Great idea. I wish drums and cores were still that cheap. Crazy money over here and that's if you can get them. I have done the bearing also a couple times to fix up ones that someone has been in before and have mismatched and mixed the early/late drum /Hub components
Jay, I am in process of building a C6 and have acquired a 3 clutch converted to 5 clutch direct drum and an original early 5 clutch forward drum. I am planning to get your Wide Ratio Kit and assume this washer comes with the early style kit, as it is slightly more expensive to cover the cost on the plastic washer. Also, the forward drum will be the only part from the older 66-72 transmission. As long as I have the proper clearances on each individual drums clutch packs, and proper endplay, I should be good, right? Anything else I should be aware of mixing the drums from different years?
Yes just get the kit based on the year of the forward drum. The rest of the trans really doesnt matter as to what year everything is. The forward drum is the only difference. The early kit will have the extra spacer added.
I built a c6 with your rollerized wide ratio kit about 18 years ago and it is still doing great.
Thank you we appreciate the business and the comments.
you should cut ,180" off the face of the sun gear shell for the use of a 2 1/2" red alto wide band ! Frank

I guess the days of good deals has ended.
