I have PTSD (after witnessing my late husband’s accident at our home) so my memory has been quite affected and this will (I hope) change my life even more than Siri already has! I’d forget everything without her and I’m not exaggerating.

Guess my question is has Apple or Will Apple gates better accessibilities for those who are blind so when series responds, it reads it to you because currently only certain things read back to you and using the existing accessibility options like voiceover does not automatically read the text that jumps up from Siri

Unfortunately that cleanness comes at the cost of functionality. The keyboard, probably the most used feature, still lacks a numbers row n symbols. Not even the option to have it. Too clean for my taste.

My biggest peeve. When I ask something like what’s the population of Taipei. Then I tell my husband it’s x many people from 2016 Siri keeps listening and doesn’t let me read the rest. Instead it searches for what I just told my husband and removes the answer from the screen. Soooo annoying.

Before on iOS 16, when you were on Apple Maps you could ask Siri how far to the destination. Now, since then, instead of telling you how far, Siri now brings up a web search on how far to your destination. What’s going on?
Well if it could answer any question you had, while you’re using it. Like sending a text, double tap, ask if you’re free in two weeks, get an answer, go back to your convo. Or look up what an actor was in. Or so much more

Correct me if im wrong, but while texting our friend we double tap which would bring about the siri keyboard and then we continue type out or question to siri? Will this get rid of forcing me to use Siri suggestions? That’s the worst thing Apple has ever created. On iOS 16, I was able to just completely disable it and be fine. On iOS 17, I disable it and it still shows up. Makes everything messy while showing me irrelevant stuff for no reason. I really hope in iOS 18, I can just turn this crap off.
18.1 and macOS 15.1 etc betas are just not it. Im staying away from apple intelligence until it comes out in October purely for battery drain purposes caused by other things in .1 betas.
Only Apple makes consumers buy their last device to get a working speech assistant. Siri should have been improved for all iphones compatible with ios 18. Other AI features could have been available only from Iphone 16 but Siri... come one Apple.

I preferred the orb because the new way is not something I can see if I am a little distance from my device. Often when I am using Siri, it is in one place and I am doing something else and would prefer to be able to glance over and see the orb. Unfortunately we’re not given a choice
I prefer Siri as she is right now. With the update .. she does look and feel way better. But all those upcoming functions will make her heavy, clunky and invasive... And that's something competing phone assistants *don't* do
The apple marketing machine. Don’t believe the hype. Apple is simply very late to the game, again. These features n more have existed for awhile. The difference is, the other co’s don’t make u buy an updated device from a one year old phone, to use these features. It was apple’s decision to cheap out on the iPhone 15 chip, as well as insufficient ram.
I think their justification for requiring a new iPhone was that they wanted to handle as many of the AI functions on device rather than being dependent on a server which is demanding on the processor.
The chip has ample ability, it wasn't that long ago the 14Pro chip was techtuber benchmark bragger. It's largely a cash grab manipulating loyal users into a new device. There are claims that 6GB of ram is the limiting factor, again a cop out when many completing brands had 12GB in yhe the same era. In any case this would only be a limiting action for some functionality, so many features touted as AI for the rest of (correction the few of us) are exist already and run locally on many devices even iPhones if you install the apps.

I had been using the type to Siri for quite a while but the problem with how they did it before is there was no way to choose voice or text.
I would add some music at a low volume in the background. It would add to the video to make it a little less empty.
