In a sea often filled with semi serialized adventure comedies, HBO Max's Fired on Mars stands out as a diamond in the rough. It's fjording rocky terrain within the fastest growing sector of animation, and it could really use more eyes on it. Telling a story about one man navigating life within an artificial colony, the series is able to tell a rich, compelling story without sacrificing its innate dramatic elements. There's really nothing else like it out there so I wanted to review my thoughts on the series as it stands.
Pull up the trailer. Watch the show. Dig up the original short. Do what you can to signal your support. Check back into MAX on Thursday for a couple new episodes.

So glad that you’re here, Deli, as another major positive influence in the fandom of the medium of animation, to bring attention to such obscure underrated works as this!

As much of an injustice the capitalistic system has done to this show, it sure has been really uplifting seeing the cartoon community do what they can to push this gem of a show while it remains active.
And seeing your take on these things are always a welcome sight altogether.

I am so in love with this show. I have been leaving it on at night when I am falling asleep it has become my comfort show. I didn’t know anything about it I only watched it for Tim Heidecker and I was totally taken in. It was interesting hearing your review because I couldn’t put my finger on what I loved so much about it or why it affacted me so deeply emotionally. I am not a traditional animation fan, this is just a great SHOW, PERIOD. That ending was so solid. I was sad it was over, I realized when I had it on in the background all the silent moments it has….which I feel is rare for animation. Great review!

I've only heard about this series from my sister which says a lot. It's a shame because people were dog-piling another show that doesn't matter. It was truly the straw that broke the camel's back. I've grown to like Fired On Mars and I can't wait to see the rest of the season.

I dont think theres much that will come to the level of bojack. That was magic in a bottle in a time where things were and almost very much still are cookie cutter copy n paste

Yes I think so. It’s early days right now and they’re not super similar, but I’m up to episode 6 and it’s brilliant.
I think Bojack’s has a big range of tone, between more fantastical and comedic to really intense or upsetting, whilst FOM is a bit more pragmatic throughout, a lot of it so far is heavy in a ‘sink into your chair’ sort of way and the funnier moments aren’t like hilarious but you appreciate the lightness. They’re not very similar shows tbh, but in terms of being serious and enjoyable adult animation that avoids tropes and sitcom routes, I think it deserves to be appreciated.
That is if it even gets to survive and hbo doesn’t cancel it after one season or erase it god forbid

I haven’t finished BoJack but if FoM gets another shot, I could see it being just as iconic.

Bro I was so disappointed in this show I saw Luke Wilson's name I saw the concept and was very optimistic, It took everything in me to get through 5 episodes, Told myself I tap out but watched episode 6 which actually had a moment that legitimately made me laugh out loud but, The series is just bland and directionless, I've never watched a show where they encounter a breakaway group of people in hoods and robes and it's STILL boring

@@lFaxasl Bro the show is for mid-wits to watch so they can think they're smarter than they are, The variety and depth of things I've read is vast, I've read Masonic philosophy books published in the early 1900s that most college graduates would need a dictionary just to get through one chapter.
My brain is plenty developed the show is sub par it just doesn't deliver
