Yall this man know what’s he’s doing. I was being impatient but trust me stick with the video and he will save you money!! Thanks for the awesome tutorial sir
I found that same one in the trash but the one I found had a cut cord to the vacuum and I took it all apart and I brought A new power cord for the vacuum and took the vacuum apart and connect the new power cord to the Hoover Windtunnel 2 Whole House and put the vacuum back together again and the vacuum works and it's all thanks to you.
Wow, a vacuum that makes money....one penny at a time. Sorry couldn’t resist. Dust caking on the filter wasn’t a surprise, thanks to your previous curbside finds but glad to see you haven’t lost your touch. Looking forward to seeing reassembly.
Thanks for the video. Excellent video. I just took my vacuum apart 2 days ago. Same model. You took it apart a little more than me. Had this since it came out and just found out about the filter on the bottom above the level adjuster lol. Whoops! Vacuum still working good.
Thanks for taking time in making this video. Wondering if you could comment on how to clean the FIRST FILTER that is part of DIRT CUP. I am naming the filter that is like a DISC and has BLUE HUE as SECOND FILTER. I can imagine that the FIRST FILTER is for Coarse particulates while the SECOND and THIRD filter (Hepa) is fine and very fine particulates.
All my floors are laminate and when I used the beater bar while barefoot, I can feel the dirt hitting my feet. So I disconnect the spinning bar and narrow the air path a bit with clear packing tape to increase air velocity. This helps my Hoover pick up cat litter granules off the floor better. It works well.
I took my dog for a walk and I found a curb side same vacuum cleaner tiday . I cleaned the filters and checked for cliffs but it’s still not puckung up right . Thank you for the video it just might be the canister as you are saying I hope this will help it also when it does pick up it leaves lines any out put on that ?
How did you remove the clear/white vented plastic cover that goes over the cord rewind? You can see the piece, removed, at 12:54 in the video. I took out the two screws that seem to hold it in, and I have separation from the back piece but somehow it's still held in there. I didn't want to force it and break it, so I'm looking all over to see if I'm missing a screw and I can't find anything!
Okay. So after watching the other video, I'm thinking I just have to force it off... I don't see any plastic tabs that have to be pressed to release it, and all you did to reinstall was put in the two screws I already have out. So here's to hoping I don't break anything! 🤞🏻 I'm only removing to try to clean the inside of the clear window for better viewing of cord rewind/action. Thank you for the response, your videos are great! I have subscribed with pleasure. -Nick
My neighbor that is 97 has this vacuum cleaner its been overheating and burning the belt. I cleaned the top filter out plus washed only installing it after it dried out. The bottom filter I just brushed off and patted it out, I'll have to order that filter if I replace it which I guess its like 14-20 bucks when I looked online it seems to be out of stock, just the filter though. The filter and plastic housing is 20 dollar but she doesn't need the housing for it. I guess at this point I think she might be better off just buying another vacuum. She said she checked all the hoses but I might have to recheck them to be sure maybe that bottom hose as well. I just changed that belt like a week ago and its broke already she didn't even know it was broke till I looked. She called hoover today they told her what to clean out and look for but she is pretty up there in age. She is pretty disgusted at this point with it and wants to buy another one anyways. I think I will take another look at it, I am not really a handy man but I understand it needs to be clean and air needs to flow well. I asked her if she has ever cleaned the filters before she said no, so in the last 7 years she only dumped the bin but never cleaned either filter or changed them. Which makes me think the motor is damaged in a way where its just overheating anyways with airflow being there but I can't really say. If you have any ideas I'll listen to them? I did tell her she needs to make sure she cleans the filters from now on, there is some caked dust inside the cyclone shape plastic I did clean it the best I could seems I will have to wash it to really clean it. I guess there might be clog or hole some where I will just have to look for it more next time.
@@VacLab Yeah I agree, I've seen some on sale around here so its a good time to do so. I will teach her how to clean each part and read when to replace things to her for sure. Thanks for the reply, I will help her pick one out tomorrow if she is ready to go.
Negative pressure flow is what many refer to as suction when referring to vacuum cleaners. Positive pressure flow is used to blow ones sidewalk off or across ones face to cool them down on a hot day. With respect to suction one needs flow and negative pressure, cant have one without the other. I don't think anyone is confused by this.
Most are confused by this due to the suction lie being sold currently in false marketing. And FYI, huge amounts of airflow can be paired with miniscule amounts of suction. My lab has conclusively proven that ad nauseum.
I see that you soaked the piece that holds the blue filter that can be rinsed. So, I don’t need to remove the 3 screws and be careful of the additional filter inside the plastic cone? I can just soak that entire piece? How long did it take for everything to thoroughly dry? I’m getting a tremendous amount of fine powder every time I vacuum, it’s frustrating and honestly unpleasant knowing that’s in my carpet. I moved in 2 years ago and had it professionally cleaned before I moved in. I’ve never encountered this before in any home.
I had this same problem! Try heating the top part with a hairdryer if you have one or hot water and it comes right off👍 it's very hard to get off the first time
Amazing tutorial! Question: What did you use to clean the parts in the bath? Was that laundry detergent? Hoover's videos say not to get the internal "cyclonic assembly" wet, but I assume that's just because they don't want you reassembling and running it wet? OR is there something else I need to know about before I attempt to give mine a good deep clean and bath? Thanks so much!!!
@@VacLab Ooh okay, so just a laundry detergent of some kind! Okay. Not like... shampoo or something! haha Quick drying as in, a good shake, a towel and then maybe setting in the sun or something? So they don't stay wet long? Thanks so much for the reply!!
I am hoping you explain how you got the canister pieces apart cause mine won't budge and need to get the hair out of it. Miss my 12 year old pet vac that came apart by a flick of the top.
I finally got it off today after posting this. Was stuck good! Now that I finally got it twisted open (opens counter clockwise) it opens much easier now. Was thinking it was actually glued shut on my model but it was just being stubborn lol.
I have a question how do u replace the power the switch? Reason being mine jammed and I bought a replacement butIcan seem to pull out the 2 wires to replace the switch.
my dog bite into my cord and i had someone splice it and cover it with electrical tape. worked well for a while and then it started to short out at the taped area and then it just stopped working. will not come on. someone told me it might have arced and ruined the motor. is that possible and should i just have the cord replaced?
@@VacLab Right, unless maybe it's mouse or rat poop etc. My Wind tunnel 2 model number is "U70820" there is no H in that number as many others have, so how old do you think it is? Also can you safely wet wash the metal part of the canister inside with all the small holes in it? Some people say the factory says no? I don't have a manual for mine. Thanks in advance.
So my dyson dc14 fullkit has a sour clothes smell if that makes since. I have completely cleaned it the only thing I have done is replaced the filters. It doesn’t have the washable hepa filter. I did wash the premotor filter I’m leaning towards the filters being stinky. Any ideas.
If it was my DC14, everything (except the motor) gets fully submerged in a disinfectant tub of water for a few hours. I use Persil. Then quick dry everything (direct sunlight and some airflow).
VacLab I had read online that the cyclone assembly will trap bad smells but it’s spotless. I may have to do like you suggested and take it completely apart and wash everything.

Got the same machine today except for blue trim. 8:17 Manual says you should clean the filter.
I saw one of these in someone's yard. Just it was gray and orange. I wish I got it LOL cuz these are nice Hoovers.

I am loving the storm at the end, I wish we got storms like that in Arizona
If the vacuum won't stay upright anymore, would it be possible to easily fix this issue? Or is a new part needed for that ?
Yes, new part required.
