Brilliant work Luke! You are right about that green being used for calming, was also painted on the walls of psychiatric hospitals in the 1900s to serve the same purpose. Looking forward to what’s next!
I'm not gonna lie, I am impressed with your dedication to a Kitty Hawk kit! I've got an F-35B and SU-35 Flanker-E (Both in 1/48 scale from Kitty Hawk), and the F-35B was barely finished with no end of headaches, fillers in the wing roots and a lot of aggro. The Flanker-E was a loss as the wings were so thin and misaligned that I had no way of fixing it, so it's been relegated to spare parts for other kits. However, I've since acquired a 1/48 SU-30SM and SU-35S from Great Wall Hobby, and I am not starting either of those two until I've done my 1/48 HobbyBoss SU-27UB first as I've got an ambitious paint scheme planned for it, so it'll serve well as a 'training' kit before tackling my two big boys.
Well done! Nice buildon a challenging kit for sure! ...The Flanker really is a beautiful Aeroplane! ...But I agree, it's a bit naked with out the armament. Looking forward to the next build! Cheers!
@@machmodels I know exactly what you mean I now want to build every plane I saw on display..I can see my stash growing in numbers this week lol thanks mate keep up the great work!
Absolutely correct. Russian propaganda channel Combat Approved, has video about SU-30 SM. Reporter was firing canon at some logs of wood and there were flames all over canopy 😂😂😂. Planes fuselage can't endure that heat..
I think you need to play with Annealing photo-etched metal parts - and pre-bending around prior to gluing and then you'll be wow!! I have 2 Kitty Hawk Su3x kits - good job - I know that GWHs have the SU-2/3x nailed, but good to see these are buildable.
Turned out awesome! You got much farther then I ever did lol. First KH kit I got was a Su-27. The rear of the lower fuselage half was wider than the upper part. Also tried one of their 1/32 T-28 Trojans, had major fit issues with an insert on the rear fuselage of both halves. Gave up on both and never bothered with KH again.
Very nice work. I must admit that I like Kitty Hawk model kits. They do / did some great subjects and yes there kits can be challenging at times but I enjoy and get satisfaction when the kit is finished when challenged. I must be mad 😂 Keep up the good work and look forward to your next build 👍
Maybe this is why Kitty Hawk are no longer in business, looks like a good kit but to have all the issues that it has, any way Luke you did a great job with what you had, the end pics look great.
The video is very good, I bought myself a Su-30SM 1/72 from Zvezda. The only thing this model has is the wrong cockpit avionics. This is avionics from Su-30MK, M2, MKK.
7:35 it’s called the hud Edit: wait are you talking about the glass on the “dashboard” or are you talking about the “dashboard” I’m then not sure sorry
Nice work bro! However, KH's Su-30SM requires plastic surgery to make it shape-accurate. Cockpit is totally wrong, especially seats. They are anything but K-36DMs.
@@machmodels the only flaw you've made during this build is putting TV nozzles down to 0-0 degree. Al-31FP and Al-41F-1 nozzles are mounted 25 degrees outside to create side force vector rather than pure vertical as F-22 does. So the nozzles should look inwards-down (25 degrees) when the hydraulics pressure is out.

thank you joe!! very interesting, maybe it calmed me down from all the horrendous fit!!

thank you very much!! definitely a shame about the lack of ordnance for sure!
Glareshield might be the word you are looking for! 😉 Navigator sits in the back as well. Working my way through your videos! Awesome videos mate!
Haha yes! That’s it thank you very much, hope you are enjoying the content🤙🏻😁
Just got back from cosford airshow so this video is timed to perfection! Amazing job as usual mate! 😊
thank you!! how was the airshow?😁
@@machmodels really good day mate thank you! But very very hot..nothing like an airshow to make you want to build models though 😂
i always come back with another 100 projects on the to do list🤣 glad you had a good day!!
@@machmodels I know exactly what you mean I now want to build every plane I saw on display..I can see my stash growing in numbers this week lol thanks mate keep up the great work!
Perhaps Kitty Hawk tried to give the builder the feeling of working with actual Soviet engineering?
Pahahaha I love this comment, maybe!!😁🤣
You have done great work on an unbuildable kit!! hats off
thank you sir!!
I love your videos, and this one is no different. I have learned so many new techniques for my models. Thank you for the amazing content
thank you very much!!! i’m glad they are of some use :)
Wonderful work
Extremely original
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it :)
The metallic around the gun I believe is to make it easier to keep it clean from gun fire residue.
wow that would make sense!! thank you :)
Absolutely correct.

Reporter was firing canon at some logs of wood and there were flames all over canopy 😂😂😂.
Planes fuselage can't endure that heat..
Also, some horizontal stabs (Su-35) are also kept natural metal as a precaution due to the blast from launching weapons.
Wow - looks great!
thank you!! glad you like it :)
The Su-30MKI variant is my favorite Sukhios.
Very cool! I think the SM is still my favourite!🤙🏻

very good tip, i’ll try that for next time i’m using them!! definitely buildable… but a headache :)

thank you!! so moral of the story is just to stay away from kitty hawk kits… thank god i don’t have any more in the stash!!
Superb work, beautiful model 😍😍😍😍
thank you very much!!
The person in the back is called a weapons system operator and it is called a instrument panel
Thank you for letting me know!😁👌🏻
Terrific work MM! Really enjoyed the video👍🏼
thank you! glad you liked the video :)
I gave up on Shittyhawk kits long ago. Kudos for pushing onward with it.
haha i like this nick name!! thank you :)

Keep up the good work and look forward to your next build 👍
thank you!! i partly agree, i was over the moon when it was finished but i think id still like it to be a bit easier to put together🤣

thank you very much! i think you might be on to something there as well!
Loving it mate 😍

Thank you! What are the differences, just out of curiosity?
The dash board that you were talking about is called a hud ( heads up display
Thank you for the information sir!🤙🏻
@@machmodels no problem 😉
The dashboard is called a glaresheild. The F-16 D model has a similar set up. That glaresheild is a nightmare to take off
thank you very much!! i’ll make sure to give it its proper name next time :)
very nice - now do an su-35 with the arctic splinter camo
Oooo that’s a good idea! I’ll look into it✌🏼
amazing video
Thank you very much sir!
7:35 it’s called the hud
Edit: wait are you talking about the glass on the “dashboard” or are you talking about the “dashboard” I’m then not sure sorry
Thank you bud! I do know about the hud but I think I was referring to the actual dashboard looking piece🤣 Still have no clue what it’s called!
Epic
Thank you very much sir!🤙🏻
Excellent job 👍
How much is this fighter
Thank you! I believe the Su30-SM is around £50 million, however, this kit is around the £60 mark😉🤙🏻
@@machmodels NICE .. ARE YOU IN THE UK
@@machmodels Do you have any utility HELECOPTERS models
Sure am in the UK! One of my upcoming projects is a 1/35 Chinook… if you can class that as a utility heli!
@@machmodels OK. But do you have any other utility HELECOPTERS EUROPEAN made ..
Which airbrush you used
Harder and Steinbeck Evo😁👌🏻

1/48!

Stiedemann River
Ayden Branch
Weissnat Hollow
....самалет-красавчик!,но модель желает быть лучше......
thank you! definitely a rather tricky kit!
Terrible model people, I’ve attempted several models from this company and fit and finish is awful.
Haha yeah I’ve recently sold one or two of the other kitty hawk kits I had in the stash.. won’t be doing that again!!
Well... contender for one of the worst jet kits ever
Haha maybe!😉🤣
