Nice little doc man, good pacing and brilliant camerawork. Great editing too, it can be hard to keep a doc short and sweet but still get the message across. You found the right guys at the right time and made something special dude. Favourited for sure :)
Those are the cleanest train hoppers I have ever seen. CLean clothes, clean new looking packs, and newish looking skate shoes (who hops in skate shoes?) I call bullshit.
i was homeless hopping trains for a few yrs...altho i miss it ..i kinda am happy i got a pc an apartment..and im not cold anymore..but the freedome is great!
why do people still picture the depression era style hobos when they think of tramps now adays? cell phones are not hard to come by and every town in america has public access to computers. These are people who have grown up with a basic computer knowledge. Its not like they were born on the tracks. Its a new generation of tramps.
Panasonic HMC 150 right out of the box. It was an impulse. Just used the battery that came with it and whatever charge was remaining after shipping. We shot from about about 3pm to dusk. Same camera we shot "A Horrible Way to Die" with and later Adam bought it from me to shoot the camcorder footage in the Blair Witch reboot. Global shutter. Loved that camera.
oh okay, it sounded different on text. I actually settled down 2 years ago. Im now planning on buying land and living off grid. ( though getting the money is proven difficult but, soon enough il have it hehe )
he had hella money and left it to go for an "adventure".... im not sure that speaks lifestyle... and he does have family money to fall back on... kinda different than being actually homeless.
I mean.....I hope this was a joke. They were jumping on a train coming in...? now I watched it to the end and am seriously questioning the legitimacy of this. Sigh.
Huh. You might be on to something friend. Lol. I hop alot of trains and can honestly say I've never jumped on one headed in to a yard. Haven't seen what you're talking about but believe you.
Well here something that will help you, I know about 20 poeple who died doing this the last 2 years. Dont do it if you dont know what the fuck your doing, were not doing this for recreational activities, were doing this to travel cause were too poor to get cars. Dont hate on Homeless people if afterward you want to do what they do.
@jwallbanger there's just something crazy inside me urging to go, and yet something else wants to stay, inside the comfort, smug drive to the office, etc. I dunno. I think getting drunk in the streets is definitely the dead end, but travelling the world mindfully is an education in the best sense of the word. I dunno tho, good question. I guess I have a month's vacation coming up, live and see. But it's all one life, flowing like a river. Peace man.
i noticed the brand new shoes. not a mark or scuff on the soles. teeth 99% whiter, straighter, and cleaner than mine. and i live inside now. im in my late thirties. being a hopper or whatever is more a young persons lifestyle in my opinion. i still live that broke ass life, but i got a solid roof over me. i kick it with the the youngster travelin kids in town. im not into being a 50 year old hobo. if thats lame, then im lame. these kids seem like that word i hate. the "o" word. each their own.
A smart one arent you. Did you ever heard of a Drop-In ?! or an Internet Cafe....No, you probably never did, homeless people are ressourcefull compare to most people who live the "real life"
@619awesomeo atleast it gets exercise and freedom, unlike most dogs living in middle class family's are locked up all day while owners go to work/school.
Ha. Some of these posts are ridiculous. I lived out of a backpack for 7 1/2 years. If you are sensible and use your head you learn where to camp to be safe, and get good sleep. You generally make more money asking for it than you will working a menial job. If you want to go just go and see what you learn!
why do you feel bad for the dog? he looked well fed he was eating a dead animal when they found him do you think its a better solution for him to get cought by animal control and then put to sleep if he doesnt get adopted! dogs die everyday cause of animal control shows how much of an animal lover you are
@jwallbanger Thanks for your thoughts. I generally agree. I LIKE my job, own office, boss is remote. Have my own business on the side. Not a dream job, but the conditions are chill. Freedom, I think, is not about just being a hobo. That's more like sloth and apathy. I never understood why homeless people congregate in the slummy parts of big cities instead of either hanging out in hip college towns or even trying to set something up outside the urban. (continued)
A Really Nice Piece of Work...

why do people still picture the depression era style hobos when they think of tramps now adays? cell phones are not hard to come by and every town in america has public access to computers. I shouldn't watch stuff like this. I'm doing my best to fight the urge to get on a train and go. It sure doesn't help seeing what I'm missing.
oh okay, it sounded different on text. I actually settled down 2 years ago. Im now planning on buying land and living off grid. ( though getting the money is proven difficult but, soon enough il have it hehe )
That certainly was a short documentary
he had hella money and left it to go for an "adventure".... im not sure that speaks lifestyle... and he does have family money to fall back on... kinda different than being actually homeless.
Hahahah does no one see the joke here? this was hilarious
I mean.....I hope this was a joke. They were jumping on a train coming in...? now I watched it to the end and am seriously questioning the legitimacy of this. Sigh.
