I've tried milwaukee and diablo multitool blades, and in my experience, they don't last much longer than cheap ass amazon ones. Certainly not longer enough to justify the price difference
Not sure if you used on metal or wood, but I use them frequently and there is a dramatic difference between carbide Milwaukee vs say dremel.. dremel will go bald in a min while Milwaukee will not have taken and damage at all
@@tu1469I will stick to my 2$ bimetal blades and 50 cent wood blades. They might last a little less time but not by much. I use them doing hardwood floors every day.

@@zaklion1440 I’m a carpenter you dingys. I’ve used these blades. They don’t last. The blade was incredibly dulled by the last 2 screws. Stay in your lane
That was exactly what I was thinking about, how much slower it was cutting after the last nail on to the screws and by the 2nd screw it seemed like the teeth were already worn off and he had to push through the Last two. But I will say one thing about this demonstration is that the battery life was good. It made me think that they were selling the tool, because it didn't slow down
They cut way better if you move them. The teeth clog up and wear down in that spot. Better to move it and get done faster and save some blade. After one spot is wore out it sucks trying to plunge cut something.
To be fair you the left and right hand side of the blade would still be pretty new as the majority of the cutting was done with the middle of the blade
@histguy101 My Milly Blades worked for my garage/ basement renovations perfectly fine. I bought the trade-a-blades for the carpet underlay (the putty knife style blades) either way you look at it the blades in the video should've lasted longer. Plain and simple lol
I go out of my way to avoid hitting nails or screws with oscillator blades, it doesn't matter if they're made with some fancy carbide unobtainium teeth, they just don't handle them well due to poor cutter geometry. The center of that blade is already toast just from hitting those three screws alone, it could have gone through a lot more nails but screws are an absolute no-no. You're better off with a Sawzall blade or a grinder, or better yet, just remove the screws if possible. There may be some situations where that isn't possible but that's like 1 in 100 instances.
Yeah only time I've been forced to use amultitool on screws is when a subdeck is screwed down into its support and then glue is used to hold the top to the deck and THEN i have to remove the supports/ top. Only happens like once every year
Thanks for hitting them all on the same spot on the blade and not being phony by spreading it across unused portions of the blade or taking pauses for letting it cool down (heat ruins the temper of the metal and is a common cause of premature wear when cutting metal)

But as it’s not about the tool, it’s all about the views/comments (which is why Diablo is “mispronounced”) I guess this short has served its purpose.
using a grinder in the same positions as you would often want to use a multitool would usually be very dangerous for a grinder wheel and could leak to the grinder wheel shattering
I usually attach them to the first set of holes so the blade sticks out father and that increases the side to side movement distance of oscillations. Basically, it cuts through stuff faster
It only worked at all because he was adding extra oscillations by moving the tool back and forth while it was operating. That's what made the difference.
I wish I had a similar blade on the job today. All the metal cutting blades were worn out and the only blade left in the tool trailer was a half-moon drywall blade which was worthless for any other use I had.
I think it's so funny when people use saws like this that they think they have to move it back and forth like that three or four stroke that you go back and forth with your hand made the difference 😁😁😁
Harbor Freight blades are cheaper and just as good. I don't know about the carbide blades yet but wood and steel blades are great for a lot less money.
Well boys, hate to break it to you, but I use these tools almost on a daily basis, haven't tried the Diablo carbide blades as of yet but I'm betting they're pretty much the same as Milwaukee carbide blades WHICH by The way are by FAR the best blades there are and I've used from Amazon bimetal trash to name brand titanium bimetal blades. You can takes these blades through 1/2" rebar and they're just getting started, now I'm not saying they're fast by any means, save that for 1/8" angle grinder wheels but I lay flooring and lots and lots of hard surface and use these to cut door jams, bymetal blades are well ok when you hit a couple nails in the jam or baseboard but the carbides are like a TIMEX WATCH, remember those, they TAKE A LICKIN AND KEEP ON TICKIN. the trick is to LET THEM CUT with as little pressure as possible working it back and forth slowly as to use the whole blade and not to overheat it in one spot which will significantly shorten any multi tool blade. I've cut several 3/8" and 1/2" rebar sticking up out of the floor. If they would come up with a blade that cuts steel and concrete/ceramic tile efficiently because the diamond blades don't work so well on ceramic. Maybe they do but I haven't seen it as of yet. NOW the carbides really don't work on metal industrial door casing like in a hospital ECT, but nails and screws you're good long as you use them the right way. DON'T expect them to be fast by forcing it through but expect them to work when used correctly and for a good bit of time. At $35-40 for two you might want to keep that in mind. Stay safe and God bless.
I’ll try these multitool blades just like all the others I’ve tried but I usually go back to cheap bulk packs off Amazon because of the massive price differences and minimal performance improvements. Fun fact about oscillating blades, they move so that your hand doesnt have to XD
When you cut metal you move the blade to distrubute the cutting to more teeth. If not there will be to much heat there will kill the blade.
