@@VacDrumLover9646 thank you! I promise it’s coming soon! Just need to find a couple things for it and then a video is coming soon! Thanks again for watching!
I’ve never seen one of these up close and personal, I remember the ads, but the most I ever saw in my local shops were the wind tunnel SP twin chamber bagless, and even though that model wasn’t designed as well as the bagged model, it still makes me feel nostalgic since that model was the newest when I was a kid
I've always liked the design of the bagged Windtunnel 2 (though I do imagine the performance and quality isn't as good as the OG Windtunnel though), I definitely want to find one myself, maybe the blue version if I'm lucky. This may be speculation, but I believe the brush roll to these Maytag made Windtunnel 2's are shared with the Windtunnel Self Propelled.
@@graysonsvacsandmowers5426 very true! I believe you’re correct on the brushroll, but I’d have to double check to be certain. Thanks again for watching!
I had the blue and white Bagless version it wasn't bad it actually had a really good pickup and it really did a great job cleaning the carpet except that filter design was horrible you couldn't gain access to it to properly maintain it and at times it would get stuck and it wouldn't clean itself properly so the overall design was nice but that filter design was horrible
What an interesting find. I believe this was Hoover’s first upright made by TTI. The bagless model with the self cleaning filter was worse than the bagged version. Dirt would still be in the filter, and the parts that rotate the filter could break. I saw one video from 2008 where a guy complained about the filter not cleaning itself after a couple of uses, so it goes to show how flawed the whole idea of a filter cleaning itself really is. I like how they used the idler arm from the windtunnel self propelled to control the brush roll. The W2 bag seems to be very small. They never added an exhaust filter on either models, which is weird. The performance of these wasn’t bad, and the hose is very long. The plastic on these are very brittle. I believe they only made these from 2006-2010. A lot of these were probably thrown away, so I would say these are rare.
@@eviecardinal I believe you’re correct! These being one of the first TTI Hoovers. Yep, I think that with a little weight reduction and better filtration and this machine could have done miles better on the market. Thanks for sharing! And thanks again for watching!

Thanks for this video Karl! Believe it or not, this bagged WindTunnel II did very very well in Consumer Reports tests at the time. I think I remember it earned a rare “Excellent” score for deep carpet cleaning. I am pretty sure it scored poorly in the “Ease of Use” category….due to its weight and bulk.
@@briant5378 Thank you! I totally believe it! I did find that it does really well on the carpet and as a competitor to Dyson at the time, it definitely tried its best. However, the weight of this machine was its downfall for sure. Thank you again for watching!
One of the last machines that Hoover made with Maytag when it debuted in 2006 that pretty much killed them along with the Z. I wanna find all of the models as they getting more scarce.
I would say the gimmicky name for the hose would have been to set it apart from the Elites, Bravos, and Featherlites that were still being sold by Hoover, Eureka, and Dirt Devil in the early 2000s.
Hello my friend, After watching your video on this vacuum I had to have one. So I found one on eBay but one of the back wheels was broken during shipping. Do you know where I could find one? I do have the green turbo tool but nothing else.
@@Bunkysworkshop Hi there! I believe that other windtunnels used the same wheels, but I’m not as well versed in Windtunnel parts. I believe that they all used the same axle bolt and retainer washer, so I’m sure they’re not hard to change. Good luck with it though! I look forward to seeing yours :)
I feel like the only reason they would be rare is because they are awful to work on and nearly impossible to fix unless you have a good spares machine and that in itself is rare lol
@ the shop I work at we’ve had a few come in that were just a cleaning and 1 recycle so I took the recycle and parted it out I’ve made about $156 off of it so far
Actually my mom had a Bagless canister by Regina in 82 that was also a steam carpet cleaner. It kind of looks like the version of rinse o matic with a regina power team electric broom power nozzle
