This is probably the first time, in a long time, that the crew is playing the actual 100 card lists since MTGO has been behind on adding new cards. Last episode featuring Dr. Who cards was a nice addition as well. Hoping they do more with cards unavailable online; maybe Warhammer, but I can definitely see the Fallout decks.
32:59 - Counterpoint doesn't actually counter the comuppance. Because Comuppance is higher up the stack, it fully resolves before counterpoint can counter it. Leaving counterpoint with no target.
I was just about to mention this. This is fairly niche interaction of target swapping spells that is often missed, allowing them to fizzle counterspells. Precisely same way as with Crim using Counterpoint to cast a Removal spell to kill the target of Fell the Mighty to fizzle it. Legit mistake to make.
If you asked me to match a deck from this set with each of the players, there was never another option and I haven't even seen the video yet. This set of decks was perfect for you guys

18:14 Fun rules fact: Triggered abilities begin with "When..." The hooded hydra ability says "as..." Which is why it's not a triggered ability, it's a replacement ability that is modifying the morph activated ability.
To add: triggered abilities also begin with “Whenever…” and “At…” And if Hooded Hydra worked how Seth hoped, the ability to add five counters would go on the stack, and before it resolved Hooded Hydra would die as a state-based action since it’s a 0/0 😛
That was a lot of fun! Kudos to Crim for making so much out of a 100 precon cards, Kudos to Richard for not losing his mind because his deck can only build pillow forts
Around 32:55 Fell the Mighty should have resolved. Boltbender changes the target of Counterpoint with Comeuppance but, since Comeuppance resolves first, Counterpoint doesn't have a valid target anymore, so it can't resolve when it tries to and Crim wouldn't have been able to cast Price of Fame to "fizzle" Fell the Mighty.
Seth gets a lot of grief for not casting his Commanders, but it's hard to excuse not casting your hybrid mana 2 drop Commander... in the precon... which is built around your Commander
Seth only looking at sorceries and instants to determine how much removal is in the deck, there's actually about 9 targeted removal and 4 board wipes, just a bunch on creatures. Also seeing a bunch of comments on power imbalance based on one gameplay; of the 6 I've watched, Nelly won 2, Clues won 2, Surveil won 1, and Kaust won 1, so I'd say they actually look pretty balanced, although even though it won one, Kaust does seem like it struggled to get going the most of the 4 in all the games.
