A lot of university's give virtual open days. They aren't as good as the real ones to be honest because you don't get a sense of direction

I got no clue whatsoever of what should I choose. Should I choose engineering or physics with computer or chemistry or stats (maths courses)??? Or something I want but is completely different from the subjects I did?? At this point it is better I don't go. But then again 😑😑😑

CONSIDER SCOTTISH UNIS! The four year course is honestly amazing, so much less pressure in the first year and the breathing space of second year. Only the 3rd/4th year course count to final degree in most cases
ohhhhhh that sounds incredible!
YES! I'm going into my third year at Edinburgh and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Also Scottish unis give you the flexibility within your course to DO A MODULE WHICH IS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR DEGREE due to the credit rating system of courses! Plus if you - like me - have a meltdown in the first week of first year and realise that you no longer want to study the degree you applied for, as long as you have the required grades you can change courses to wherever there's spaces! I switched from Chemistry to Law in my first week of first year and it was the best decision I've ever made.
Please don’t 😭😭😭 I’ve been rejected by both Scottish unis and I was so devastated 😢 unfortunately, especially for EU, Scottish unis are so damn competitive... Still don’t know why I was rejected by one of them cause my grades exceeded their typical offer requirement, I had experience in the field etc. So yeah, one month passed and I’m still heartbroken 💔
callmerka could you please tell me which Scottish unis you applied to and what subjects? I'm a not-UK person considering studying there so I'm very curious!
kittycatalysis and how are the accents? English isn't my first language and I'm scared I won't understand all the accents (teachers, other students, even doctors or shop assistants)

i would also recommend considering universities abroad! many courses are taught in English, and they could be perfect for you (it also helps if you like language learning, but don't want to study it at uni)

Deciding on a uni in the UK seems so stressful! In Australia, the open days aren’t amazing and it’s literally not a big deal, you kinda easily decide which uni you want, as there’s not too much choice here ahah! Also you two seem like you’ve been friends for ages, even tho you just met in person! Would love more videos of you together in the future❣️

Jack Edwards Jack Edwards Pretty much!! Unless you’re from the Northern Territory, where there’s nothing good, people move haha but generally most people stay at home! There are some, of course, that move to Sydney or Melbourne, depending on their preferred course and atar, but it’s not a big deal thinking about accomodation and things like that! (Atar is like our A level results)😊

Tasia Sparks i’m currently at Exeter; my best friend studies Psychology and she loves it! The university campus and the city itself is beautiful, and from what my friend has told me modules choices are really broad, especially into year 2&3!

Ahh thank you Isabelle, that’s really reassuring to hear. I went to the open days and loved the city. Its definitely somewhere I can see myself living. The people were lovely as well. I’m just putting off making the commitment.

This came at the right time, I'm pushing towards the end of year 12 and the teachers are breathing down my neck about mentally picking a top 5 and going to visit them. I was so hesitant about going to Durham because of the reputation it has as the home for Oxbridge rejects but speaking to a girl who came to represent Durham at my career fair really opened up my mind to the idea of going there.
Kaliyah Bower I felt the same way about Durham but I stayed at one of the colleges over the Easter holidays and it’s amazing! The lecturers are so passionate about what they teach
Honestly Durham is SUCH a nice place and everyone here is lovely!
I'm so glad I'm only about two hours from home because I was so homesick in my first term, my parents or grandparents were always visiting. I don't need as many visits now but I wouldn't have made it through first term if I'd been too far way to be visited.

Watching this after seeing the video on UnJaded Jade! I'm in year 11 but i looked round a couple of different Universities last year as the course I want to do (music computing) is not done in many places (there's like 2 or 3 places that do it i think!) I think looking round really helped me prove to myself that that is something I love because GCSE computing at my school has been tough with problems with teaching etc. but whilst most of my class have given up i'm still putting in the work to make sure I can get on to the a level course. I would definitely recommend to anyone to look round early because it may help with a level options etc as well and it's just nice to see where your current exams etc. could lead you to!
This is SUCH amazing advice - good on you for pursuing your passion no matter what! Wishing you aaaaall the luck in the world (although it doesn't sound like you need it) - I guarantee you'll smash it!

I think its really great advice to go to open days before you pick your A level choices! something people forget although some courses are flexible in what A levels you've taken others aren't and that can be really disheartening if you find out too late. I've been to university for one degree and am returning to another university to study another degree in september and Its so interesting the difference in the choices and reasoning that I made the first time around in comparision to now, Great video!

I'd say definitely pick one now if you're not sure because you can always defer further down the line (especially once you already have the qualifications!)

I take Bio,Chem and Psychology at alevel do u think its bad to not have maths or have one non facilitating subject? Whenever i tell anybody i take psychology i get looks lol not sure if i made the right choice what do i do 😑! What courses can i apply to with my subjects ? And what to do if u change ur career choices by yr 13? I am currently in AS but when i started my research i came across vids and info about computer science, tech and IT related courses and apparently jobs in IT pay really well too but they require maths and i clearly didnt take it . Also everyone makes it sound like psychology is a mickey mouse or too easy to take for alevels and kinda demotivated me , they make it sound like its not worth taking for some reason ,thoughts on how to deal with that kinda stuff , it seems like everybody wants to be an engineer or doctor atleast in my school its kinda annoyig btw do u know the entry requirements for universities in germany? Apparently they want maths and a language and i am kinda stuck now 😣😣😣😣 do u think marine biology is better or neuroscience or psychology or law or computer science graphic design As a career?-

I'm in my first year of university and these tips would have really helped me a year ago! I'm a linguistics student and i feel like our field is often neglected when people are considering applying to university. There is little information about linguistic courses, and there are no study channels either. Kinda makes me want to start a studying channel on what it's like to study linguistics at university...
