    I don't get thrilled when it comes to spirituality and such, but i do wonder if these trees, somehow "know" something that we don't.

    Cool how it looks like 20 pine needles growing but they spread about 5 times each making 100. And they arrange out oddly even, like bristles.

  • @onelowerlight

    Great video, except the last part about climate change threatened the bristlecone pines. The climate has changed dramatically within the lifetime of many of these trees, such as the warm period during the Roman era and the little ice age during the Medieval era. The climate is always changing, and if these hardy plants survived all of that, they're not going to be killed off anytime soon.

    • @hin930
      @hin930 8 лет назад +3

      It was not just the range of the change but the speed of the change will kill it off.
      The Roman Warm Period you mention last about 650 years and the temperatures range were within a degree of modern temperatures. The Little Ice Age (Wasn't really an Ice Age) last about 200 years and the change were still less profound than the temperature increased in the last 100 years.
      Human have greatly change our climate in less than 150 years since the industrial revolution. We literately doing EVERYTHING we can to cause the climate change. Deforestation and releasing green house gas are just some of the things we did to cause the warming. The sixteen hottest years since 1880 are ALL between 1998-2015. We are almost 2 degree warmer and most of it are caused by human activities.

    • @onelowerlight
      @onelowerlight 8 лет назад +1

      The climate is certainly changing (as it has always changed), but I'm not convinced it's man-made. I don't have an agenda so I'm not going to push one way or the other, but there's a real bias against healthy skepticism among pro-climate change activists, and some of the "facts" they cite are of questionable scientific value.

    End of the video was dumb.. trying to claim that climate change is going to kill trees that have been around a lot longer than we have.. I mean, sir, may be a lot of them will die off, but he makes it sound like they’re going to go extinct.. please..

    • @danielhudon9456
      @danielhudon9456 3 месяца назад

      Like he said, they will try to go higher with the warming climate, until they can’t go any higher.
