I love how totally underwhelming the bed is compared to everything else even though it’s such a large piece of furniture. Like you think they would have had a blanket pattern on there... maybe with a white rectangle representing a pillow or something? You know? Just seemed unexpectedly blank compared to everything else. I mean the vanity chair has a cushion! There’s cushions to place on the couch and magazines and things... but a totally blank bed except for a TINY bit of “wood trim” ? 😅

As a child of the 60s, no child EVER put this together themselves. This was a gift like many others that the parents had to assemble on Christmas Day, with much cursing involved.

I just had the most intense flashbacks to my early '80s childhood, assembling the Barbie Dream Cottage, Camper, Above-ground Pool, McDonald's, and purple Corvette (looked uhmazing with those Donny & Marie dolls Trixie has, which I also had, who wore purple and pink satin). I think it's why I'm still unafraid to assemble literally any toy or piece of flatpack furniture that comes my way.
I built a rabbit hutch from scratch after my ex boyfriend stood there the whole time going ‘you can’t just measure and cut’. Spoiler alert making furniture is a lot easier than it looks 😂 the hutch was so sturdy we had to chop it up to remove it from our rental
