Wow what a dive, definitely on my bucket lists of dives. As a resident of Southern California imma always looking for places to dive in warmer areas 🤿😅 what airline do you recommend flying from the US?

Hello, was this the Norman, Saxon, Hastings Reef or Pellowe Reef, Milln Reef, Thetford Reef or Flynn Reef

I’m not exactly sure I’m sorry! You can ask each shop where they take you before you book.

Even with shorty suits, a hood and gloves would have made the diving tolerable.

That looked like a lot of fun! I have never gone diving or anything before, but I'm sure it is quite a thrill once you learn. I could tell that there were so many neat fish to see at the reef!

Do they need a license for scuba diving? And can I use a GoPro camera? Thanks.

yes you will need at least an open water certification and yes you can almost always use a GoPro like we did

You two are living your best life!!! Great footage of the GBR. I like how the snorkelers had to wait for the divers to get in the water.... And I LOVE the bump head parrot fish!!

I was always curious about the GBR. Was it better or just as good as diving in Kauai?

      Great question!
Kauai is unique for its topography at Niihau and the rare Hawaiian Monk Seals that live there. The GBR is amazing for its biodiversity, specifically it’s corals and anemone fish. They are very cool in their own ways and it depends what kind of experience as a diver that you most enjoy!
For me, a lively reef is more fun to explore because there is just so much more life than the hard corals of the Hawaiian islands!

@@OnTodaysAdventure Gotcha, thank you for the feedback 😊

The water is pretty much at 25°C all year round at the GBR

Remember, just a few degrees different in the water requires very different exposure suits. Also the water temp changes significantly depending on the time of year. “The average water temperature in Cairns, Australia is 23.8°C (74.8°F) in July and 29.4°C (84.9°F) in January.”
