This went on for about 10 minutes. He wanted the peanut butter filled Kong, but he didn't want to be brushed. I have the Kong and the brush on the floor next to me.
I can't imagine a cat going to all this trouble for some peanut butter. It would probably just go straight to the kitchen while you were watching TV and ransack the place...

She barks, then gives me The Big Eye that Dachshunds are famous for. 👀 Then she switches to playing the "cute card." If I'm working or busy at the moment, the trick is to NOT make eye contact. Once you make eye contact...it's ON!! 😳 But 99% of the time I give in. She's just too damn cute not to LOL! 🙈
I love Oscar and it was cute for about thirty seconds but then it just is obvious exploitation and even seems sort of cruel even if you don"t see it that way.Dauchsunds are cute just doing natural things, they don"t need to be aggrivated.Aggrivating our pets is not cute.But of course, Oscar is very cute.Just show natural dauchsund cute moments, whether burying a bone, napping, playing with toys, whatever. Oscar would appreciate it, too, I am sure.
The emotions doxies go through are just too much when begging. Look how he starts off nicely asking for the peanut butter, then - oh, oh, feel sorry for me, then pretty please, I'm going crazy, and then damn it, give me the peanut butter - NOW!!!

@thestroll1 Yes, it is true. They are a stubborn breed. Oscar was a bit difficult to train, although he was sort of easy to paper train, we had a hard time getting him to go outside. He was also always the last dog to learn tricks in obedience class (and the instructor there agreed it was the breed).
@haloreachplayer5 Everyone in my household likes to give in to our mini doxie and our doxie/jack russell, but I like to make the dogs work for a treat. It doesn't even have to be a lot that I ask for, maybe a sit and a down, but I like them to work for it, otherwise they get too fat (like they aren't already..)
My female duschund is just like him. She is pretty but sometimes could be really stubborn. She probably thinks that she also another human. I love her though.
Can you tell me if Dachshunds are hard to house train? Was thinking of getting one, but a breeder of these dogs said they are not easy to housebreak. Do you find this true?

Brushing is important for even a smooth doxie's coat, as it helps with the oils in the coat. I do agree that this shouldn't have gone o. For so long.
