Great build up! I wanted to let you know, as an FYI, those ‘fins’ on the top of the nose are IFF (Identify Friend/Foe) antennae, also comically referred to as ‘bird slicers’. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much! Funnily enough I have just released another video on this beast but a revamp for 2024, so if you enjoyed that I am sure you’ll like that as well🤙🏻
We worked on the developed that system back in the late 1980s at Edwards AFB. It was originally slated for Block 30G production, but never made it into the production line until Block 50. Some F-16As and F-16Cs have been MLU’d or CCIP’d with AIFF retrofitted back into them, since it’s one of the critical BVR target recognition systems for more enhanced employment of the AIM-120C5 and later AMRAAMs.
Great job! Don’t mind the negative comments from the so called “pros”. Great weathering and you’ve given me some great tips on what to do with my F-16c! Thanks!
Thank you very much! Those comments are just part of the RUclips game I have come to find!😉🤣
I'd been eyeing this one, love the aggressor schemes. Glad to see it's typical tamiya quality. Great build and finish!
i think i’ll be getting another two of these kits so i can have the trio of the schemes! thank you very much i’m glad you enjoyed :)
Excellent build, definitely have to do one or two of these tamiya 16's.
Thank you very much! I recently rebuilt this very kit because I loved it so much!
Excellent job!
Thank you very much sir!😄
Thanks for all great videos
thank you for watching them!! i’m glad i can provide content worth watching!!
Great job, thank you for sharing the build process 👍
thank you!! glad you enjoyed :)
Just got this kit and can’t wait to build it. The f-16 is one of my favorite fighter jets. It’s going to be my first time building this kit. Thanks for the great tips.
Same here! Absolutely love the viper, so aggressive… best of luck for the build!! Thanks for the comment😁✌🏼
Great build! ...I really like the way the F-16 looks loaded down with ordinance & even the Conformal Fuel tanks ...but this paint scheme works really well with your 'clean' build! Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you very much! I completely agree it felt a little naked when I finished it off, I’m eyeing up to do a SUFA Viper at some point as they just look mean as hell all loaded up! Thanks for the comment😁✌🏼
Another incredible job my friend!! I’ve been binge watching your videos and while every single build is gorgeous this aircraft and the f-4b phantom are two of my faves!!
Haha thank you very much! I hope you haven’t got sick of my voice yet🤣🤣
@@machmodels your welcome!! Your voice is actually relaxing I love it my friend!
I have this kit in my stash and your excellent video has inspired me to crack open the box and give it a go. I look forward to your next build!
brilliant! i can’t wait to see what you produce :)
Me tooooooooo 🤩
I just finished this video and oh, my lord, I learned several really cool things! Namely the masking, chipping and accents. Thank you so much again!
Woohoo! I’m glad the video was of some use for you, there is so much content on the channel and each one utilises different techniques to get the desired effect! If you are interested in more information about a technique let me know and I’ll formally explain it a little better for you✌🏼
Love the detail and weathering work on this one. Beautiful job man! 86-0314 is an F-16C Block 30D, first was assigned to 35th Tactical Fighter Squadron Wolf Pack in Korea, then later assigned to Alaska in 2007. It had the paint scheme you did up until 2022, when it went to a splinter camo scheme with the same colors.
Thank you very much sir! Looks like I’ll have to do an updated version of it soon🤙🏻😝
@@machmodels It's fine just the way it is.
Lovely work!
Thank you so much!
Great building 🤩
Out of the box🤩👌🏻
Thank you so much!!😁
Epic weathering!!!
Thank you very much bud! Actually remaking this model at the moment and I have plans to once again make it a little on the dirty side🤙🏻😝
I'm planning on building some planes again. Used to build them as a kid. Looks like this is a good place to come for guidance. Got you subbed. 👍👍
if the video didn’t convey it enough get tamiya!! it’ll just be a much nicer building experience! thanks for the comment and feel free to send me a dm if you need any specific tips!
I just got into scale modeling a few months ago and have put together some Bandai Namco and Revell kits as well as one Tamiya Walker Bulldog kit, so I figured I’d take a stab at this Tamiya F-16C/N kit.
Yeeeeeeeeah, I think I’d better go ahead and watch this video because this F-16 kit is far more complicated than the kits I’ve been putting together and I definitely don’t want it to come out looking jacked-up.
Thank you for posting this video. Subscribed.
Welcome to the wonderful world of scale models!! You’ll absolutely love this kit, key tip for Tamiya kits is good clean up of the parts; before each piece goes in make sure there is no sprue left on it and any rough edges sanded or scraped off. If you do it right this Tamiya kit should literally fall into place!! If there’s any hiccups along the way let me know and I should be able to point you in the right direction!✌🏼😁
@@machmodels Thanks so much for the pointers! Man, so far, I’m liking Tamiya infinitely more than Revell. I recently put together the Revell F4-U Corsair kit, and it was an absolute nightmare. From bad fitment to multiple broken pieces, I ended up having to buy 4 more of that kit solely for replacement parts. 😫 I finally got it put together (thank goodness for epoxy) and it didn’t turn out nearly as badly as I expected, but good lord, that kit really turned me off of Revell. On one hand, I learned a lot of important and useful things from the experience but on the other hand, I could see how a kit like that could turn off a newcomer to the hobby. The kit that I did after that was the Tamiya M41 Walker Bulldog and the difference in quality and fitment was night and day. I had a much easier time with the Tamiya kit.
I’m definitely going to do everything that you said on this F-16.
Excellent 👍
thank you!! glad you like it!
Nice build, congrats! I'm thinking of buying a Tamiya F-16
thank you mate!! i couldn’t recommend this kit more it was just such a joy to build… i’m thinking of picking up the kinetic one to see if it follows!
Nice weathering 🤩🤩🤩
thank you!! glad you like it :)
Excellent work sir well done, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍
thank you very much i’m glad you enjoyed it!!
Excelente trabajo
thank you sir!😁
The F-16 with over 4,000 built unique jet fighter. Besides the Norwegian Air force & Belgian air force, Hungarian air force. ❤😊👍☺️🤗
thank you neil for the facts!! very interesting to see how popular the F16 is and how it is widely used in all corners of the globe!!
Amazing ❤
thank you! i’m glad you like it :)
Amazing video, just ordered the kit and can't wait to build it. Just wondered what you used for the weathering in terms of the black lines on the flaps, same for the white lines on the actual fuselage as well as the metallic weathering within the cockpit and on the seat. Thanks
Thank you mate! Yup, so those are panel washes (oil washes) and for the lighter colours I used a black or dark brown and for the black aspects of the camo I used a white wash! Hopefully that helps😁
Hey! How do you usually film your videos without the tripod legs showing? Very fabolous build!
Very nicelyyyyy
thank you very much!!
That’s me sold! I was going to get this kit and do it in the arctic scheme I’m also a fan of the heavily weathered finish, yours looks great buddy keep up the good work! I’m currently building academy’s f-4b in 1/48 and just got to the painting stage so can’t wait to get it looking nice and bartered 😊
thank you very much bud! the heavily weathered look is very much a love or hate situation… i am also working on a f4 at the moment but by tamiya so i’m looking forward to making it insanely grimed up😅
@@machmodels look forward to seeing that one mate! That’s the beauty with US navy aircraft you can get away with making them look almost abandoned 😂
i think you’ll like it!! i agree especially the carrier based aircraft some photos of them look like they shouldn’t be airworthy😅
I’m sure I will, loved the f-16 and it inspired me to order the kit from Amazon today lol hopefully it doesn’t get lost in my ever growing stash! The tamiya f-4 looks epic same scheme as the academy (sundowners) I believe? I want the tamiya one but thinking of a nice dirty Vietnam camo for that one
i can’t wait to see what you do with it! i’ll most likely be picking another one up so i can do another aggressor scheme😅 i love a good nam scheme… possibly one of my favourite schemes to do just because of how well the colours compliment each other!!
nice!! yes please show figure painting!
you got it! i’ll make sure to film all about it in my latest build :)
I’ve got one question- do you put a coat of primer on these models before you paint them, or do you paint directly onto the plastic? I’ve been using primer on my last few projects, but if that isn’t necessary then maybe I should stop.
I would highly recommend putting primer on all your models, really helps to highlight any imperfections like finger prints, gaps etc etc! So keep that good habit up!😁
@@machmodels Ok awesome, thank you! I’ll definitely keep on doing that then! I’ve been priming the pieces while still connected to the sprues but that didn’t seem like the ideal way to do it, so I’m thinking that with this F-16 kit, I’m going to assemble it one section at a time and then prime and paint the assembled sections before piecing the sections together.
This hobby is definitely teaching me a lot of much-needed patience. 🤣 I’m no longer focusing on the finished project, rather one little part at a time.
The Royal Danish air force Dannebrog ❤😊👍☺️🤗
Our jets aren't nearly as dirty as you've weathered this one to look. The splinter and Flanker paint schemes are nice in that not much shows on them. But it is annoying when you have to take panels from one jet to another since there are 3 different color schemes and 3 patterns. No jet will get as dusty as this one unless it's been deployed to southwest Asia. And no JHMCS for the 18th because we have Block 30 F-16s that haven't received all the fancy upgrades because we're targets. Have at you!
thanks for all the information!! i really should do more research… when it comes to the weathering i think i mentioned in the video but for this one i was going for more of an artistic approach (not realism based). None the less a huge thank you for all of the information it’ll be used next time i make one of these :) other than all my mess ups on the realism side i hope you enjoyed :)
I only know what I know since I'm in the unit currently. Always interesting to see these videos and how well someone can make models look like more than just plastic bits stuck together.
Ottimo lavoro… ma in base alla realtà, non è troppo sporco o usurato?
Yes definitely shouldn’t be like that, more of a practise😄
👍👍👍
glad you liked it!!
Nice build & jet fighter congrats. I like the F-16 awesome jet. All the Air Forces of the world. I love the Israeli Air Force IDF mostly. 🇮🇱🇮🇱❤😊👍☺️🤗
thank you Neil!! I'll be sure to make a couple more F16s on the channel... i plan on doing some special livery ones too!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😯😲😳
😁😁🤙🏻
22:39 my pins didn’t come with mine :(
oh nooo that’s so bad! have you contacted tamiy?
@@machmodels yep did it about 5 hours ago waiting on a reply haha
@@queencinn4964 best of luck!! let me know how it goes :)
Really poor quality.... you could have done a lot better.
Thanks for the comment! Funnily enough remaking this kit as we speak so perhaps you’ll tune back in to see if I have improved!😝
Poor quality? This looks like something Picasso would make
It looks like he focused a lot on weathering while he didn’t give a damn about parts like the engine nozzle or the gear bays
Dios mío 32 minutos hablando sin parar 😨
Quedo muy bien el modelo.
haha hopefully my voice isn’t too annoying! thank you very much!
