Bloody hell guys, 10k views! Thank you all so much for the support and for sharing your stories here in the comments, it means the absolute world. Im already working on the next video, keep an eye out! Stay safe you lovely lot ❤
It doesn’t matter what MX5 you have. It doesn’t matter if it has body roll. It doesn’t matter if it’s an ND 1 or an ND4. They are a bloody joy to drive. Always puts a smile on my face. Thank you so much Mazda. Great video mate.
Can't agree more! I'm an MX-5 driver, a 2022, manual soft-top. Apart from chores such as shopping or appointments, a week doesn't go by where I don't drive it for the sheer pleasure of just driving-roof off, music on, it's definitely 4 wheeled therapy. You drive, you smile and the little Mazda just adds to your day.
Absolutely, that's what cars are all about. I get a strange joy from doing mundane day-to-day things with the roof down amongst all of the SUVs. Thanks for watching!
I miss my ND2 Miata, it was an amazing drivers car. My grandfather passed away a couple months ago and left his brand new ND3 behind. We couldn’t afford to take the payments over but my cousin sacrificed his mustang and was able to save the car from the bank. These cars aren’t just machines, they are a member of our family.
I lost both my parents between 2020-2022 and ended up with a midlife crisis. I wanted to buy a sports car but couldn't afford one. So I ended up buying a motorcycle instead. Changed my life forever.
Thank you! It was alot of fun to make. Do continue to enjoy the NB, most of my friends have one and they're cracking little cars, very few electrical bits getting in the way 👌👌

An excellent video mate. Perfect duration and if I might say some driving videos through scenic curvy roads would be so pleasantly fun to watch. Enjoy your drives.
This video deserves big view numbers! It's not loaded with technical specs, those are left to other reviews on RUclips. Instead, there is a personal story of a coping strategy that may be relevant to many others out there. Great video! Looking forward to the next one. 👍
These cars are genuinely the punching bags for every bad moment we’ll ever have…gotta thank these cars for taking all the hits our heart can’t (great video by the way)
Great video. I had an acquaintance who sadly died of lung cancer in his 30’s, once he was diagnosed he decided to buy a MX5 NB and spend the time he had left driving his car in the Peaks. I love my MX and I’m on my 4th.
18 months ago something happened to me that put me into the pits of hell, I slowly recovered and a few months later to help me recover I bought my favourite MX5, a beautiful and original red NA MX5. It didn’t save my life, but it certainly helped me get it back again, best purchase of my life, it gives me so much joy. And recently had my niece come back into our lives after 10 years (avoiding her mother) had such a wonderful day to have her back again, she was so excited to see my little red mx5, that I took her out in it, she loved it so much that I let her drive. She was bursting out with joy and laughter and said “best day ever”. I will hold that dear to me forever. What a car. Also loved the intro into this, very cool, and just subscribed, because I can tell this is going to be a channel to watch. Good luck with it!
Just wow. That opening especially was so impressive. Your writing and delivery are so tight and refined. As someone who has watched OG TopGear for decades this really reminded me of a blend that fell neatly between Clarkson and May for style and soul and I'm not overstating. Everyone has their struggles and also their gifts. I really hope you get to pursue something like this video as your gift. Thx RUclips for showing me this.
That's high praise indeed, thank you so much! Doing my best to write more content that people can truly connect with, rather than just facts and figures. It's an honour to have you along for the ride - thanks for watching ❤
Totally agree! Was out early Sat morning with the top down and heaters on (0 degrees C) and it was one of so many other memorable drives. Therapy indeed.
Awesome video. That's how I feel about my Mustang GT I bought in 2015, as a 2016 factory order model. When I am sad, discouraged, low....I just row the gears and listen to the engine and see that hood, and feel much better.
Miata or Mazda MX5 is always the answer, when you surching for a sporty car that is not expensive, with rear wheel drive, lightweight, design und a driving feeling that is absolutely amaizing!! Thank you for your Video. It s megaa!! In two and a half years, i will be 50 years old. And i will buy myself a MX5 RF for my bithday. @DrivenWithLiam Hi Liam, the ND Miata is a Dream since 10 years. But due to other priorities in my live it was not possible to buy me a RF as a fun car (second car). But we have only one live and we need dreams. So therefore i will buy me MY RF to my 50. Birthday! :) 😀
Same. Same. Same. My MX5 is my therapy and something that gives me a feeling of freedom when going places with it. Away from most humans and to all these nice backroad places.
When you get out there with the top down, problems just disappear. It is always excited to go for a drive, like a puppy when you so much as look at the front door, with that shift knob shaking like an excited tail. Can't love these cars enough - 23 RF Club in Snowflake White
Excellwnt video, nicely put together. The MX-5 is my dream car, can’t wait to pick one up hopefully within the next year. Likely going with the soft top and definitely manual. Enjoy those treasured drives!
This is great mate, and I love this little corner of the internet of people who care about driving their cars for fun instead of the majority of people who just want fast cars in a straight line to brag. I've got an i30N (purchased new in July), putting the windows down and hearing the exhaust roar while driving in some winding roads is definitely therapeutic. Stay safe!
It's a corner of the car-world I didn't know existed, but judging by the response to this video I was very wrong indeed! Enjoy your lovely i30n and stay safe also ❤
They are brilliant. So much fun.I've just traded my retirement present to myself a 2021 RF for my 60th present a 2024 RF Homura.Think its called the club elsewhere. Its the recaro/bbs/brembo one.If you've never driven one you'll never know how good and enjoyable they are.
I got a manual BRZ in grad school in a science field. Fun healthy way to get out of the house and let my mind go numb. The ND was what I was originally looking to buy as a cheap enthusiast car
I'm up in Scotland, just back from a sunny happy time in Australia, and my wee baby is snowed under! Will be days before I can go for a hoon and relieve the blues of this cold, dark place :( Nice video, very cleanly gets across one of the best things about this car. Robot folding roof gang!
@ driving those highlands must be pretty epic. I desperately want to drive them. Hard to find twisty roads here in Aus. Actually I think I’m convincing myself to go to Scotland just writing this.
@@xkimopye yeah man all the roads over there are so straight and dull! Scotland's little twisty turny b roads are the best. I used to have an RX8 R3 and did the nc500 a few times in it. The ND2 has only seen the central belt but still some phenomenal driving to be had basically anywhere you go if you pick a quiet time and don't get stuck behind long queues of slowies.
All my life I've dreamt of owning a car. Everything I love is car related. Almost a year ago, my parents told me that they would get me the car I've been dreaming of since I was 12, the ND. I got my dream spec too, a 1.5 soft top ND2 with my favourite color ever, Platinum Quartz Metallic. I've lowered her and have done a few other mods. I've learnt revmatching, heel-toe and I'm learning to drift. The last day of 2024, my beloved childhood dog died, who was with me almost all my life. It was very hard for me, so I went for a drive. The next day, I went to my friends who still had snow in their village so we went drifting on an empty parking lot, top down at 0° Celsius. Then I remembered how fun life is with this car, it was truly made for me. I am now at about 10.000km after 9 months, and I want to drive and keep her forever.
Beautifully said! I have almost the exact same spec ND but with BC Racing coilovers. This car saved my life. 2024 was a doozy but every time Im going through a corner on full opposite lock that all goes away. Buy an MX5 it will save your life.
Living, breathing human being. Check. Car enthusiast. No. However, I have a 2016 mx5 soft top Icon, which I have driven to/around Portugal in, been on hundreds of countryside drives in and occasionally thrashed the pants off. I love it. My youngest daughter is constantly asking if we can take it for a spin and always with the top down, no matter what the weather (even light rain, sometimes). It's an absolute remedy. A tonic. A gin and tonic, even. I will always have one.
Every home should have one! There are few cars that i feel can suit an international road trip, and a weekend thrash, yet they do it so effortlessly. Stay safe and have fun! ❤
I've really struggled since graduating as it seems its impossible to find a job in my field without years of experience. After countless rejections im just slowly coming to terms that I have to suck it up and do something I absolutely despise for a couple years just to get by, and after studying something I hated hoping to do something I enjoyed at the end of it, it hurts to have my expectations shattered and to go back to doing something I hate, the one positive and what motives me is to hopefully put enough on the side to get an MX5 or a GR86, so this video really hits home for me, thanks a ton
These things are just a means to an end at the end of the day, doing something you hate with an MX5 or a GR86, will one day lead to doing something you love with another car you've always wanted. It all works itself out in the end. Thanks so much for watching and best of luck with it all ❤
Completely agree with everything you’ve said. I have an 89 Eunos Roadster NA and every time those pop ups go up, all of my worries go down. You sir, have a new subscriber! Cheers from Malta 🇲🇹
My ND2 is so full of character It has had some electric gremlins to deal with But just when I start thinking, maybe it's time get rid I take it to a back road and fall in love with it again! This will resonate with many other people. I love how you’re sharing your personal journey with your passion for all things automotive. Well done Liam!
Ive always said my car is my therapy. I unfortunately wrecked my 2020 gt rf with only 20k on it the tuesday before christmas...so lost without my car. Still waiting to hear if its totaled, fingers crossed for me guys. Ive never wrecked a car (im 35) and sooo sad my first was this one.
Sorry to hear that buddy, it is a car guys worst nightmare. As long as you're OK however that's all that matters. As much as we love them, cars are replaceable, we aren't. Stay safe out there and I hope you're back on 4 wheels soon my friend ❤
@DrivenWithLiam yes luckily we were totally fine! Low speed wreck without any other cars. I will say given the surprising damage the car sustained it sure kept us safe inside that cabin. And thank for the kind words, means a lot!
I think I desperately need it too. But at the moment it’s just not possible. I don’t put my phone away though. I don’t look at als messages etc anyway. But I need some positive vibe so I can fall asleep. So. Today I read Rome and Julia. Yes on my phone. And now I just need some positiv thought what guides me to sleep. Maybe a little obsession to a car helps ?
My MX-5 has just committed Harí-kari. I didn’t know It was burning oil until the engine broke. Not a good start to the year and left me feeling a bit sad. Keep checking your dip stick.
Ooof not fabulous that sounds like a MK3? I've had one and a friend had a similar issue. Obviously the financial side of that is never great but try your best to keep your head up regardless. As much as we love them, cars are replaceable. Us, not so much. Hope it all gets sorted soon and thanks so much for watching ❤
@@DrivenWithLiam Yes it is a MK3. Is this not a common issue in the MK4? Does the MK4 come with a reliable oil guage or light? It's rediculous that you can lose that much oil with no warnings. Thanks for your reply and professonal video.
I'm just about short enough for it not to be a problem though i do find myself having to do a bit of a head tilt if I'm wearing thick clothing that lifts me off the seat a little bit 😂 An MX5 will still save your life, so long as you have a chiropractor on speed dial
Brilliant first video since your car spotting days. I would like to something similar but i ask myself what am i doing it for, is it for the love of cars? Something to get excited about, i dont know. Hope they bring you much joy like the MX has done.
@@DrivenWithLiam Number 1, hybrid only (no manual here :( and thus expensive), number 2 its a CVT of which practically nobody likes and number 3, theres not really any advertising for it. You still see a ton of the older models, like the last gen, gen before that and even the gen before that, but no new ones. I could swear i've seen more type r's than regular civics lmfao!
That’s what I mean, since we only have the CVT in the UK, we don’t have the simplicity and overall better driving experience of either a manual or regular automatic, which I think people, when buying a car (not leasing) in the UK, value.
I have an s2k, so not quite a Miata but I've gone out for a drive and come back feeling refreshed. I'll say though, don't rely solely on a car to find peace and joy... Remember this truth... When we have peace with God, we have peace within. Open the Bible, and pray consistently in difficult times and he'll never let you down. Then hop in your MX-5 for a drive 👍

Four wheels or two - doesn't matter, that's why we love our machines in the way that we do ❤
And I went from a motorcycle to an mx5 because I knew it would be a matter of time until the bike will kill me.
I've had bikes for a decade and recently bought an mx5, now no matter wherever/however I go, I'm always having fun.
All the best to you.
For such a small channel, this video was extremely well-produced, shot and narrated. And as a former NB owner, i can only agree with that message!

Character is where it's at, was driving mine in heavy snow last night, yet all I could do was laugh!
Love spotting roads I know 😂 Great video mate keep it up❤
Only start worrying when you see your house, but you should be fine ❤️❤️
That's a very original take on a car review - enjoyed it :-)
Thank you kindly!
Just discovered your channel. Congrats... great video! I love my RF tooooooo
Awesome! Thank you!
How right you are. Nice video.
Great video! You've got a Miata wave from NZ!
Thanks for watching!! 👋
This video was awesome and it makes me appreciate my 2024 Miata even more ❤.
Thank you, I'm glad to hear it! Mission accomplished ❤
I was really considering an MX-5 and this video just dropped
Might as well be a sign from God at this point 😂
Only one thing left to do now 🤷♂️ TO AUTOTRADER!!
This is what we feel not just what we think. Fantastic 🙌
Thank you kind stranger
Interesting perspective
Not when you are 2 metres tall... Unless I install longer rails for the seats but who knows if that will fit...
I'm just about short enough for it not to be a problem though i do find myself having to do a bit of a head tilt if I'm wearing thick clothing that lifts me off the seat a little bit 😂 An MX5 will still save your life, so long as you have a chiropractor on speed dial
Beautiful video and well said
Thank you ❤️
Brilliant first video since your car spotting days. I would like to something similar but i ask myself what am i doing it for, is it for the love of cars? Something to get excited about, i dont know. Hope
they bring you much joy like the MX has done.
Hoping to get one September, can't stop thinking about it
I've been there my friend, stay safe and have fun when the time comes ❤️
Rev it up and let it go!
Sometimes it has to be done!
Every weekend I go for 3 hours of pure therapy in my ND2. I return a new man after each drive.
A great habit to get into that is, stay safe and always have a laugh 🫡❤
Nice intro! good stuff
Glad you like it! 🫡🫡
Love it...
Brilliant
Damn that was good, continue the good work and remember, quality over quantity, have a good day 😉
Will do, thank you friend 🫡 🫡
Great video. Question: HOW in the WORLD is the Civic not on the top 10 list for your area? **HOW?!?**
Strange right? It turns out it has been selling well over here, but just not quite as well as the others.
@sickbozzer I see with the 2025 you may be right, but I have a '24 manual 2.0 (no turbo) and I REALLY like it, a LOT.
Then hop in your MX-5 for a drive 👍
cars = good
nice.
You're nice
MUM I MADE IT, I'M IN A RUclips VIDEO
I am not a living breathing human being
I fucking hate cars honestly
Do you know where I can find some? Gotta get in touch with the target audience.
