I would love to see James Daniel moved to center, his tape at Iowa was very impressive and move Nate Herbig to guard. That would be a power move on the Pittsburgh Steelers part.
Issac Seamulo was ALSO a college center at Oregon State too
The Pittsburgh Steelers starting offensive line in 2024, LT Broderick Jones, LG Isaac Seumalo, C James Daniels, RG Nate Herbig and the only position that’s up for debate is right tackle. What I love about each one of those guys, all of them are physical. Can you imagine having to deal with that offensive line for 4 quarters? There’s not a defense in the NFL that wants that problem.
The problem is that could’ve been the lineup last season…. So why wasn’t it-Herbig not good enough for RG or ineptitude by the coaching staff?
@@mike2687we all know that the ineptitude of pat Meyer is the reason he can’t keep a job Steelers are content with mediocre coaches as long as they are yes men
@@mike2687 The offensive line players are mainly picked by the offensive coordinator or the offensive line coach. But being that we didn’t have a good offensive coordinator, Pat Meyers was our offensive line coach. You can best believe Arthur Smith will pick who he wants on his offensive line.
@@carltonclaboine2855 - I certainly have more confidence in him than I do Tomlin making such decisions but I also get the sense that Tomlin makes plenty of calls on his own--I certainly thought that Jones on the left and Chuks on the right was a better combo than Moore and Jones... being that Chuks was benched for comments, it looked like the decision to keep him there, was a Tomlin move over Faulkner or Meyers.
Go back a couple more years and it was Green starting for 15 weeks before he was pulled in favor of JC... that had Tomlin written all over it too.
Regardless, and to your original point, I have no problem whatsoever about moving Daniels to C as long as he's onboard with the decision... but I think I'd feel better about drafting a RG at that point over Herbig meaning still having two needs along the OL in the draft.
@@mike2687 I would agree with you if Tomlin had more years on his contract but if Tomlin don’t make it to the Super Bowl. This will be his last year as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach and Arthur Smith will be the next coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Isaac Seumalo can play center. Started at center in numerous games at Oregon State.
I really like that idea instead of using a 2nd round pick , then we could get a solid 2nd round WR.
If he thinks center is his natural position and has the intangibles for a quality center then why not otherwise keep guys where they are best .
Just looked at his highlights and I’m not saying it’s easy w buttt (no diddy) I can see it
I am going to laugh at Deke when Pittsburgh selects Bub Means with pick 195. Just cause he hates him so much.
Put Dan Moore at rg
Um i don't think moores ever played guard he can't even play rt.
@@IcemanIceman-lt4st 🤣🤣🤣
Just draft a center. No reason to move people around
Then you happy with moore at rt there is no way in hell tomlin starts two rookies on oline. You don't need a great center all you need is a avg joe there. Unlike rt and lt edge rushers in todays nfl are freak athletes.
@@IcemanIceman-lt4st - drafting a C doesn’t mean drafting a great C-still probably getting a slightly above average one in the 2nd or 3rd.
Also, I wouldn’t discount the position for a run heavy offense this OC will implement along with a QB that takes a lot of sacks like we could for much of the NFL attempting to run high octane innovative offenses. This offense really does need a quality, not great and not avg Joe, Center.
Tomlin started 2 rookies with Moore and Green a few years ago.
I’m sick of putting players in positions they aren’t natural in look at Kendrick green look at our most recent 1st rounder Broderick
James Daniel’s played 2 years at center at Iowa. He was drafted to be the bears center but didn’t wanna put strain of being a center on a rookie so they played him at guard. Bears moved him back to center but then moved him back to guard when injuries happened. Daniel’s can play center
Broderick has done good at rt not sure you're point. Green just sucks
James Daniels was the highest rated center in his draft class
Broderick has been playing very well tf you mean😂
