I really like the sawrunner. As long as you keep a calm head when escaping from it you could easily just walk away, but it’s design with the sounds music and just the figure itself running at you can easily make you panic and well. that usually doesn’t end well. you have to keep calm all the time when going against it or you’re fucked. it’s probably one of my favorite horror monsters ever.
This only feeds my theory on Saw runner being a representation of Simons anxiety

I never thought of it that way. I thought it was just an oversight in game design with how you can easily walk away, but that fits perfectly with the themes of the story.

In my opinion the faster is one of the scariest ones, just the speed and those weird spikes on the limbs.and those soulless eyes and mouth, they just look so wierd.. and creepy.......

Cry of Fear deserves to be remembered among 2010 greats like Amnesia and Five Nights At Freddy's. The voice acting alone was nightmare fuel.
Indeed, it’s crazy to me that Cry of Fear is a free game. It’s definitely one of the best, and absolutely better than most triple-A horror games out there

I think saw runner might represent the car that hits him at the beginning of the game. It attacks all of a sudden, it's fast, and if it hits you, you're dead.

My friends and i often play this and they often call it the "Willrunner" because my name is William and i can make an almost identical facial expression as the "sawrunner"
the low quality graphics made this game ten times more creepy because things didnt look human
Least people: Ah, i remember when i used to play cry of fear all day and get scared as hell.
Most people: when you hit a sickler.
I'm not gonna lie, between the Sawrunner's theme and the unearthly sounds that he also made, I had a literal panic attack when I played the forest level for the first time. He also appears in an alleyway, and that was even worse because it was claustrophobic. You can _barely_ outrun him, and if you turn around for even a second, he'll make you into worm-food. As hard as it may seem, when you encounter this thing, _never look back_ and keep pushing forward. That's really the only piece of advice that I have.
his hp is so high that he wasent ment to be killed in game, that should sum it up

My question is how did they find these screams in the first place?
i heard that the creator andreas ronberg did the monsters voices, im not sure if its true though, something with a voice synthesiser and other voice editing softwares
I messed around with the sound files, and the Sawrunner's screams are all just Pitched down/Reversed versions of the Faster's sounds.

Nah sawrunner is more terrifying imo think about it you’re in a tight corner being chase by a guy with a chainsaw and later he chase you again in the woods

@@galaxybandit9829 but i do think cry of fear did better job at building attention before he appeared you go into an abandon building where you’re in a dark room where you hear a chainsaw and every second the chainsaw get louder and louder but the funny part is he wasn’t there is just a mp3 but when he actually appeared later in the game it is scary if it’s your first time playing as you’re stuck in a claustrophobic area and later in the game you’re stuck in a dark forest with him where you don’t know where to go as you only have a lamp

I killed him with Leatherhoff's axe without camera
I ran backwards, and kept hitting the air with axe, sometimes hitting him. And when I ran into the bigger space from corridor, I started to run backwards in circles, without stopping to run, and without moving into him. I killed him in easy mode, but it still was pretty hard, becouse he still had about 20 times more hp then average monster
