If seen worse then that. It's held up really well. No damage to the Oregon studs. That plastic "flashing" I've seen used at the base of timber windows in the hope that any water that gets there doesn't rot the stud frames. Without seeing exactly where it was during the demo, my guess is it was used in a similar manner to prevent stud rot at the height of the bath frame.
