I have driven in the mountains and plains of Bosnia, and it will be fine in the city, but the battery performance of electric vehicles may be a problem on those hills. Since only 20,000 vehicles will be sold in 2023, lotary was drawn among those who wanted to buy them, and 178,000 people who wanted to buy entered the lot by paying a deposit of approximately 3,000 USD. For example, I wanted to buy it, I registered 5 times with the names of family members and friends, and it came out 2 of them. The first row is in the 1200's and the other in the 16000's. I think this is the general situation and a reason why 178k people join. In fact real person was not soo high. 4. The reason why Turkish people are extremely interested in this vehicle is unfortunately that other cars are very expensive and not available. Taxes are very high, for example the cheapest VW Tiguan with TOGG counterpart is now 62.000 USD in Turkey. Used cars are more expensive than new cars. 7. I wonder whether this expensive car can ever compete with cars like Tesla. $65000 is a lot of money. Prices of EV’s will go down the coming years and sales volumes (millions) are crucial for a surviving the upcoming onslaught.

As a Turkish engineer who worked at tier 1 manufacturer who worked with Togg, I would like to add a couple information and opinion here, about Togg. I haven't Togg them or any Turkish newspaper claiming they are using Boron. This is probably some conspiracy theory online. Secondly, 180k car seem bit too much for preorder just from local market but This is expected because of Turkish tax code. Tax of an ICE/Internal combustion engine cars is More than car itself here in Turkey. While taxes of EV is 20ish% So this car is a lot cheaper than B, C or D segment ICE cars. First half of August 2023, 909 Togg were delivered and this is more than total deliveries of July. It looks like They might deliver more than 15k car this year, maybe close to 20k. So, If this company had capacity to deliver 180k, they would be able to sell it in Turkey alone. why should anybody pay more for an ICE car at this point, If you can have an EV at cheap, that is the consensus of many peoples here in Turkey.
Not all those who paid for a reservation are planning to drive the car. Many of them want to take advantage to sell the car new to a customer that would pay more to not wait for the car to be available. What I mean is that the factory capacity is 20 thousand ish car a year. So if you can put your hands on a togg early you can easiply sell it brand new for a good profit because the buyer otherwise would have to wait many years to have the car.

Hello sir, great video. I just wanted to tell you why 170000 orders is actually possible. In Turkey cars have really high taxes, what i mean by that is in turkey we pay more than 3 times the amount for any foreign car. Togg wont have that, which means a better class car for the same price of a new seat leon for instance. Not only that but in Turkey currently inflation is soo high that people want to invest, and unfortunately because of its prices cars have become investments for Turkish people.
I really enjoy your many videos. I just have a comment on energy density. Watts per kilogram is not a unit of energy density. A watt is a unit of power, not energy. I think you meant watt-hours per kilogram. (If you want a simpler unit for energy density, you could use joules per kilogram. 3600 joules = 1 watt-hour.)

There is no doubt Tesla is far ahead of it's competitors, but that does not mean newcomers will invariably lose. We'll have to wait and see. However I do believe that TOGG should also aim for a much cheaper affordable model for millions of would be buyers in developing countries, who really don't care if the car has all these smart features but care about getting from point A to point B economically and in an environment friendly way.
Great analysis, thank you. A few points if I may: Turkey is partly in Europe and partly in Asia. Regardless of the worldview of the governing party, Turkey is not a Middle Eastern country, and Middle East is not a continent. The other thing is that, this EV company was founded on the orders of the President, and was heavily promoted by the governing political party during election rallies. For this reason it is highly politicized. Some of the pending orders may be to be on the good side of things.
I spent some time in Oslo. I thought I was in the Middle East. Proven fact: there are more rich people living in Türkiye than there are Vikings living in Scandanavia.. Who said anything about a Boron battery ??? I've heard it from you first, and I follow news from TOGG since it was formed 4 years ago.

there definitely are 180000 willing buyers (even more than that, regular ICE cars are already very expensive) to buy this EV. on the condition that the manufacturer can ramp up. 12k deliveries until last week. gas prices are proportionally higher than the rest of the world. So people have a real incentive to switch to EVs. government is behind this project. so in Turkey, you can see the most abrupt decline in ICE market in the world, the only problem is the production ramp up.

tur·key noun a large mainly domesticated game bird native to North America, having a bald head and (in the male) red wattles. It is prized as food, especially on festive occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I'm from Turkey. To understand peoples demand for this EV, you should understand Turkish economic situation first. Erdogan government directs Turkey with extreme populism. They decreased interest rates to 8.5 points while inflation at 72 percent (according to independent researches at 137) In this process they sold all USD reserves of Central Bank to stabilize Turkish Lira (TL), and they are still selling USD they borrowed. (The reserves are at -43 B USD right now) In 3 weeks, there will be an election, the goverment is doing these things to win. In these economic conditions, people expect a huge collapse after the election. They want to protect their purchasing power in the future. That's why they use TL credits as much as they can while interest rates are low. And the biggest credits are given for buying a house or a car. People are demanding for not only Togg, they demand for all other brands. You cannot find any brand new car in the market right now. They are collected by blackmarket dealers immediately when they arrived at the country. To understand how crazy the market is right now, you can check used car prices in Turkey. For example, Peugeot 408 is 1.2 M TL at the price list of Peugeot, but you have to pay 1,7 M TL to buy a USED one. By the way, Togg is a very suspicious project right now. Many people think that it is made for Erdogan's propaganda. There isn't any unit delivered to citizens yet. They haven't let the press members to testdrive freely and visit inside the factory. And there isn't any crash test of this car.
I am Turkish and I never heard anyone from TOGG or any politician propagating about it claiming that togg runs on Boron battery, As far as I know its current battery is not even domestically produced You must be trolled
Would probably fall to pieces after a month, no thanks, having experience with Turkish machinery they are not well built so i wouldn't expect this to be any different and the manufacturers lie a lot about the specs of their machines, for 60k to 80k US which is what it is being speculated its a hard pass.
Do not buy Togg. This brand has never made it to production line for the general public for a good reason. My uncle bought one (to support Erdogan) but he already has major problems with the controllers. The car starts and stops suddenly, the side windows do not close and open as they should, the car doesn't do half of the max mileage. Stay away, buy a hyundai, kia or some Japanese instead. Even Dacia is a lot better car than Togg.
you are a liar as I doubt if you are even a Turkish citizen, Tugg car works very well and the coming models will be more advanced & higher performance capabilities, sus lan.

Türkiye has already a long history in assembling cars but the Togg seems to be more or less done by themselves and also some propaganda towards other neighboring countries. Togg is no revolution in technology but on the level of most European SUV. That some people would buy local if they have the money if the product is reliable is for sure. Also in some export markets that could be kind of ‚religious‘ statement but not more. So let’s see the first official testdrives besides actual president and his wife. Is she allowed to drive herself?
Women are allowed to drive in Turkey (if they want to). Also, Turkish population will buy Turkish made products first before anything else. Many Turkish people feel a strong sense of national pride and believe that buying locally made products helps to support the Turkish economy and preserve Turkish culture.

Forgot the Balkans, mate! We here are neighbours and if they offer a solid EV for bargain prices, especially they (Turkey) has exceptions for the EU, they may be an emerging player. Why not?! Competition is master and in the market!
I was among 177,000 people, and I was not lucky. 20000 people who want to buy TOGG are very lucky.
Maybe you’re lucky because there will be updates
You meant partly in Europe and partly in Asia. Turkiye is not in the middle-east
İ am sure they even sold more than you are not beliveing, i now people waiting in the line to get their Luxury quaity Togg Suv...
bruh. all is real don’t worry.
İts so good. I was drive
In Europe millionnaires drive Rolls Royce, in Türkiye they drive Mercedes ‘cause it costs millions thanks to our %220 tax + %20 VAT, that is probably why you think you have not seen them :) 😂😂
I hope Türkiye can be successful doing this, their economy really needs it. Their rate of inflation is completely ludicrous, so exports are needed. But the dumb economic policies that caused this are Erdoğan's fault.
You don’t need to be a millionaire to buy a $50,000 car!
20 years ago, it seems anyone can start a company making cell phones... Now it is EVs. Will see how many will survive...
Where are you from?
@@arasf3828 US. What about you? and Why do you care about that?
@@UYT7715Flower I clearly see :)
Turkey is one of the biggest exporters of military grade drones, Secondly these cars are aimed middle class not millionaires
Yep Mercedes likely Togg is well build well designed car .
More Toggs needed. They sold less than a thousand in May and June. Numbers must be more than tenfold!
Partly in Asia and partly in the Middle East? 😅😅
Many people in USA living in rented apartments drive 50000 dollars car. You don’t have to be millionaire to buy 60000 dollars togg car
Coz Chinese EVs are heavily taxed Togg will sell well. Same in US, other brands have room to sell coz no Chinese
China makes majority of ev batteries for ev industry
I have a really big dream right now 💝
Turkiye instead of Turkey
It's a stupid habit in my mind, but languages have their own traduction of countries names, towns, regions, even first names. It's just the way it is. Languages are the most democratic thing on earth, which means "made from idiocy, by idiots, for idiots".
Electric cars almost every country is now producing them but which one is more reliable that’s the question. I would say Tesla BYD MG Mercedes are in my top list. How is Turkey electric car I don’t know yet but keep making them if it’s reliable
Almost every country?
there definitely are 180000 willing buyers (even more than that, regular ICE cars are already very expensive) to buy this EV. on the condition that the manufacturer can ramp up. 12k deliveries until last week. gas prices are proportionally higher than the rest of the world. So people have a real incentive to switch to EVs. government is behind this project. so in Turkey, you can see the most abrupt decline in ICE market in the world, the only problem is the production ramp up.
Is it true S Korea residential building underground parking Mercedes self combusted burning out 140 cars! Uses Farasis Energy battery
Ternary self combusting battery
There are millions of Turkish lira millionaires
❤❤❤
I'm not going to say it's great and wow and all this comment that Erdogan's trolls are commenting to fool you, you don't get what you pay for, it's a big risk.
The design actually reminds me of the Skoda Enyaq iV, not a Merc
This video aged really bad 😂.
Togg only sold 19.583 unit in 2023
In 2024 they only sold 4.145 unit.
I suspect that you either buy one or fall out of favor with the government.
😂😂
Why the radiator grill? I don’t like the look of a grill, never have. Always loved low drag aero designs such as Lotus Elan, Corvette, Ferrari,Porsche and others. If you don’t need a big toothy grin don’t put it there!
Chinese are dominating in this sector
Well turkey has more than 80 million inhabitants so enough to buy a 50k car...but anyways
Togg sounds like an something an Australian would say as an insult. Aye mate, look at that Togg.
Energy content pr kg = Wh not W
1 million ytl equals 50 grand aussie its pretty cheap really cheap
The most ridicilous and funny thing I’ve seen today was watching some random dude commenting about a country with a population of ~85 million people (which definitely not located in the middle east 😂😂) and asking if the 0.2% of the population in this country are “billionaire” enough to buy this “$50,000” car (pathetic🤣). Dudeee, there are gazillions of same priced&classed cars rolling down on streets here 🫠. Hope you do not keep up this funny bias work like that fella 🐤.
But, again an SUV and from 47500€ in Europe at 2024. 😉
Turkish Tugg
Simply LOL at this EV effort.
Hmm, Hi-tech 3:35 latest in tech, an old HP Windows XP computer.....
Food, test drive the car and give us a review. It's 21st century and world has advanced. Exit the bigotry bandwagon and get real
It looks like Tesla 🎉
red flag for me🚩 why would you pay money to an authoritarian regime who have never built a car before when you can get Toyota's new hydrogen cell car for less
Turkey ? Wtf
tur·key
noun a large mainly domesticated game bird native to North America, having a bald head and (in the male) red wattles.
Turkey is so corrupt and the people lie so much. I don’t even see this getting off the ground.
Nah Togg will happen just like the drones, just give it time
Vay vatan haini vay
Yabancı bir platformda ülkenizi neden aciz gibi gösterirsiniz hiç anlayamıyorum. Karakteriniz yok !
YOU
You're saying lie is just a political manipulation
I am Turkish and I never heard anyone from TOGG or any politician propagating about it claiming that togg runs on Boron battery, As far as I know its current battery is not even domestically produced
You must be trolled
Would probably fall to pieces after a month, no thanks, having experience with Turkish machinery they are not well built so i wouldn't expect this to be any different and the manufacturers lie a lot about the specs of their machines, for 60k to 80k US which is what it is being speculated its a hard pass.
Akinci,TB-2 will not agree with you
you are correct there are videos that factory default bad construction
You are very funny
Do not buy Togg. This brand has never made it to production line for the general public for a good reason. My uncle bought one (to support Erdogan) but he already has major problems with the controllers. The car starts and stops suddenly, the side windows do not close and open as they should, the car doesn't do half of the max mileage. Stay away, buy a hyundai, kia or some Japanese instead. Even Dacia is a lot better car than Togg.
İftiracı sahtekar ülkeni başkalarına şikayet etme aşağılıklığından ne zaman kurtulacaksınız?
you are a liar as I doubt if you are even a Turkish citizen, Tugg car works very well and the coming models will be more advanced & higher performance capabilities, sus lan.
You are a hater.
Haters gonna hate
I'll take the Tesla Y at $10K less over this any day of the week. Turkish manufacturing is poor to put it politely. Can't believe everything you read on the Internet.
Teslas material quality is so poor tbh
Sounds a bit 'BORING'..........
How is 320 watts/kilogram newsworthy when the Worlds biggest battery Mfg. has just stated it is beginning production, this Year on 500 watts/kilogram batterie............Is CATL now in the business of lying.????...............Paul
how many kWh/kg is tesla's battery?
@@johnsmith-cw3wo then the togg battery isn't bad
Not to mention the high protectionist import taxes on foreign goods, which are hardly surprising, considering the state of the Turkish economy
