview. I can see why Odin would be hard to describe, wisdom is such and abstract thing. Hard to define but you know it when you see it. If Hel is not defined as bad, is their any in the pantheon that are equivalent to a devil?
@@viperstriker4728 There's not really a devil equivalent. Hel controls our version of Hell, if you mean an entity that watches over Hell, but if you mean a bad entity, Loki is considered an evil god and he has an army of Draugr, which are demon-like beings, so I suppose he would be the closest to your devil. (Fun Fact: Hel is actually one of Loki's children.)

Another example of this is when a character of a movie or TV show mocks Christianity or believing in God out of spite or some kind of sick humour. I don't care how good that character is or if they're the main protagonist or not, after they mock Jesus and God then I wish for everything they do to fail. I'm sure it's not sin to hate a fictional character in this context 😏
@@meteo28 Vikings, specifically when they were becoming Christians. It follows the life of a boy that grows up on the battlefield and the massive changes in him through his life. It's mostly fictional, but inspired by the life of Canute. I don't want to spoil anything from it. So all I will say is if you watch it you have to watch the second season. Season one says some weird stuff, but it's all setup for ideas in season two. The idea of "this is what happens when you reject God" is one of the core themes of the show.
I have the opposite problem. As an anti-theist who has had bad experiences with people who practice religions, when I see an actor or artist I respected suddenly go extremely religious, I get super disappointed because it usually seems like they do it as a crutch because something bad happened to them. Instead of dealing with it head on, they avoid it with religion.
Or maybe God was the answer to their problems. Maybe He brought them hope and healing and changed their lives for the better, and because of Him they were able to overcome the trials in their lives. Maybe people turn to faith not because they're pretending it's helping them, but because it actually is.
then you should like most artists, because most artists hate God. There are very few celebrities and just rich people who love Jesus; mostly poor and ordinary people follow him
So you're judging them based on what you think they're doing. These people you've never met. You just decided that you know they aren't dealing with their problems, because they chose a path you don't like. Not only that but you are judging them based on the actions of other people who have nothing to do with them.
Why? Trauma. I'm not Christian, but I'm in full agreement that Christianity as Jesus intended is a great thing. However, like most things left in human hands...it is definitely not universally opperating on the same rules and regulations it began with. Across the world, there are many different takes these days--usually in minor ways that, conversely, leave large impressions. Pretty much anytime populations have suffered turmoil from the hands of people using their religious beliefs to justify their actions...a lot of the time those aforementioned religions end up on other people's shit list by no fault of the religion's original intentions, but by the religion's supposed followers. Christianity isn't the only religion that deals with this; it just depends on what part of the world you dwell in and what religions are/were present there.
but Christianity was not left in human hands alone. the holy spirit descended to earth. many times more good deeds were done in the name of Christ than bad ones, and all this is the merit of the Holy Spirit. he can change anyone, but he acts strictly voluntarily, so if there are bad Christians, it is only because they have not fully submitted to Lord.
@user-yi9uh2qi3d It is certainly not a matter of if. Every faith, religion, or even spiritual belief has people who do not hold to the tenets that they supposedly follow. This is also not a matter of how many bad deeds versus good deeds have been committed. It wouldn't matter if it was just one bad deed in the face of 99% good deeds. A single moment can inflict enough damage to cause trauma. And it certainly was more than once. I need you to understand that what I am speaking of is not a criticism of Christianity or any faith for that matter, but rather I am asking for people to acknowledge the wolves in sheep's clothing, if you will. Be it that they haven't "fully submitted" as you say or if they simply do not "practice what they preach"...humans have the free will to inflict harm on other humans and they've been doing it for quite some time. It's everything from wars being started in the supposed name of a faith, but really being initiated over greed, to parents and communities mistreating children because they don't fit into their understanding of their beliefs. These things cause trauma, individual and generational. And again, I state that this is not only a Christianity issue. Throughout history, other beliefs have had supposed followers do the same. There are people who hide behind religions and use them as excuses for their bad behavior and as such for the victims of those people, Christianity evokes negative reactions. The same way an abused child might flimch when someone is suddenly loud or moves their hands too quickly too close to them.
@@BlackFirelight Then what do celebrities shitting on Christianity have to do with this? Why don't celebrities from other religious backgrounds shit on the religions they were raised in?
@user-yi9uh2qi3d Probably because they weren't traumatized??? And then, on the flip side, it's all a popularity contest when it comes to celebrities. While some may hold genuine feelings about a religion, others will just do what they think their fans want from them. And that's anything from speaking ill about a religion to condemning or supporting a cause. On top of that, you have to consider their background. Are they born and breed American, where we have freedom of speech? Canada or European countries where they have similar laws? Or are they from countries where religion and government are tied closely together? Depending on where they come from and/or live, they may be more or less comfortable with speaking about these kinds of things. So, yea, some celebrities may speak negatively as a result of their own trauma....and others are just chasing clout by trying to piggyback off of other people's trauma. Celebrities do this kind of thing with religions and social political topics all the time. While a few celebrities are able to maintain their own independence, most of them are treated like products to be marketed. They are expected to cater to their target audience. It's business in a capitalism based society. Is it screwed up and cruel for many people? Absolutely, but that has always been the nature of this particular game. Screw over many so that a few can benefit. Religion is just the current "flavor of the month," so to say. Everyone has issues with something, and it is basically the job of many industries to capitalize off other people's problems. If someone out there doesn't like something, then somewhere somebody is going to try and market something to that person based on that dislike.
@@BlackFirelight the point is that every religion has many former followers traumatized by it, but only former Christiаns are brave enough to shit on Jesus. it is considered socially acceptable. they are not afraid of a possible blow. Moreover, among ordinary people there is as much evidence of trauma received from other rеligions as from Christiаnity, and people sharing their experiences with other religions have to cover their faces and hide their identity in fear. the fact that you can so freely shit on Christiаnity and get nothing speaks of Christiаnity as a unique religion. this suggests that most Christiаns follow Jesus' command to forgive their enemies and not take revenge
To play devil's advocate (the irony is not missed here), one of the reasons I see christianity get so much hate was how many horrible and inhuman things were done "in the name of the lord" to justify seizing control of other people's lives. The indigenous genocide in Brazil in the 1500s, the witch hunts of the dark ages... Ask any LGBTQ+ person who grew up in a conservative, close minded family how it was being raised and they will cite the disrespect and abuse as key parts of their experience. Personally, I don't have a religion, but Jesus is my homie. Dude was preaching about love and enlughtment for the longest time. I just wish as many people followed his messages of love as many people CLAIM they do. A bit of "Good source material, bad fandom" case, if you ask me.
Jihadist have done atrocious things "in the name of Allah". Islam TOO forbids homosexuality. Many eastern cultures and families are disgusted by it. Why are they not mocked? To compare the mass beheadings and terrorist attacks committed by some Muslims to the woes of an LGBTQ person who grew up in a conservative family in the WEST is honestly such a joke. It might sound harsh but it's the truth. People who mock Christianity because of the reasons you mentioned would have more reasons to mock Islam but they don't. Make it make sense? (I'm not attacking you personality btw, I'm just asking for a better explanation)
but there are much more good deeds done in the name of Christ. Christianity changed the world for the better. Jesus did not allow people to be converted by force, but taught to allow people to do what they want and pray for them. Evil people who identify themselves as Christians and impose their will on others even with good intentions will not inherit the kingdom of God. As a Christian, I have nothing against LGBT people and don't think they should hide from society. Although according to the Bible it is a sin, I would not want unbelieving people to be subject to the law of God, because that would mean that they would live a miserable life pretending to be Christians and still not achieve peace with God. let people have the legal right to commit sin (as long as it is not violence). Jesus said that he came to the sick, not the healthy. To recognize yourself as a sinner, most people need to let sin torment them. just remember that God loves you more than any person does. Don’t believe that he hates you, no matter how much the surrounding reality tells you about it.
anyway, if some celebrity hates forced conversions, they should hate all religions (because it happens everywhere and some religions directly order forced conversions and kill the apostates), but instead they hate Jesus. it is obvious that it is not the history of the church that worries them, but the very fact of the existence of God and the fact that he wants something from them. they hate the teaching of Jesus, and not other teachers, because his teaching is absolutely unique: forgive your enemies, do not take revenge, let people hurt you and think about the future life, not about the earthly one
Brazilian (maybe fellow?) here... who do you exactly refer as people doing genocide in Brazil? Because yes, the genocide happened, but in that time you had actually a lot of Priests and Jesuits "defending" indigenous people. After a huge conversion of natives took place in 1500s, part of the priests in Brazil - the ones that would work to learn local language, teach about Jesus - thought it was wrong to enslave fellow Christians he way the Portuguese did. Not all priests, but some. Those are things you learn at school here, man. And yes, people use the name of the Lord to do things the Lord would not approve, that is documented since the time Hebrews were on the desert. But don't other religions do the same? Damn, look what Hamas did and what their mission is, they even use Quran verses to prove their point!(not saying that Islam is bad, but saying that they use religion to do bad stuff) But people outright defend them! And when I say Hamas, I say Hamas, not Palestine - there's people out there defending specifically them. So, to help with your play... Why only Christianity get that much of a hate from the same people that respect everything else? Anyways, nice points. Just wanted to share my point of view as Brazilian and ask... are you Brazilian, too? It's just weird seeing someone bringing something as specific as indigenous genocide in Brazil when you have lots of examples to give
lots of children mock their parents its part of growing up most parents forgive that behavior you spit in their face insult them lie about them then you get a paddling something for people who love to mock but hate to think.
Thanks so much for actually talking about this though. The amount of seething hate for Christianity and God on the internet blew me away, and kind of bamboozled me a little bit. I hope we can all stay true no matter what is said about us.
Its just a sign of revelation. Deep breaths. Its almost over. And even if they throw pogroms at us, blaming us for the famine, and war, and pestilence they caused, we still win. We get to miss out on the tribulation while they suffer all of it. So, let them mock.
Lord Jesus, I pray for every celebrity or individual with this evil mindset that they receive deliverance and experience Your divine touch before it is too late.
We're to be the instruments of that judgment. So the wicked might cower. But then you have those who want to enjoy almost all the forbidden things, while playing church. Then, when this demonic nonsense pops up, instead of dealing with it, and discarding their own wayward indulgences, they pray that God will fairy wand the problem away! Proverbs 28;9 has something to say about that.
Interesting point. But the big reason I don't believe in God is not because God tolerates being mocked. I'd think the creator of the universe would have the thickest skin imaginable, but because He doesn't settle these debates by just shouting down from the heavens. I'm convinced that if God exists, He doesn't want everyone to believe.
Yeah, the RUclipsr just seems delusional. And I don’t mean that to mock him, I genuinely believed his perception of people who criticize Christianity is blatantly false (Aka, delusional). You alone prove that his perception of nonbelievers is false. Also you’d be right, if there was a god he does not want nor care if everyone believes in his existence or not.
@@_Sloppyham and @Dennis there's an old story, I can't recall who came up with it (I want to say Norman Mailer, but it could have been someone else) about how this whole earth thing is a massive bet between God and the Devil. It goes something along the lines of the Devil looking around Heaven and pointing out that of course everyone praises God. What choice do they have? But if God were to create a being that had free will...the Devil is certain he can convince people to turn away from their creator. God says "you're on" and man is created. Free will requires non-interference, and the terms of the bet would preclude God just announcing his existence to the world. It's an interesting take.

Good point. I’m always like “nah they’re not actually being effected by demons they’re just being idiots or making an artistic point” but yeah- wouldn’t we expect demons to be at work in the world? Of course they’ll use the rich and famous as mouth pieces, that’s the logical thing to do. I’m not suggesting they’re possessed but the devil is using them for sure
of course! Everyone that disagrees with you MUST be controlled by a demon! No other explanation, because anyone that doesn’t conform to your opinions must be the devil and has no autonomy. Obviously

'tell it like it is' idk about that one, he's heavy leaning on the christianity victim complex in this video. atheists generally dislike all religions to a degree, just most of the atheists in the western world tend to be more exposed to christianity than other religions (go figure, historically christian countries have atheists exposed to christianity more causing more pushback against christianity)

(However, the actual God of fairness is Forseti, not Odin.)
Hel is thrice as hard to personify because we are taught that she is neither good or bad.

@@viperstriker4728 I see. Sounds like a great show I’ll check it out 🙂
I have the opposite problem.
“It’s gonna be biblical” is such a great quote 😂
Why?
I'm sorry about the comment I made earlier, it was super not cool and uncalled for. Anyway, hope you have a nice day! 👍

Read or audiobook C. S. Lewis - “The Screwtape Letters” I promise once you’re done you will be sooooo much wiser❤
Mockers gonna mock. 😂
