- Backpacking Australia East Coast 🇦🇺 Episode 10📍The Great Barrier Reef
Woweee, we have arrived in our final stop Cairns and heading straight on to a liveaboard boat in the Great Barrier Reef for 2 days of scuba diving! I'm doing this excursion with Divers Den who were absolutely brilliant. I slept on the boat and completed 5 dives plus their 'sharks in the dark' experience.

FAQ's
How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RUclips videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

I loved Cairns when I did my working holiday in 2012. This is so nostalgic :)
Absolutely gorgeous presentation my friend, such a great and fantastically composed upload! Bravo 👏
Thanks Christianne. Those dives looked incredible on my big TV here in Ireland. Fantastic.🐠👍😊🇦🇺🦘🐨
Your video editing and storytelling is amazing. You lead such an adventurous life ,thank you for sharing it with us.
Great video wonderful Christie!!! 💖💖 Diving with sharks sounds exiciting and frightening!!!
I can't wait to learn to dive with divers den and go on liveaboard! You inspire me so so so much!
i used to work there on the liveaboard, it makes me nostalgic! ☺️🫶
I went on a 3 nights 4 days snorkeling tour with divers den because of this video, and it was truly the best experience of my life 😭 thank u for that ♥️
I think your diving videos are my favorite you do. You inspired me to go for my first time in Thailand in the beginning of the year. I went to Koh Chang and fell in love with diving, can't wait to return this winter and get my open water certification. Thanks for the videos.
This is so exiting. I stayed on the Ocean Quest for 3 nights in 2016 and made my open water divers licence there. So nostalgic to see everything again! I also did the sharks in the dark experience back then and it was so cool! On one of our first 'alone' dives we got so lost that we had to get rescued because we came up so far away from the boat😅 great times!
that was spectacular!
I can tell you enjoyed this so much 😊
Amazing 🎉
Wow! What great dives and footage! Loved the editing of the sharks at night...I can't believe you were left speechless. Lol Also, the music. Too funny!
I would take my wife on that diving tour on our honeymoon. No Doubt. Looks awesome.!
This liveaboard experience looks like such a good time and the underwater footage is amazing! Such a fun vlog and the sharks in the dark looked awesome. Hoping to get my scuba diving license later this year. :)
I wish I went with Divers Den! The boat looks much nicer and the meals look great and that cabin with a window!! I went with pro dive and they paired me with a buddy who only signed up the night before with no online learning done which would take days to complete as part of the open water diving course before he could start the training. They had him on anyways for the $$$. 30 divers shared 4 toilets with 2 out by the deck and the cabin with bunker beds had no window. Looking back Divers Den would have been a much better experience...
Thanks, I'm trying to pick between the two right now. My main concern is being able to find a good buddy (traveling solo) and being only freshly Open Water PADI certified. Pro Dive team seemed like they are more skilled since they can certify and train you?
I can't wait to learn to dive with divers ❤
Another great video. Thanks 🙏 I’d love a nosy video on how you can afford to travel like you do. Inspirational!
Amazing underwater footage as usual but that shark experience was something else
Wow wow this was spectacular, I love to see under the sea ( but from my sofa)! And this is definitely the best one you have done
Not sure on the sharks 🦈 though 😂
Excellent watched it twice xx
Great video 🎉🎉
That feeding sharks in the dark, sure beats my feeding the fish twisties. 😂 Thats when i did my 1st ever open water dive down in Port Phillip bay Melbourne. But we saw dolfins on the boatto the dive. 😜
As a cairnsy local one I've done v nice spacious live aboard great food to on the big liveaboard day boat can be bit full suggest week days and out of holiday times remember those night glow sticks now where's my dive buddy same glow colour stick lol
I would love to scuba diving in Great Barrier Reef in the future
The current looks crazy.
Omg 😳🦈 I had to put my phone down and watch from a few feet away 😅
omg the sharks look so scary
3:21....😂😂😂 Coming up for air.
I have a question: how were the showers and stuff? did you have a time limit for them? Futhermore how was drying equipment?
That dive with sharks was amazing! What kind of sharks were they and why wouldn't they eat humans? Perhaps they are reef sharks. I snorkelled in Cairns 15 yrs ago and wanted to dive, but I had an ear infection, so great footage underwater, looks like an amazing experience!! Thanks!
How beautiful! Where do you edit the colors of the go pro. They look so good
Thanks! Just on Final Cut Pro ☺️ I play around with the colours
Beautiful! Loved it a lot!❤️💕🥰🐳👙🐋🌸🌊👍🐠🌷🙂😍💧💦🌺🐟😘🐬
