Around 15 years ago I ran a setup with 2 Norman front runners in front of a big spook. I was on schooling fish and caught multiple doubles and triples that day... great sneaky way to catch more but an old bait turned new! I think my coangler for the day thought I was crazy when I told him if I get 2 or 3 fish on at the same time net the biggest! 😂👍🔥
Same concept as the teaser fly which has been used since the dawn of time haha.
Might be a “new” bait but the front runner was out years ago.. there was a reason it went away…

If you aren’t throwing a big spook type bait it just gets tangled on the cast and the retrieve. Also it’s impossible to stall walk a topwater. Just lots of issues that happen enough that it’s more of a hinderance than a help.

I'd take off the hook from the Zig-Zag... it's one less worry about snagging anything in its path, especially myself.

That’s a front runner came out 20 years ago worked ok
Two things. As mentioned, that is a copy of the Front Runner which I have half a dozen of. Secondly, one must be careful not to violate the 3 hook rule some circuits like the BFLs have. I have used my Front Runner with a jerkbait but had to remove either the middle jerkbait hook or the Front Runner hook to stay legal (see BFL rule on A-rigs)
So every lure ever is a copy of lures that were made as a copy of existing lure?

I agree with earlier comment, it’s not new. I don’t have a problem reintroducing it but be honest about it.

Front runner lol people who catch little fish it's great, but if you tournament fish for big ones you'll find out why it sucks. If you think you can catch two four pounders on at the same time without losing one you're in lala land.
