This was not the scariest part of my 2,000 Mile Drive through the Arctic and the Arctic Ocean, that was in the previous Hurricane episode.

3 record breaking hurricanes surprised me and hit the arctic coast within one week as I was traveling in my van to the outlying islands. The hurricanes where the strongest that have ever been measured in the country and reached wind speeds of over 62 m/s, or 140 mph. Records where set that where way higher than this again. Red alerts where issued for all along the coast, and I ended up in the middle of it, not by my choice, but when ferries are involved things can get tricky. I decided to run for my life to get out of there, and instead take my chances against a massive Blizzard. It was fierce!
My van is a Fiat Ducato, FWD with Nokian Hakkapalitta studless Winter Tires. This is the same as a Ram Promaster in America - USA and Canada.

This is my complete second winter of Winter Van Life in extreme conditions in the North, living in a van during freezing temperatures. Starting in November I go through the whole winter season of snowy winter adventures from November to April, with snow storms, blizzards, extreme cold, extreme snowfall, slippery roads and some amazing winter beauty as well.
I also show you what I learn as I go from my second winter in the van.

This is insane! How do you survive in such harsh weather? I can’t imagine living in a van during a massive blizzard and a snow storm. You must have some serious skills and courage. I admire your spirit and your passion for van life. You are awesome! 💯💯💯

Dangerous brutal weather for walkers and skiers for balance. Excellent microphone and it’s always coffee/tea time with extreme temperatures. We grow our own hot chilies for quesadillas. Love your cozy mobile home. In New Mexico, you astounded us again, thank you.

An awesome beautiful site - that blizzard. Wild, free, untouched, and whimsical snow flying through the sky. It was a good strategy that your van positioned facing the wind direction. And the next morning was so gorgeous. Not much snow build-up at all. Thankful for that snowplow to do such a thorough job in clearing your parking area. Looking forward to the "deep white unknown of the north"!! LOVE IT - cannot wait to join you again to the north.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend, it was epic, there was actually quite a lot of snow, but the area around the van was blown completely clean, apart from the sharkfin.
In spite of all the extreme cold, the scenery is beautiful and so pretty!!!

That was intense going from hurricane to blizzard. Ill take the snow anytime as long as u have a roof over ur head and heat its definitely better. We love watching all the snow she sits here watching and saying "bbrrrr" so cute. Be safe and warm. 💕💕🔥🔥💜💕🇺🇲

Jarl, I grew up on Long Island New York. The most severe winter storm I can remember was the massive Northeast Blizzard of 1978. Snow drifts 6 to 7 feet high. Brought the entire Northeast United States to a standstill for a week. Even that storm pales in comparison to the extreme blizzards you encounter. Especially those winds packing a serious wallop of force, driving the snow horizontally. Absolutely incredible. Are you worried at all that the fierce winds combined with snow and dirt particles will damage the paint finish on your van?

Treat your van with kindness. The arctic is very hard on automotive systems. Brake fluid picks up condensation and may freeze. Batteries may not charge when frozen.

Much enjoyed Beautiful drone footage. It is really paying off in the cinematography side. The van, hell, Jaws. Fun to watch during new knee theraphy. I had it done. Much better but sore as a fork in the eye. Lots theraphy. Everyday better. Those high points aren't getting away from my travels.

I LOVE this beautiful snow! We normally have a fair amount of snow in the midwest of the United States. However, the last few years we have hardly any accumulation. I miss it. There is nothing like a beautiful, windy snowfall whike I am inside cozy & warm with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
