In today's video we get to finally come visit Spoon Type One! It's been such a long time since i've been able to visit and see Jomotosan. While I was there, I got to see all of the amazing Spoon demo cars and even see if they would sell me their civic type r... Afterwards we did some shopping and got to visit our friends over at Built by Legends!

Facts.
I love how Dustin is driving the R34 in Japan & it's just a "meh" common car, but in the states everyone would be all over him asking about it. Hahahaha!
I lived in Japan for 5 years, and even there the R34 gets looks from people. It’s just a cultural thing where people don’t clamor

Well its the same thing overseas, lived in Japan for 4 years. If you see a corvette, mustang, or whatever american/european import it is looked at the same. Same thing when you go to Europe and the brand is common there while in the states its seen as "luxury". There are shops and garages that sell a ton of skylines, wrx, rx-7s, and all the goodies for cheap but since most of them hit 25 years they become eligable for import and price skyrockets especially in auctions.
Yup, but them seeing a challenger or even a charger in Japan always blows their minds. Weirdly Japanese people love American muscle and classics. So the same way we’d look at JDM cars from Japan, is the same way they’d look at a lot of our cars in the states.

Top three takeaways from this is how informative Yamoto-San was in the Spoon workshop tour, second is Masa explains the philosophy behind keep very clean and well organized environment (very detailed). I’m not so heavy into cars , but I fish alllll the time. I get so inspired by Japanese angling. There attention to detail, and there passion for there equipment has always inspired me to make it to Japan one day.
If anyone loves JDM cars this is top notch content. Thank you Dustin for sharing your experience with us! The spoon EK looks super fun to drive and you can tell instantly by how much the camera was panning when you got on the throttle!

Hey Dustin. You can get Softstone deodorant from any supermarket or drug store. When I lived there, that was my emergency go to when I was waiting on old spice from Amazon Japan. Also, if you ever get a chance, please take the R34 on a road trip to some of the lesser populated prefectures on Kyushu like Saga, Oita, and Tottori, and Ehime. Love to see the R34 cruising past Yufutake. They’re really rural but beautiful and they could use more press for tourism.
7/11's should have them, been there a few times before. little more pricey but hey lol. But atleast the ones in US do, cant vouch for Japan 7/11

@@dustiinw That’s great. And please as I suggested, if you ever have a chance, take a trip to some of those rural parts of Shikoku and Kyushu. Those places are suffering population loss as people keep moving to the bigger cities, but they are fantastic places with beautiful scenery, fresh fruits and vegetables, and kind people. You could help more people learn about them through your videos.
That’s part of what I love from these Japan videos when Dut just geeks out on rare godzilla/initial d cool finds like that I wish I could go and experience and buy things for myself too

The EG will always be my favorite, it's the first car that blow my mind when i was a teenager & makes me want to buy Honda ! That Spoon must be sooo nice to drive, if i had to buy one it would be that one for sure, even on the value side it will always be more sought after than newer ones !

For the engine build room, if the temperature is too hot or too cold, as we learned, the metal will inflate or shrink a little bit. Thus, the build such as piston ring data will be different, and cause difficulties moving or oil goes into cylinder
