    I spent a year and a half on the road too I agree with what you say about knowing that you're going to be fine. I learned a lot about wild edible plants and I know how to get by selling hand made goods, dumpster diving, what ever. I actually lost every single thing I had at one point, even my shoes, and I found that I could still survive. It helped me learn to trust the universe and to get rid of attachments to material things. We can't take any of that with us when we leave this place.

    I spent a lot of time traveling... most of my life. So I know what these kids are going through. It can be tough but you experience more in one week than most average Joe six packs do in one year. So I have a great respect for what these people go through, I miss the road..

    You don't have to help me out if you don't want to. Also the way I see it is, most are traveling artists, and if you like what they do then pay them for entertaining you.

  • @HoboTango

    It does take effort though, If you think people are lazy because they travel all the time, then your naive. Most of us will squeegee for our money, and that means risking getting hit by cars, going to jail ( for washing windows ) and having to steal your equipement because the cops always confiscate them. Even if you buy it at a store. transporting your house on your back every day is also really difficult. There is nothing lazy about being a vagabond.

    The vast majority spend the money they can spange, drinking, smoking cheap weed, and/or smoking meth. They work really hard at avoiding being productive citizens and earning their own keep. And who can blame them, if they can get you to pay their way?

    I miss the rails and roads so much. Housed up cause I had to get some things straight, get sober and get my mind right. Ended up picking up a bunch of responsibilities and I'm currently stuck. But every day that I'm stuck working a job I hate in a house that'll never feel like a home the more I wonder how long before this starts to be a problem for my mental wellbeing too. This isn't living so much as waiting around to die. If ya do it right you absolutely can travel indefinitely. There's just a lotta potholes ya can fall into that make it tough. Itchy feet don't even begin describe me right now lol Can't wait to get back out there. There is nothing like playing music for strangers ya made up around a fire with people ya just met, waking up in a boxcar or grainer as the sun comes up over a part of the country that most people don't even know exists and can't imagine the untouched beauty of, meeting people that care about you even though ya just met, sleeping on a punk house floor feeling more at home than anywhere you've ever been, going to sleep looking up at the stars, catchin a fine kickdown that takes some stress outta the day, just everything about it, even the bad, has some good tucked in somewhere even if it's just what ya learn along the way. Just gotta be careful and stay tf away from the bottle and the needle and make sure ya can defend yourself. I live close to a siding and CSX crew change and take short trips from time to time but I always gotta come back. Every time I hear that whistle I wanna run to the train and never come back! Bella Ciao! A///E

    It is so irritating hearing how much they hate society, and how our country works..but yet they rely completely on people who are active particapants in saod society. They just don't get it..that if everyone gave up and did what they did..no one would survive

    You mention,God...Jesus was a homeless person for the full 3 years of His ministry--just read your Bible to see for yourself...Jesus and His disciples were spending the night in a public park(the Garden of Gethsemane)the night that He was arrested, when they to Him to put Him to the cross and crucify Him,because He didn't have a place of His own to stay...

    I'm really trying not to laugh at this and feel compassion instead. Really, some make it hard though. "NO! i'm NOT naive!" ... sound a bit like a child saying "NO! i'm NOT a child!" I say, give it a shot brother or sister. Try it for yourself and then make your decisions. Until then, you are by definition naive and unaware about this subject.

      +blastinator1 Workaholics, take a day off and stop hating everything. For every fuck wit that can't see beyond corporate "reality" is a kind hearted person who wants to provide for the dreams of the unshackled. We live on willing compassion which keeps us from hating everyone, but the hate is unavoidable in the 9-5 grind.

    • @blastinator1
      @blastinator1 9 лет назад

      +Feather E. Wait a second: who said anything about hate? Don't put words into my mouth - I said nothing about hating these folks, I only spoke what I think is the truth, that everybody has a responsibility to work at something and provide for themselves and others. I and millions of other people do. "Kind hearted people providing for the dreams of the unshackled"?! You've got to be kidding. What that really means is "hard working people who pay taxes supporting lazy, selfish, slothful people who really don't want to work and rely on responsible working people to feed and clothe them".. These people are just selfish and lazy and need to GROW UP, that's all. I certainly do NOT hate them. As a matter of fact, I'm supposed to love them. And keep your gutter-mouth to yourself please.

    • @feathere.9177
      @feathere.9177 9 лет назад +3

      Only people who want to help travelers fund them. If you think they're lazy, you don't put a buck in the guitar case. Would it be okay with people if they played their music in bars and other venues, it just doesn't count to play music on the street? Not all travelers do nothing. And most of them have been/will be tax payers also.

    • @GrottoGroveGroves
      @GrottoGroveGroves 8 лет назад +2

      +Feather E. funny thing the american tax payer. the revolution patriots, fought a war over taxes. then when the hillbillys who won the war for em. and already had a constitution and country. where the first ones the tide water fucks taxed first ? should have just let the britts kick they ass. in these hills we'd been better off.

      +Feather E. The only person in this video who seemed to be playing music was the blonde guy. He worked for his money. The rest of them said flat out that they beg for money even though they are educated, healthy young adults who could contribute to society..... just choose to suck it dry instead.
