The documentary deals in length on evolution of steam locomotives. It completely falls short in informing the adaption and value engineering countries like france, Germany has done on steam traction to make it oriented to their operations, through making it cost competitive to operate, precisely through advancements in the boilers. India imported the wp series of canadian steam engines. Chittaranjan loco works successfully indegenised the locomotives. Rudolph diesel experimented with diesel engines characterized by internal combustion systems. Progress on the same was done latter through the two stroke systems with advancements in turbo charging. This was latter adapted by emd😊 and alco. Turbo charging enhanced the efficiency of diesel engines significantly. There is no information on evolution of electric locomotives either and development of the propulsion systems and traction . Britain adapted electrical systems in late 1960s with dc traction and diesel. Companies like North British did some good developments on the same. Locomotives from North British was imported by Indian railways as well for metre gauge operations. There is no information on the mass transit metro railway systems which is presently contributing significantly towards intercity traffic. Metro systems was developed in Britain almost at the same time when it ran coal traction. Russia also developed it's metro systems long back. To mention Indian railways has done some significant adaption of most advanced railway technologies oriented to its own operating systems. This is beginning from single phase to three phase over span of 75 years.
