In light of this set back, we share steps that you can take to build your own resilience when major events impact your homestead. Being able to bounce back from adversity is a skill that every homesteader needs.
How can you become more resilient?
1) Remember times in the past when you overcame challenges
2) Know when you need rest and self-care
3) Build relationships with others
4) Find purpose every day
5) Be flexible
6) Challenge negative thoughts and replace them with positive thinking
7) Ask for help

Resilience, AKA "Plan B".
I know surgery is scary...I had a liver resection last January and am going to have en extended right hepatectomy followed by the ALPPS procedure in about 6 weeks...but I know, and I know that you know, that God is always, ALWAYS there for us. God will take care of me and He'll take care of you as well. Prayers from me and mine are headed towards you and yours. Blessings.

Oh my that diet is ....well yucky! If it was not for modern science and doctors I would have been gone a long time ago. (seriously) We have been blessed to be living in a time that we both can survive be fixed and go forward. A little set back (yes) but it's OK to get things out of the way before moving on. At this point I need 2 knees and a hip. It will happen at some point. Funny thing is, I worry more about Josie than myself. I don't want her to have to do my part. But she will because she is a giving person and a nurse (retired) plus she loves me.(Lucky for me) Just as I would her! You have exactly the right attitude, knowledge and family to make this work. Our good Lord knows you need this before you move on. Sorry so long..I could go on and on. Take care and my your family be blessed! OMG you did what with your wisdom teeth. They put me under, out like a light, and I was drugged up for a week. That experience took me to my limit. You’re a warrior. Great video. Stay resilient. Best wishes 🙏🙏
Farmer G let’s just say I wouldn’t do it again. It didn’t hurt but the sound was unbearable. It was like crunching bone inside my head. Would NOT recommend 🤦🏼♀️

You have such a sweet soul. I am so sorry you are going through trials. I have a feeling you guys aren't to far from us, my husband commutes to the Twin Cities for work if you guys find you are behind on starting seedlings, I always get a little too seed happy in March and would love to help you out!!
Essence Homestead that is amazing! Thank you for your kind offer. We are still going to start enough seeds to plant our own gardens, but I’m not going to grow extra plants to sell this year. When I’m feeling better it might be nice to have a little get together 😊

This is late but i am getting caught up on videos i missed.Then i find this video. Well in oct 2019 i became sick which lead to open heart surgery in march 9th bad valves from scralet fever when 4-5 yr old. I had planned my homestead for yrs, planning for the very time were in. yet all the debt free,canned food, the animals raised, And at a young age of 55yrs old i watched all for not . No planning for a illness is the one thing you can not plan for .I did plan for one level home and 36 inch door ways that did not help in the end.I am speaking out so others reading this will also come up with a plan for the unsupected happens.Hope all works out sounds as thou your in Gods hands now.

New trees are small. If you can get the trees in the ground, put a temporary barrier around each one.
Being around very many people makes my negative thoughts worse. People have so many demands and no matter how much you give, they want more. So I stay away.
EcoCentric Homestead yes. I’ve thought about doing that with the trees. We have so many deer up there. We’re going to put up a deer fence around the orchard perimeter. Countering negative thoughts takes effort and practice but it eventually becomes easier ❤️
